Spring Lawn Mowing

lawnmower rants in the next dooryard
goes 'round behind the house, sound drops
shuts it down to empty the bag
has trimmed off dandelion tops

springtime pollens put you en garde
lawnmower rants in the next dooryard
blowing allergens into air
invisible sneezers are there

birdsongs' euphony remind us
winter's silence has been so hard
lawnmower rants in the next dooryard
languid breezes: why make a fuss?

cleaning gutters' maple seed-falls
listen to green peeper frog calls
mocking bird chortles his canard
lawnmower rants in the next dooryard
