Bad Romance..........Free Verse

whatever happened to famished desire?
you looked at me hungry,
slavered over my succulent words;
but to end in faithless fever
is to abandon immortal souls.
if desire is an end
then light the pyre with invocations
inebriate breath
and dismemberment of thoughts.
love became a feral beast
a cholera collar about it's neck,
luminous eyes once lit
by thoughtful approaches,
juxtaposition of truths
honestly arrived at,
now commit sacrilege
Swollen from lust,
dehumanized with a touch
never had, never promised,
only exsanguinated
in orgasmic denial
enraged.
