Yang and Yin

Two Siamese cats on an old stone post,
curled together like yin and yang,
a single thin blue slit of purest azure,
the colour of the summer sky,
surveys me lazily as I pass beneath them
but I am far too uninteresting
to warrant fully opening a complete eye
and Yang - or is it Yin? -
(both are exceedingly handsome and thin)
returns to full snooze mode again...
They probably have at least an hour
before the mid-morning sun becomes too hot
and they need to stir themselves
to find a slightly cooler spot,
perched aloof above street dogs
and passing tourists that sweat like hogs.
