Times Gone By.......Rondel

How very peaceful were days of olde
As horse drawn carts graced the land
In country lanes through fields of gold
Nourished by farmers calloused hands.

Cows in the meadows sheep in the fold
Life was simple, yet carefully planned
And this was his livelihood to uphold
As horse drawn carts graced the land.

On market days he bought and sold
Bartering on by the slight of his hand
To nurture the land he loves so grand
Natures environment of beauty untold
How very peaceful were days of olde.
