Divena Collins

Serenata.Cantata...............Collins Stanza

A soft serenata floats in the breeze
Songs of passion thro`trembling leaves
A maiden spake her prayer as she lay
Do not I beg of you leave me this way
My pure maideness hath thus been taken
On my oath sweet Lord, I was forsaken.

For I hath cherished thee from the start
Thou taketh, and fled from a sullen heart,
My honour I pledge, is in dire disgrace
How e`er in my plight, the morrow I face
My pure maideness, hath thus been taken
On my oath sweet Lord, I was forsaken.

No more shalt I heed of a soft serenata
Nor orchestral chorals of allegro cantata,
For now in my sorrow shalt live to regret
And he in my dreams, shalt ne-er forget
My pure maideness, hath thus been taken
On my oath sweet Lord, I was forsaken.
