Crest Of A Wave..........Monchielle Variation

There shall I ride on the crest of a wave
Towards oblivion to a place of dreams
Mermaids bathe in the brisk sea spray,
To mystical songs of a basking whale
And dolphins surface to leap and play.

There shall I ride on the crest of a wave
Above deep sea urchins and coral caves
Where the wonders of the ocean sleep,
Fantasies of old have often been told
Of mythical serpents so dark and deep.

There shall I ride on the crest of a wave
Storm battered seas of a raging ocean
Wrecks and treasures are not yet found,
In ancient cities now claimed by the sea
Once glorified on an earthened ground.

There shall I ride on the crest of a wave
To an island locked here in my dreams
In a haven of peace where angels grace,
Of sweet flowing nectar and eternal love
On a white tidal foam to my resting place.
