Queen Of The May..........Rosarian Sonnet
In Medieval times on Beltane Eve
Gathering May for garlands to weave.
Fresh from forests before the morn`
The first day in May a maiden serene
Promised fertility as chosen Queen,
Garlands of May which adorns her hair
This Pagan ritual performed with care,
Natures blessing for a maid re- borne
Hail to the glorious Queen of the May
Natures elements are with her this day
Life everlasting is now to behold
The Morning dew caresses her face
Eternal youth is hers to embrace
Astride her steed, in harness of gold .
