Poetic Constellations

2017 Poetry Form Challenge

#13 Quatern

As the name might suggest this form consists of four, four line stanzas. As is typical of French forms there is a Refrain, but what is unusual is that there is no rhyme sequence specified.
As is normal with French poetry it consists of eight syllable lines with no meter specified.
The Refrain is the first line of the first stanza, which becomes the second line of the second stanza, the third line of the third stanza and finally the last line of the last stanza.
Tease

Tease my eyes, you glimmer of God!
Dance your morning dance upon treetops,
Mould your glow to the mountain ridge!
My eyes averted from your rising glory.

That glory shows as morning grows
Tease my eyes, you glimmer of God!
Take your rightful place in the sky,
That in looking we are guided by.

Day well begun, following your track,
I watch you playing hide and seek.
Tease my eyes, you glimmer of God!
Slipping behind the gathering clouds.

Black bottomed, usurping clouds gather
Or are they only an affected mantle?
Occasionally I see a smile and know you
Tease my eyes, you glimmer of God!

Ryter Roethicle
Leny takes a more conventional route.
Yoga II

I feel my vertebrae align
as seat-bones touch the floor, relax;
my crown is raised into the air-
in breathing deeply, I'm aware.

In concentration freedom grows-
I feel my vertebrae align.
All speeding thoughts have come to rest;
blue light now fills my lungs and chest.

Both feet in contact with the earth-
her energy flows through my limbs.
I feel my vertebrae align
as clear white light enfolds my spine.

In balance with the world within,
the present moment matters most;
devotion rises from her shrine-
I feel my vertebrae align.

Leny Roovers
Although there need be no rhyme, in the example above, for the most part Leny chose rhyming couplets. In the example below Ryter chose to use alternating couplets, but was not overly restrained by the eight syllable lines.
Wake Up

You are like a voice from a distant star
Calling to my spirit self through time
The distance traveled can be so far
Yet your soul is in sync with mine.

Is this what love is all about, and
You are like a voice from a distant star
Words gathered each morn like sand
Even from arid and distant Zanzibar.

Distance and love should ne'er be bar
Nor be feared that you give freely.
You are like a voice from a distant star
And after easy thought, given easily.

There is no choice to make this time
Love is offered and we have gone so far
And so I tell you, I am thine
You are like a voice from a distant star

Ryter Roethicle

Forever Love

You still hold the key to my heart,
Your face that lingers in my mind
Memories of you that engulf me
Because you were one of a kind.

And though its been such a long time
You still hold the key to my heart,
There was no way to return it
When the time came for us to part.

Thoughts of you inhabit my head,
Dreams of you make sleeping worthwhile;
You still hold the key to my heart
And though gone you still make me smile.

I wonder if you can look down
And see though I made a new start,
After all this time without you,
You still hold the key to my heart.

Heartbeats

My heart is all the things I've ever been,
The best and worst of me in just one place,
I've felt it throb so many times I know
If hearts could burst that would have been the case.

I've felt it race when my loved one comes near,
My heart is all the things I've ever been,
Have felt it felt it quiver with such tenderness,
This heart of mine that I have never seen.

But hatred has at times possessed my heart,
'Til bitterness and anger overflow,
My heart is all the things I've ever been
Most noble, with a darker undertow.

My heart has suffered pangs of searing pain,
Been broken, healed and remains evergreen
To live and love and laugh as if to prove
My heart is all the things I've ever been.

The House

The house is on a little hill,
Surrounded by all kinds of trees
All laden with their luscious fruit,
As stately palms dance in the breeze.

I look down on the sea below,
The house is on a little hill
And sit for hours in the sun
Just meditating, being still.

Or sometimes I walk to the beach
To get the feel of ocean spray,
The house is on a little hill
So it is not too far away.

And in the distance I can see
The tankers as they come to fill
Their bellies with our LNG,
The house is on a little hill.

Death of the Season of Love

Every month is Decembers month,
The only month I ever knew
That I loved you all the rest
Of the year, yet beyond time.

Since June can never be our time,
Every month is Decembers month,
Every time is the hour for us,
When roses bloom eternally.

Forever isn't meant to be
Within grasp of fleeting love's hand,
Every month is Decembers month
Because the hands I held were cold,

The heart that ran too slow for sands
Falling through the hourglasses
Cystern of forgotten moments,
Every month is Decembers month.

Emptiness

Bring the emptiness to words
Important to sentences flow,
Go within to find what is
Being that awareness of the now.

Present in the now of yourself
Brings the emptiness to words
No thoughts of past or future
Without shape, color or design.

Come to oneness of pure being,
Only self can be this,
Bringing the emptiness to words
Neutral ground zero.

Free from minds chains
Linked only to the beauty
Beautiful self inside,
Brings the emptiness to words.

-----

Facade, Falcade and Frescade

This mask we all wear about town
Is the fascade of a cultures
Religion, politics and pomp,
So many people are urbane.

Urbanity becomes the cross,
This mask we all wear about town
Sottishly walking through our lives
Though lives of others be boorish.

The boors are treated like low sops
Whose soppishness becomes the norm,
This mask we all wear about town
Is the falcade of high horses.

Let horses go for a frescade
In the shade of true normalcy
While the plain folks try to take up
This mask we all wear about town.

-----

Fight Meet Match

Pull the rug out of flames
Bring home the remains,
What remains you can't snuff out
Just shout at the match in the box.

Try taking away the fight,
Pull the rug out of flames
Those flames you started with a stick,
Stones to my bones of sand.

Falling through the cracks of sane
Landing hard on cemented shoes,
Pull the rug out of flames
I'll douse it in the sea of fights!

Fight in 3D you'll lose the gain
Gaining nothing till the 11th
An inning from angelic dimensions
Pulls the rug out of flames.

-----

Hellscene

light within dispelling pure dark,
encaged in an empty hull
scene unreal emerges born of
fears and tears of the nights between

melancholy on Samhain becomes
light within dispelling pure dark,
somber, even unholy claws
fear that the reaper is too near

near enough to carve his name on
thee, thy trembling before candles
light within dispelling pure dark,
burn low down to see his red eyes

peering at thee from blackened pits
with red orbs glowing brightly high
flickering as your delight dies,
light within dispelling pure dark.

Love You More

I love you more than addictions
To feelings romance can create,
To ambience lust has me in
And for words, more than merely nice.

To hear your voice is not enough.
I love you more than addictions
To sounds of music in my ears;
The symphony is just our love.

What love carries a baser note,
Or a flamboyant fluer de lis...
I love you more than addictions
To trappings, gifts or graced petals.

For love of lust there is one cure,
That feelings can't truely assure,
But echo hands and heart that warm...
I love you more than addictions.

-----

Recording it all

I wish I could record
A poem of mine,
Hear words from a page
Spilt into air wave raves,

From the moment of creation
I wish I could record
The celebration of a moment
Caught on sound bytes,

By revelations of my souls
Thoughts presented for consumption
I wish I could record
To play back to the Universe.

Then and now my voice lets loose
Sometimes in a gray scale
And other times a rainbow,
I wish I could record.

-----

Seasons of Rebirth

For a season of rebirthing
The earthling commandeers all climes
Harvests out of time without care
Claiming science knows all that's best.

Yet for the rest of these natives
For a season of rebirthing
There is still pristine forests green
An Eden dream untouched by men.

When it comes to love there's no time
Only seasons of bundling
For this season of rebirthing
Bonding two souls, making one.

So let the lovers go and dream
Of Eden greens consecration
Forever to be fully whole
For a season of rebirthing.

Winter Queen

Winters Queen is Mab, so they say,
A cat eyed Fae totally white
Resplendent in her crystaline gown
Highly renowned for beauty.

Finger tips that do scintillate
Winters Queen is Mab, so they say
Blue green shimminering with a spate
Emmanating from each her hands.

Like her breath when the winds spin gales
Her feline voice cries out wiht wails,
Wintere Queen is Mab, so they say
She sob's with snowflakes as her tears.

. And then when Summers Queen comes by
To say hello with warmth of sun,
Frosty icicles weep from loss
Winters Queen is Mab, so they say.

Your Form

There was this form shadowing me
It studied my lines to make shapes,
First the outline then the insides
Truely, it looked like I did.

Round here, straight there, square somewhere else
There was this form shadowing me,
At first it drew shapely curves for
Which my eyes could feast, thereby know

It wasn't really me, just forms
That took the place of all that's real,
There was this form that shadowed me
Followed every move, missing none.

So he seems to have grasped it all
My shape and movements on the wall.
On the floor it laid my soul bare,
This was your form that shadowed me.

All Wet

exuding drops of liquid spill
a lullaby of gentle rain
has sent me off to sleep again
within a shower of dreams until

awakened by a stream of light
exuding drops of liquid spill
my dreams and yet they cling on still
to moistened skin in raw delight

full splash descends from such a height
as cascades flow and send a thrill
exuding drops of liquid spill
in fluid movement to ignite

a passion drowned in downpour's chill
while cats and dogs sing their refrain
as downcast eyes well up and drain
exuding drops of liquid spill.

Cradlesong ~ Claire de Lune

As starry eyed she sees the light,
a crescent moon sways up above.
No clouds to hide her beam tonight.
Her smile is bright and clear as love.

She looks below while slumber rests,
as starry eyed she sees the light.
For dreamers settled in their nests,
her wish is sent for sweet delight.

And as she rocks, her hopes held tight,
she hums a moonlit cradlesong,
as starry eyed she sees the light
in harmony where all belong.

Her music calms the nightwind's cares.
Soft breezes drift in waves of night
among its ocean's twinkling prayers,
as starry eyed she sees the light.

In Silence

in silence I hear music play
as birds are noted for their song
and soar above high sea with ease
or rest on lines transmitting sound

on rippling waves or thunderous roar
in silence I hear music play
eternally a rhythmic voice
emotions tied to ebb and flow

a symphony of wind and strings
from soft caress to vibrant bursts
in silence I hear music play
as rushes brush their breezy air

for hearts will beat in harmony
amidst such euphony of soul
a timeless essence everywhere
in silence I hear music play

Shadow Skin

My shadow slipped into the sea
in solitude, a satin veil,
adrift on sands of shaded pale,
in wafts of visibility.

It cast a mask of fringing fear.
My shadow slipped into the sea.
A surface showed a shallow me,
as shivers rippled, ever near.

Afloat with hope, it persevered,
alight with luminosity.
My shadow slipped into the sea.
Abandoning, it disappeared.

I stayed, not wishing to be free,
as though, it was, I'd shed a skin ~
and wondered, "Where do I begin?"
My shadow slipped into the sea.

Alone

Comforted only by this semi darkness
As hypnotic flickering candles shine
How could my life be such a mess
Now I sit here alone drinking my wine.

Reminiscing about each midnight kiss
Comforted only by this semi darkness
The mountain of love now the deepest abyss
Instead of happiness now nought but stress.

There was a time of mutual happiness
What is laughter but the start of sighs
Comforted only by this semi darkness
Is fantasy just another world of lies?

I tried to talk to you and make amends
But instead all it did was create a mess
But you won't talk, so how can we be friends
Comforted only by this semi darkness?

Come Take My Hand

Come take my hand my winter angel
No longer in spring or summer bright
Lush green colours are no longer visible
The days share equal time with night.

Our legacy the colours of red and gold
Come take my hand my winter angel
The harvest gathered, the crop are sold
Our future life stretching out forever.

Lush green colours are no longer visible
Evenings sat by a fire in a comfy chair
Come take my hand my winter angel
Winds from cooler seas now chill the air.

What we have earned, time alone is best
Our future life stretching out forever.
This time is ours in our own private nest
Come take my hand my winter angel.

Everything

You came into my dreams with your smile
Waking me up from the lethargy of life.
That look would eternally beguile
Any man, and destine him to an afterlife.

In search of that one look, that time again.
You came into my dreams with your smile
Knowing full well your heart is not of stone
Would repeat that smile and win your swain.

Having won your prize, think nothing less of this
You now possess my heart and soul and more
You came into my dreams with your smile
But I will not be your abject slave, no way!

Instead I will be won, with a simple kiss
Wilfully ignoring what fate has in store
Knowing finally, what that look had to say
You came into my dreams with your smile.

Falling Leaves

With the gathering of my thoughts
it occurred to me that we are seasonal
each colour of season symbolizes our life
yeah or nay our life is changing colour.

now I am out amongst the falling leaves
with the gathering of my thoughts
and the dark of the first night
of this symbolic Autumn.

what must I then wish my leaf to be
born on an Autumn wind
with the gathering of my thoughts
spiralling and flitting in an April sky

bright yellow or deep red
is the colour so important now
as you silently watch me dance
with the gathering of my thoughts.

-----

Good Night

It is now that special time of night
There is no time or need to think at all
The muse has me and taken o'er control
The mood is softened by wine and light.

At last a love that makes me whole
It is now that special time of night
One I know too well has touched my soul
There's no past memory only what is right

She reminds me of the past and loves lost
Knowing thus, gladly will I meet the cost
It is now that special time of night
The music is softer now, in fact just right.

Even more the wine's softened the mood
Realising finally love's no cause for fright
Enough of life today we have viewed
It is now that special time of night.

-----

In The Darkness

In the darkness I find my fear
Feeling, hearing every sound
Lying here powerless to fight
Totally aware of the dark .

Then I feel the first sharp bite
In the darkness I find my fear
The sensation the acid burns
Feeling, hearing every sound.

I feel them everywhere now
Penetrated a million times
In the darkness I find my fear
Voracious appetites I feed.

My body now a piece of meat
In the darkness I find my fear,
Feeling, hearing every sound
In the darkness I find my fear.

Journey on a Different Path

Enjoy the mystery that the moon inspires,
And walk down paths you have never trod
Perhaps this will lead you to a path
Where experience will not help you

Then you must take your heart in your hand
Enjoy the mystery that the moon inspires,
And surrender it and risk breaking it
Too the complete stranger you see before you.

Who is your guide along this strange path?
Experience says, "Ignore this stranger".
Enjoy the mystery that the moon inspires,
Don't take the familiar path and walk alone.

That guide could be your soul partner,
And even if you break your heart again
You have walked a different path.
Enjoy the mystery that the moon inspires.

-----

Kinaesthesia

Still the rivers dance as starlight twinkles
And clouds like dreams fly across the sky
Eve's wind gently waves the ranunculales
Almost as if wishing the dying day goodbye.

Birds go silent and then finally fall asleep
Still the rivers dance as starlight twinkles
The bat and rat rampage whilst others creep
There's still the water waltzing across pebbles.

Nights creatures emerge smiling at the night
And mother moon arises and spreads her light.
Still the rivers dance as starlight twinkles
Some creatures settling see them do circles.

Then is the time when creatures stop and stare
Seeing the moon and stars for what they do
They rule the heavens for all those who care
Still the rivers dance as starlight twinkles.

-----

Lost and Found

I lost my heart to a heart unknown
Hidden deep within my tangled mind
Around which has hard callous grown.
I did not look for love nor expect to find

My mind was set and my heart like stone
I lost my heart to a heart unknown
And to all temptation I had gone blind.
Until I met you who makes me whole.

Now there is one that claims my soul
On waking I think still of my heart
I lost my heart to a heart unknown
But now I can see that it is well,

Held in the hands of someone
Who was a stranger and now a part
Who gives a look to me as if to tell
I lost my heart to a heart unknown.

-----

No Regrets

I do not regret my life or lose sleep
As it passes like smoke from a chimney
And Winters cold cannot make me weep
Bruises and broken limbs are often costly.

I am content with things now as they be
I do not regret my life or lose sleep
The lessons learned did not come free
Yet love is finally here with vows to keep.

Still you stir so many emotions deep
Not losing freshness of passions eye
I do not regret my life or lose sleep
Yet I notice how quickly time goes by.

I recognise happiness for what it truly is
It is not something that is bought cheap
And is earned by truth there is no quiz
There's no need for regret or to lose sleep.

-----

Once Again

It was good whilst it lasted
but it's the end of my dream
and now I must wake up
face reality once again.

I should have known better
It was good whilst it lasted
I guess I was hoping
Fate had moved on once again.

I still walk around
and remember each scene
It was good whilst it lasted
but now it is daylight again

But now I know different
as I'll get out my First Aid
and fix my heart once again
It was good whilst it lasted

-----

Riverbank Scene

I see you sitting under the Stringy Bark
The leaves flickering shadows about you
Your form ablaze with afternoon sunlight
Turning pages of an unknown book.

Colours flooding from around and behind
I see you sitting under the Stringy Bark
A sparkling of wild flowers at your feet
As though attentive of your reading to them.

Waving and swaying like thoughtful suitors
Captivated by stories pouring from your lips.
As I see you sitting under the Stringy Bark
Tales of lands unseen except with your mind.

Of moons and suns and world undreamed of
Boundaries unknown and lovers yet to love
Their stories released as by their magic spells.
As I see you sitting under the Stringy Bark.

-----

Veils Lifted

Now I know, and your doubt can see,
Leaving me knowing where to start.
The mouth that would seem to call me,
Could not tell me about your heart.

I have looked up into the stars for a sign
Now I know, and your doubt can see,
Searched all the lands and all the seas
The answer was in your eyes all the time.

Now finally in a reality that is divine
We have felt our minds touch at last
Now I know, and your doubt can see,
Realise at last our souls will combine.

What will happen now is up to us,
Time and tide, is anybody's guess.
Yet I have the feeling all is well,
Now I know, and your doubt can see.

-----

What do I know?

What do I know, anything of thee
I touch thee and I feel thee shiver
I feel thy skin so soft to my touch
Yet as I touch thee I see change.

As I touch thee I see the lumps
What do I know, anything of thee
Thy skin whitens with goose-bumps
I touch thee and I feel thee shiver.

Thy eyes close and draw me close
Hold me to thee so strong thy hold
What do I know, anything of thee
I feel thy breath upon my face.

With all thy might you hold me in
A feeling so close, a feeling so divine
I touch thee and I feel thee shiver
What do I know, anything of thee.

Fields of Gold

If I should wade thro' fields of gold
yearning to discover parts of nature
within my life I had tried to be bold
to be part of a countryside feature

My scent shall be that of the musk
If I should wade thro' fields of gold
or further afield a harvest of husk
thus I know I shall never be bold.

Of youth of love my fate has a hold
fresh as the air I shall ever breathe
If I should wade thro' fields of gold
until husks out weigh their sheathe

Let the country breeze blow my hair
let the wonder of nature be my fold
all I shall pray for is my love to share
If we should wade thro' fields of gold.

-----

Hallows Eve

All hail the ghost of hallows eve
that haunt 'neath a moons light
mystic spells that sceptres weave
shall haunt the souls of the night.

Do not venture into the darkness
all hail the ghost of hallows eve
casting evil they cannot suppress
of a fear they shall ever retrieve.

This the night the devil deceives
influence now and of here after
all hail the ghost of hallows eve
within horrors upon lifes master.

Spells may be cast to one and all
a Satanic web shall ever weave
'it is then spirits may finally call
to hail the ghost of hallows eve.

-----

Hold Me

If you could only hold me by the hand
and lead me towards the stars above
as time stands still upon drifting sand
there may only be you for me to love.

Future existence may be our destiny
If you could only hold me by the hand
within thine eyes I may seek serenity
that takes no heed of a wedding band.

There is much more to understand
too late when love take's a stumble
If you could only hold me by the hand
we may make it through tho' humble

Shall we make it through this night
tomorrow may find yet another land
where we could forever see the light
if you could only hold me by the hand.

-----

Morning Dew

The morning dew drops like perspiration
that runs sensually down from the brow
shall waken feelings of loves temptation
O' good God I can hear them both now.

Who would of thought it that this was so
the morning dew drops like perspiration
but it shall only take two lovers to know
that caresses take place in participation.

Lovers may take a part within variation
it is all according to the way they feel
the morning dew drops like perspiration
upon the brow that they cannot conceal.

When they both have a task to prevail
there is no special need of acceleration
for they never do to badly for snails
upon morning dewdrops of perspiration.

-----

Mother of Mine

O' mother of mine how I miss you so
how could I forget the love you gave
that gentle touch that shall never go
within my memory of you I shall save.

You stood by me when I needed you
O' mother of mine how I miss you so
you taught me love and life as I knew
admiration you gave could only grow.

Tenderness you gave shall ever flow
when I wept tears you comforted me
O, mother of mine how I miss you so
the day shall come I must set you free.

Still I remember and shall not forget
you taught me all I should ever know
within your image I shall see you yet
O' mother of mine how I miss you so.

Noreen

Within the past before I ever knew you
never a thought was I within your mind
until you fell so in love that feelings grew
With maternal instincts of a mothers kind.

How I wish I had known you back then
within the past before I ever knew you
no maternal instincts of a mothers pen
until you fell in love and feelings grew.

An old photograph left just one of a few
I knew when I saw it, how I was blessed
within the past before I ever knew you
I felt the warmth your words caressed.

Now you have gone to the angels above
in a beautiful garden within heavens view
I know in my heart I shall share your love
within the future ahead when I see you.

Pure Quality

Her memories are of a cameo brooch
fastened upon her blue silken dress
compliment a grandmas final touch
within youth had meant to impress.

A lady of stature had much to lose
her memories are of a cameo brooch
which suitors had the right to chose
her maidenhood may or not approach.

Sat upright within a hackneyed coach
her present stature calm and demure
for memories are of a cameo brooch
adorned to appease her stature pure.

Chastity of past that may never fade
years to follow may forever reproach
for past time`s ladies remain as staid
fond memories are of a cameo brooch.

Reason for Seasons

Sad it is that leaves end up on a bon fire
pretty shades of red and burnished gold
should not they be saved from the pyre
and left to nurture green forests of old.

What of warmth earths blanket povides
sad it is that leaves end up on a bon fire
captured at play when a season divide`s
children have fun which nature inspires

Seasons that flow when autumn`s expire
shall ever return as within ancient times
sad it is that leaves end up on a bon fire
earth in return shall pay for these crimes.

For everything there shall remain a reason
upon dreams of seclusion of earths desire
to everything there shall e-er be a season
sad it is that leaves end up on a bon fire.

Satin et dentelle

Standing before him in satin and lace
in front of a mirror within imagination
she was so sure she had seen his face
behind her with a hint of anticipation.

She has felt his eyes warm upon her
standing before him in satin and lace
the kiss he gave was light as a feather
within fantasy of his warm embrace.

His touch held the passion of a lover
warmth inviting loves feelings within
standing before him in satin and lace
he touched her passionately all over.

Why must this be within inspiration
when softly fingers so willingly trace
all she ever felt was pure frustration
standing before him in satin and lace.

Scattered Images

Images may go gently on my mind
yet I cannot find the one I need
for a muse that is so disinclined
how then may I expect to succeed.

floating particles may pass on by
images may go gently on my mind
none that suits the phrases of I
that may be a part of human kind.

Figments of dreams partly awaken
eyes with anticipation may reach
images may go gently on my mind
rhyme with songs that ever teach.

A floating pen that glides smoothly
shall feel the quality of art to find
upon art distinction shown lavishly
images may go gently on my mind.

The Soldiers Lad

It breaks the heart of a soldiers lad
his father never returned from war
only his horse was all he ever had
far from the thundrous battle roar.

A hero was never meant to survive
it breaks the heart of a soldiers lad
who prayed that he remained alive
but the finality of it all was so sad.

Far between the good and the bad
tho' proud within of a fathers plight
it breaks the heart of a soldiers lad
only in death he gave up the fight.

Memories of past never shall fade
only to miss the father he once had
who shall ever be absent on parade
it breaks the heart of a soldiers lad.

Song Birds

Soon our song birds will all be leaving
cold winter winds shall be on the way
leafless trees of boughs still weaving
shall not shelter from clouds of grey.

Where then may all of our wild life go
soon our song birds will all be leaving
If December winds forecast the snow
shall be a cruel month to be grieving.

Winters survival may be disbelieving
where the fodder within shall be low
soon our song birds will all be leaving
to warmer lands where all shall grow.

Empty nests upon an old broken bough
nothing is left of the past to be grieving
but time shall never break those vows
soon our song birds will all be leaving.

Sound Of Silence

Come listen to the sound of silence
when there is nobody else around
no sound upon the autumn breeze
so strange this all may seem to be.

Even the birds have all flown away
come listen to the sound of silence
no noise from traffic driving forth
nor children on the way to school.

Trains go by upon the railway track
I cannot hear the planes in the sky
come listen to the sound of silence
all is so peaceful but why I wonder.

Maybe we moved to another galaxy
where only archangels softly tread
no sound barrier shall break adrift
come listen to the sound of silence.

Embracing Love

Feel soft the breeze thro`our hair
As we tread through fields of gold
This haven to me shall not compare
With the love that autumn shall hold.

Lift your eyes to a cool blue sky
Feel soft the breeze thro`our hair
Hear the songs of a lovers sigh
For they truly answer our prayers.

Sharing moments of love and care
Within natures warming embrace
Feel soft the breeze thro`our hair
As sunlight and shadows interlace.

Hold deep this memory forever clear
For always these moments we share
A tender touch shall ever be near
Feel soft the breeze thro`our hair.

Fantasia

I saw that warmth within your eyes
As they spoke of desires of love
Only precious love shall now portray
Those feelings that lay deep within.

Your tender touch thrilled me much
I saw that warmth within your eyes
As you whispered words of love
I knew then that our love was divine.

You are there within all my dreams
In sweet slumber and awakening
I saw that warmth within your eyes.
As you enclosed me in your arms.

That special look that melts my heart
When embers of passion glowed
In rapturous dreams of fantasia
I saw that warmth within your eyes.

-----

Heat Waves

Hot is the sun that bathes the flesh
Enticing deep the passions within
Tender waves of heat shall caress
Desires within the realms of sin.

Wild are the flames of erotic fires
Hot is the sun that bathes the flesh
Burning the senses unto desires
Sparks the flare of a lovers quest.

Dripping beads upon thy breasts
Perspirations which drench thy brow
Hot is the sun that bathes the flesh
When wanton fevers then endow.

Anon there shall be dying embers
Winds of time hath arisen from rest
All too soon when passion lingers
Hot is the sun that bathes the flesh.

News At Neighbourhood Watch

I only joined neigbourhood watch
For a shiny new badge to wear
They gave me a pair of binoculars
Which around my neck I do bear.

Never been one to stick in my nose
I only joined neighbourhood watch
But I peep behind my lace curtains
And I shone my big battery torch.

Oh my goodness I have got to go !!!
Someone is screaming over the road
I only joined neighbour hood watch
But I have never been a one to goad.

Looks like they are having a rave up
Binoculars lens steaming with scorch
Maybe I had better go `join` them
Like I only joined neighbourhood watch.

Paper Flowers China Moon

Of paper flowers beneath a China moon
So delicate the blush of red he paints
Of tinted buds that shall awaken soon
To adorn the crowns of angels or Saints

How precious a jewel to bloom so free
Of paper flowers beneath a China moon
Fragile petals floating forth to the sea
That calmly rests by an oceans lagoon.

How canst this wonder flourish so soon
From withered boughs once were bare
Of paper flowers beneath a china moon
That bloomed when not a bud was there.

Had an artists brush created this scene
Of the delicate petals his art had strewn
This masterpiece that has simply been
Of paper flowers beneath a China moon.

Rendezvous

When I close my eyes and think of you
Of days and nights shared together
Now embedded deeply within view
Memories I shall remember forever.

I shall always remember our first kiss
When I close my eyes and think of you
Those nights together were utter bliss
And I know you felt the same way too.

As time passed by my feelings grew
I knew we were meant for each other
When I close my eyes and think of you
I could never fall in love with another.

Some day soon when the time is right
We continue our blissfull rendezvous
My dreams come true shall re- ignite
When I close my eyes and think of you.

Satin Sheets

To lie betwixt soft satin sheets
And dream of thy lovers caress
Of warmth and passion therein
Upon the heat of a summer eve.

There is a feeling of sensuality
To lie betwixt soft satin sheets
Inducing an eve of lusty dreams
In a fantasy of restless sleep.

Oh if only these desires came true
Those erotic delights of the flesh
To lie betwixt soft satin sheets
With an intensity of lust therein

Entranced in dreams of emotion
With the touch of a lovers hand
Leading gently with keen desires
To lie betwixt soft satin sheets.

Spirits of Trees

Hail blythe spirits of woodland sage
Now hath arisen from days gone by
From the heart of an aged forest tree
To harken the screech of an owl cry.

Returns from the dark age to rebirth
Hail blythe spirits of woodland sage
Thy sap still lies deep within thy girth
With boughs that lived a sacred age.

Dark the forest that breathes no light
When growth is forbidden to flourish
Hail blythe spirits of woodland sage
No longer replenished to nourish.

Goodness of soil must be returned
It is writ in mother natures page
All that is lost must always go back
Hail blythe spirits of woodland sage.

Torment

What is this torment I feel inside
That warns me of a broken heart
Making me want to run and hide
When love is lost how do I start.

Why do I shrink in crowded rooms
What is this torment I feel inside
I fade away when a shadow looms
Devoid of my confidence and pride.

If I cannot take life in its stride
If all is lost then how do I cope
What is this torment I feel inside
Might there be a glimmer of hope.

How then when I find love do I chose
Shall I be right in my mind to decide
Or shall I be wrong and again I lose
What is this torment I feel inside.

Trumpet Flower

Trumpet flower come play thy tune
From thy sweet scented core within
Golden delights of honey in June
Upon stamens of nectar therein.

Over the mountain tips and far away.
Trumpet flower come play thy tune
Call the sun to enlighten this day
For dark shall now be upon you soon.

Through the meadows down the lane
Dancing through the ripening corn
Trumpet flower come play thy tune
Sing thy praise to a new day born.

Go home honey bee for dark is nigh
Soon we shall see the harvest moon
Shadows reaching towards the sky
Trumpet flower come play thy tune.

Victim

How could she see the dangers ahead
Thumbing a lift down a country lane
She had no sense in her young head
Risking a chance that was quite insane.

If she screamed no one would hear
How could she see the dangers ahead
Did no one ever warn her of this fear
Or did she shrug them aside instead.

She was too naive and easily misled
And had known not how or even why
How could she see the dangers ahead
When never a soul could hear her cry.

All too often this misfortune prevails
Mothers today are oft` filled with dread
This was a girl who once wore pony tails
How could she see the dangers ahead.

Words Of Love

All too freely were words of love used
Without a thought of true meaning
Is it any wonder we are confused
An unexpected phrase of feeling.

Can it be what we speak of is untrue
All too freely were words of love used
Is to love what we are all meant to do
Or is the definition very often abused.

Is it heart beats that is then accused
Or has misted eyes revealed the same
All too freely were words of love used
And should not be spoken with shame.

When feelings are felt from deep inside
Within the strength of that love infused
Shall then run smooth within their stride
All too freely were words of love used.

I hope your pathways remain clear
treasure all mankinds achievments

for living right is a fine art
It all goes by too fast my dear
long kisses end and lovers part
live free of bad habits and fear

This much I will tell you my love
listen to the songbirds sing cheer
It all goes by too fast my dear
watch every sunrise climb above

Give love and hope to those that need
the future presents each premier
that teaches how to plant the seed
It all goes by too fast my dear

Years

I've seen the changes through the years
Two strangers once now they are one
Together they've been through it all
Hand in hand they've opened life's doors

Laughing and enjoying same things
I've seen the changes through the years
Like seeds that mature and still bloom
Reaching their middle years with grace

A little greyer than their youth
A little slower getting up
I've seen the changes through the years
Time to relax now whats the rush

At times there is no need for words
Two people that don't have to speak
Content to fill their souls with love
I've seen the changes through the years

When the Rains Come

When the rains come I tilt my face,
Letting life soak me to the skin
With welcome to each drop that falls,
Sliding soft like tears to chin.

Regarding each as lifetimes spent.
When the rains come I tilt my face,
A mingling of joy and tears,
Of paths that led me to this place

Where sorrow hand in hand resides
With gladness as she bravely sings.
When the rains come I tilt my face
Toward each gift that living brings.

I will not turn away again
But meet each dawn with truth and grace,
Accepting all that life bestows.
When the rains come- I tilt my face.

Crying Out In the Night

Those beads recalling all the things I dread
Old incantations from surrendered knees
Filling my mind with words I should not have read
And I cannot hear the whispering breeze

I look around me, no chance to escape,
Those beads recalling all the things I dread
And my soul lives again the endless rape
That tortured my heart from daybreak to bed.

I pray the thoughts would simply leave my head
And let me lead the life I now desire
Those beads recalling all the things I dread
Still burning inside me like hell's own fire

My Lady sees me crying out in the night
And led me to the world of ancient dead
I saw the Pagan ways of light ignite
Those beads recalling all the things I dread

Radiant Ladies

Come dance in Springtide's earthy light
In gardens now a-washed with gold
They bid farewell to Winter's bite
Those radiant ladies I am told.

As life is found in ancient ways
Come dance in Springtide's earthy light
To welcome signs of warmer days
When length of day equals the night.

Balance in life is my sweet delight
When knelt in praise to holy queen
Come dance in Springtide's earthy light
She says to me in voice serene.

So drummer, give my feet a beat
May your rhythm still lead me right
To the place where the spirits meet
To dance in Springtide's earthy light.

Sin of Science

The claim that science let the old gods die;
In our wisdom we needed them no more.
They did not speak like they did once before;
We had no time to pray or wonder why.

Our quest for power has brought global pain
The claim that science let the old gods die;
In plumes of smoke that bore the acid rain
We let our poisons destroy earth and sky.

In words of politics we heard Man's lie;
We took control of fate to sate our greed.
The claim that science let the old gods die;
We took and stole from those with greater need.

Mid crimes of hate we voice protest, at last;
And whispered truths have heard our sorrow cry,
As faith returns to see beyond and past
The claim that science let the old gods die.

Slow Bits

Within the rushing world that's lost to time,
The time to sit and wonder why birds sing,
Or read a book of prose or charming rhyme;
No time to whisper love or simply ring.

Why must our lives be such a saddened waste?
Within the rushing world that's lost to time,
Our children grow and live in equal haste,
As we ne'er stopped to hear their voices chime.

So take a breath, inhale the fragrant pine,
Before the world has gone and left you to rot!
Within the rushing world that's lost to time,
We have become fools that should be forgot.

Permit your feet to walk a slower pace,
To feel the Earth beneath, it is no crime,
For life is ours to live, it's not a race,
Within the rushing world that's lost to time.

Two Sisters

To friends that dance in darkest night
They raise the power of witches' spell
As voices chant in candle light
In ways of wise they know so well.

In harmony their music sings
To friends that dance in darkest night
Releasing love on angels' wings
Two sisters sharing magic rite.

The Lady fair comes into sight
And claims the old ways survive
To friends that dance in darkest night
In arcane blue their workings strive.

Within the circle they are bound
Two sisters soon to take their flight
Across the sky the cosmic sound
To friends that dance in darkest night

Thus We Share

Inhabitant of my soul, thus we share
Where room is asked with ghostly stare
What breath is held, then taken away
Beguiled smiles make billowy brides

Hearing peaceful coo, within us resides
Inhabitant of my soul, thus we share
I consider myself: child; eyed innocent
soft glow of your letters: have mercy.

Amount of time, around us shorten
Build my love in Babylon spires
Inhabitant of my soul, thus we share
Hair of heather, hands bound together

Deep in the well of love's lunacy
We’ll dry in fires of perpetual peace
Gently turns the leaves, rainbows rapture
Inhabitant of my soul, thus we share

Solo Performance

A jumping bean performs solo
He is Pablo, from Mexico;
I marvel at his agile moves...
This jumping bean has quite a groove!

I stay to watch though I should go
A jumping bean performs solo;
He entertains with vibrant style...
I shall be watching him awhile.

Money is tossed at tiny feet
Cameras click and fingers tweet;
A jumping bean performs solo...
The crowd adores his feisty show!

He jumps so high into the air
Pablo exudes a special flair;
One final jump before he goes...
A jumping bean performs solo.

Lost at Sea

A mastless ship now lost at sea
With no maps or places to go
For all the stars have left the sky
I have nothing left to go by

My heart is empty, shot by pain
A mastless ship now lost at sea
A mere speck in the endless blue
And no idea of what to do

A writer's words mean nothing now
When eyes of love no longer read
A mastless ship now lost at sea
For she was my reason to be

Should I swim or wait here to drown
There is no horizon to reach
For my words no longer save me
A mastless ship now lost at sea.

A Cup 'O Kindness

Tonight, I only want to laugh;
In truth, it hurts too much to think;
I'm always sifting wheat from chaff
And drowning where I cannot drink.

As if I loved the whole wide world,
Tonight, I only want to laugh;
And leave this happy smile unfurled
To let it be my epitaph!

A future flag may fly half staff,
But I would put an end to fear;
Tonight, I only want to laugh
And wish the world, Happy New Year;

That peace and progress soon would reign,
And all good people feast and quaff
In earthly paradise again!
Tonight, I only want to laugh!

Defining Moment

We must be, by definition
Of the journey, in the middle;
Determining our position
Makes for an interesting riddle.

To be in this vicinity,
We must be, by definition,
A measurable proximity
From the primary ignition.

Thus, by simple intuition,
Excusing my temerity,
We must be, by definition,
Half the way through eternity.

But judging how child-like we rage,
In the face of true cognition,
Though I doubt we're acting our age;
We must be, by definition.

Limited Warranty

There being no manual for the heart,
How did you obtain skill enough
To join and tear mine fresh apart;
All without handling me too rough?

I am not made of hardened steel;
There being no manual for the heart,
The more you probe, the worse I feel,
The less remains here to impart.

That's life; impossible to chart
Such realms of possibility,
There being no manual for the heart.
With constant inconsistencies,

It makes no sense then, to pretend
To cure myself, nor to be smart
Enough to guess how things will end;
There being no manual for the heart.

Mute Testimony

I can't say my heart is broken,
More aptly, it's rusted away;
From being left out in the open
In all your weather, night and day.

As it happened so discreetly,
I can't say my heart is broken;
It just came apart so neatly,
My endurance, but a token.

As drop by drop, rain fills oceans,
A process taking many years,
I can't say my heart is broken;
But quietly unnoticed, tears

Have cut a channel through the stone.
Still, as grief once left unspoken
Becomes exposed like fossile bone,
I can't say my heart is broken.

Selective Service

Three steps up, bow to your lady,
Circle around her to your right,
Though she turns away your favors,
You do your best to stay in sight.

Zig to the left, bobbing your head;
Three steps up, bow to your lady;
Pretend to pick up crumbs of bread,
That way, she'll know you're not lazy.

Zag to the right, coo like crazy,
You'd surely win if you could sing;
Three steps up, bow to my lady,
Show her the three stripes on your wing.

Little grey corporal, try your dance
On her girlfriend; looks like maybe
You don't rate; guess she likes sergeants!
Three steps up, bow to your lady.

Winter's Web

Winter's web drapes over the earth
Sifting through branches up so high
Soft fibers spread upon the ground
Tranquil visions frame nature's trance

Innocence on a moonlit night
Winter's web drapes over the earth
Blanketing bulbs that sleep below
Til time for them to show new birth

Footsteps crackling a path to home
Wind burned faces, watery eyes
Winter's web drapes over the earth
Harmony, in season's cycle

Hot cocoa warm my hands and lips
Shoulders wrapped in soft quilted down
Embers in fireplace scent my room
Winter's web drapes over the earth.

Blest

We shall see the future and become one Blest
Walk along path I shall hold your hand baby
When hunger strikes, we shall eat and rest
I shall hold you in my tender arms, alone we be

Soft whispers of our love to each other we speak
We shall see the future and become as one Blest
Each moment and movement of love we seek
We'll caress our souls with radiate loving zest

I shall sooth your beautiful skin with a soft crest
No lingering in gray clouds; your eyes will shine
We shall see the future and become one Blest
To touch your soul and fill you; you shall be mine

Caress me with scrumptious lips; I'm yours to expand
Tonight we found heavenly bliss, we professed
Tomorrow comes bringing us more to love and;
We shall see the future and become one Blest.

OUCH! OH NO! NOT IAMBICS!

Because I admit I am dumb, thinking I could ever write Iambic
I’ll never find nor understand the meaning with this candle stick
That’s dulling my vision to view online Iambics schooling tricks
The pleasing words full of drama I see at mere times when it flicks

I’m sure when writing I must have one Iambic in the line or is it
Because I admit I am dumb, thinking I could ever write Iambic
I find it very difficult to understand the process,; I am having a fit!
I find it very hard unscrambling the meaning and not easily to pick

Will we as writers of poetry ever understand just one Iambic
And what in the world is this meter feet, I only have two feet
Because I admit I am dumb, thinking I could ever write Iambic
So, I’ll walk to my pink kitchen and find goodies to drink and eat

Now that I’ve eaten, I have the force to break down and go to bed
From the thrill of being Stressed out to the limit of finding a Iambic
I ‘m pulling the hair out off my head so, I will take a nap instead
Because I admit I am dumb, thinking I could ever write Iambic

Often all seeds shall cover every wall
No longer be hateful nor lead

Cleansing soul placing hues of red,
Blue, green, pink, Orange and soft yellow
Stilled within thy soul, seeds to spread
And see love colors turn mellow

Thy love ripened from cropped fruits fed
to the loveliest one around
You'll lift love powers to astound
Stilled within thy soul, seeds to spread

Til The End Of Time

I have grown fonder of his image held within my mind
No other image has the power to touch nor steal
Each and every part of my inner soul as I unwind
He will shine brightly and attach peace at his will

His kindness entered and remains holding the key
I have grown fonder of his image held within my mind
He brought guidance whenever I could not see
I praise his glory which is slow at times to find

Enhanced by the powerful magic, each step is kind
His power be brought slow for thoughts to his friend,
I have grown fonder of his image held within my mind
I long to be by his side and hold him till the end

Someday I shall break though the burdens that hold,
My cravings still and fly away when nothingness I find
For now I will dream and caress the loving man so bold;
I have grown fonder of his image held within my mind

Tears For Only You

For Many more nights to shed rain drops
Hopes and dreams of clustered gray clouds
My mind consistently fills up with you
And thoughts of losing another loved one

I can only release and wipe tears that flow
For Many more nights to shed rain drops
No matter how much I try to see the sunshine
More rain becomes a continuous drowning

I know of no one whom flowered me so kind
My heart was painted and raised to the sunshine
For Many more nights to shed rain drops
Spoiling the reality of love I once held for you

Many years have flown by like wild Red birds
Yet some how, some way, I see you gush forth
Leaving my heart swirling in the darkest black
For Many more nights to shed rain drops

Glowing Moons

Rejoicing in glowing moons,
with star stuff flowing round my lips,
my heart can hear what the ears won't,
a melody of silvered hope.

Hesitant, I falter in fear,
rejoicing in glowing moons,
spinning in waves of energy
the whirlwinds of truth take their stand.

The galaxy has swept me up,
I have no form of which to speak,
rejoicing in glowing moons
I feel the tears, the ones I've wept.

Wings unfurl in memories soft,
my arms rise to the occassion,
I was blind before time began
rejoicing in glowing moons.

Looking Glass

Within a looking glass darkly,
your face emerges diamond bright,
a guiding soul, whispering love,
a thousand, million points of light.

Desperation suspends my heart
within a looking glass darkly,
covered in passions destructive
winds, transcends heavens stars sparkling.

I stand cloaked in ancient symbols,
carved by blood in hope enlightened,
within a looking glass darkly,
as it burns, the night re-lightens.

Behold woman, victory yours,
tempered sword held aloft lightly,
a heart, compassionate, reflects
within a looking glass darkly.

Through the mist I call your name

Through the mist I call your name
your sweet kiss upon my soul inflames
I see your face in my minds eye
reflected upon this water scry.

You glide upon the waters breath
through the mist I call your name.
The boat glides and ripples part
the wind still like the pulse in my heart.

Your smile welcomes as we each approach
your hand takes mine, so cold it feels.
Through the mist I call your name
and in your eyes your love burns.

Our lips kiss in a shroud of mist
your body feels so smooth and delicate.
Your memory fades as the boat comes to shore
Through the mist I call your name.

April in Melbourne

Standing in the shredded bark
Cast off by Gum trees in early autumn
As they prepare a new winters coat
Of dark grey, silver and brown.

The mornings now are cold
Standing in the shredded bark
The glare blinds and slows morning traffic
But by noon it will be warm enough

The morbid colours do not attest to death
Nor do they call for sleep
Standing in the shredded bark
Simply for a while they will be at peace

And their soon to be green leaves
Will welcome respite from drought
And the blazing, scorching sun
Still standing in the shredded bark.

Supplemento

And in the heat of day,
See a leaf as she plays in a thermal
Swirling with her sisters in a mad dance
Egged on by the music of birdsongs
As they pray to their God the sun,
But all too soon the shadows grow long
And the music ends and dancers sleep.

Blessed Heaven

Blessed Heaven pour down your tears,
You've washed away past summers ash,
In gentle drops that will now soak in,
And bring nature back to life once more.

Grey clouds are welcome with their gifts,
Blessed Heaven pour down your tears,
Constance pray, with easy labour
Pick the spots where rare you called

Oh welcome with your bless'd relief,
Shimmering plants are glossed by thee.
Blessed Heaven pour down your tears,
And see all life here supping with glee.

The scorched earth once brown with thirst,
Parched and cracked at last feels relief,
All those savoury scents gather whilst
Blessed Heaven pour down your tears.

Creatures of the night

Cry loudly now, creatures of the night
See leathered wings beat in the moonlight
The maidens open window comes in sight
Changing quietly he moves into her sight.

Hair askew in slumber on her bed she lies
Cry loudly now, creatures of the night
At first there is fear, then loves surprise
Her throat, her soul she offers, invites his bite

Bodies joined in passion their flesh ignite
With vows exchanged in hellish might
Cry loudly now, creatures of the night.
A Queen created of Darkness Flight

Together each night seeking a bloody prize
To feed their habit their perpetual rite
Eternal life, but death to see the sunrise.
Cry loudly now, creatures of the night.

Dark Lord

The night of moonlight gathers us,
In the distance night creatures call,
And I smile in anticipation,
I am thirsty and the nights begun.

The howl you hear is not a wolf,
The night of moonlight gathers us,
Nor is that creature flying, a bat,
In your mind you already know that.

Open your window and let me in,
I can promise you eternal life,
The night of moonlight gathers us,
Come join me, be a Vampire's wife.

Your throat so soft and white and bare,
You offer me, I pierce with care,
I have become your incubus,
The night of moonlight gathers us.

Finale in the Rain

On drizzling days in the forest of my mind
There is a power in grey, driving rain
Sometimes it's a power to overcome and
Sometimes it creates my most sombre moods

If only to cry like the sky, laden with tears
On drizzling days in the forest of my mind
Overcoming the large leafed trees of thought
That bow in deference to the purging water

Birds hunched and shivering on the branches
Sit mute, singing silenced, overcome
On drizzling days in the forest of my mind
Caused by a flood that created its own sound

Then gradually it eases and silence pervades
Save for the occasional dripping of ideas
That drips down on the cleansed sheet
On drizzling days in the forest of my mind

Grunido Estacional (Seasonal Grumling)

Winter is coming to this island again
Even though the day is lovely and warm
The nights are longer and getting cold
I feel winter is just around the corner.

The glare in the morn's straight in the eyes
Winter is coming to this island again
The drive into work is straight at the sun
As is the drive home over the bridge.

The morning chill soon dissipates
And blue skies are forecast for a while
Winter is coming to this island again
You can feel the chill in the SW wind.

We complain about heat in summer
We can't complain of the drought this year
But soon we'll complain about the cold
Winter is coming to this island again.

I sense you blowing on the wind,
I feel you still at my fingertips,
And see you smiling in my mind.

As heavenly dust of passion grips,
I taste your essence on my lips,
Your soul and body to unwind,
My will to lock and mind to bind.

Each night with dusk I feel a kind,
Of bond with you of honeyed sips.
I taste your essence on my lips,
And feel our very souls combine.

My lips your body too explore,
Closer now to Heavens door,
As unrestrained, passion grips,
I taste your essence on my lips.

Jealous for a while

The morning wind blows across your face
It's Nature's kiss and one I long to copy
I love the thought of my lips travelling,
Feeling the soft redness surrender to mine.

I envy and am jealous of that blessed wind
The morning wind blows across your face.
Should I be jealous that the wind is blessed
Or be proud knowing that you are mine?

It is neither as nature is our mother,
She is as such allowed to caress her child.
The morning wind blows across your face
And you feel the love she bestows on you.

Your eyes light, knowing you're loved so well
Your smile lights up the already happy day.
I bless the wind and nature for her gifts, as
The morning wind blows across your face.

No Yes in Yesterday

There is no yes in yesterday
Some beliefs may last forever
There are those you solemnly swear
And others are so easy to betray.

I've been around and done a lot
There is no yes in yesterday.
I'm thankful now for all I've got
Not regretting the bill I had to pay.

Some memories are not reality
Your mind creates what it wants to be
There is no yes in yesterday.
And don't worry its best that way.

What of the future what of dreams?
Dreams we should not be without
And hopes that we can build on
There is no yes in yesterday.

The Waratah

The Waratah waves at the midday sun,
Whilst our day at work is well begun.
See a sea of red on sandy soil,
And like the Lily she does not toil.

As fresh life o'er mountains starts to run,
The Waratah waves at the midday sun.
Nectar seeking birds in early spring,
Cause seeds to spread on wooden wing.

Beauteous seas from the Darling mouth,
Reach down to Conjola in the south.
The Waratah waves at the midday sun.
Born of flame when bushfires are done,

New South Wales art forms reveal,
This wondrous flower on their seal.
Revelling as being the chosen one,
The Waratah waves at the midday sun.

X Morning

Are you a long past memory of my life,
Portraying life as what used to be,
Or a fantasy of what I want to see
And very much different from reality?

Each morning do we really waken
Are you a long past memory of my life?
If you are, is it reality, the truth,
Or, do we sleep and dream our lives?

Are some pleasant moments denied
Portraying life as what used to be?
Are you a long past memory of my life
Or a fantasy of what I want to see?

Each morning do I wake to life
Seeing you there as in my dreams?
Ready once again to share our days
Are you a long past memory of my life?

Birds

As bramblings in the apple-tree
compete with sparrows for some seeds,
five finches scatter the debris
of leaves, among last autumn's weeds.

Each twitters, sings its own sweet tune,
as bramblings in the apple-tree
puff up small orange chests, to prune
their feathers, piping songs of glee.

In black-white streaks bold magpies flee
to sing their blue-tailed potpourri;
as bramblings in the apple-tree
are joined by blackbirds- reach high C.

A flock of jackdaws comes to search
the garden- on a feeding spree;
meek turtles hide in crown of birch,
as bramblings in the apple tree.

My heron

My heron found a mate this year.
A grumpy fellow, he appears
to have a soft side after all-
they've been together since last fall.

He flies up front; she's at his rear,
my heron found a mate this year.
They draw a mirrored silhouette-
my fish now face a double threat.

Last week he dared to intermix
with wires the gardener had fixed...
My heron found a mate this year
and to impress her, he caused fear

to fish and cats, who were alert;
peculiar meowing hit pay dirt-
I ran outside, he disappeared;
my heron found a mate this year.

My Lake

Ice covers her from shore to shore,
her breathing slowed, as wavelets froze;
against grey skies, a flight of geese
draws patterns on the lace of trees.

My lake is held in Winter's hand-
ice covers her from shore to shore
and whispers of cold eastern winds,
tear at frail plumes of reed, till thinned.

Below her surface fish await
deep in the mud, the birth of Spring.
Ice covers her, from shore to shore,
yet, hidden still, grows leaves' green core.

My breath forms clouds in evening's frost,
they drift over her waters- lost.
As sunset burns in bright decor,
ice covers her, from shore to shore.

Yoga IV

I'm breathing in; I feel the air
from deep within my belly rise,
expanding ribs- I am aware;
the flow of energy supplies

detachment from my tumbling mind;
I'm breathing in, I feel the air.
In concentration, I unwind-
each sequence is a silent prayer.

Surrendering tension and despair,
devotion leavens every pose;
I'm breathing in, I feel the air
unfurling petals of my rose.

Her climbing stem is strong and straight,
she wears no thorns, her skin is bare;
distracting thoughts at last abate-
I'm breathing in- I feel the air.

Yoga V

Each inhalation of fresh air
uplifts and makes me more aware;
in gently breathing out again,
I feel sweet relaxation reign.

The movements of my chest prepare
each inhalation of fresh air.
As belly and all ribs join in,
a complete breathing can begin.

In Pranayama I find peace-
to watch its motion, brings release.
Each inhalation of fresh air,
is exercised with conscious care.

A waft of incense fills my nose,
it curls around my naked rose;
in deep connection we now share,
each inhalation of fresh air.

Switch Engine song

Back down, hit the coupler and stretch
take the work train: flatcar, caboose
up the main line; leave it for now
set brake, uncouple, pull away

Retrieve the passenger consist
back down, hit the coupler and stretch
hook hoses and open the air cocks
test brakes; its good for the going

three horn blasts, now moving away
Switcher pulls up to the work train
back down, hit the coupler and stretch
release handbrake, head on up the line

Long day of trains on the railroad
move folks, do maintenance of way
song that the switchman is singing:
Back down, hit the coupler and stretch

A Book By Nietzsche, Burned

This eternal return, a curse!
He says. He throws the book aside.
This idea of life as finite,
That all he's done is a reprise

It's a bane to him, strips his bones.
This eternal return, a curse!
Paralyzes his ambition
leaves him nothing, empties his hours.

She takes the book and hope for peace
To find him in this darkest night.
This eternal return, a curse,
A dark terror he can't forget.

At last he sleeps. She tosses the book
Into the fire and drain his cup.
Tomorrow, he'll be just the same.
This eternal return, a curse.

If Only

If only I could prove how I love him
when my words dont come so easy
I know in my heart love is no whim
for my song is so bright and breezy.

Enticing thoughts enter my dreams
If only I could prove how I love him
shall it mean I shall go to extremes
and adore him forever limb to limb.

If I could describe my love in rhyme
of how I had longed for his embrace
If only I could prove how I love him
within my passion I shall ever trace.

So here I express a heart felt muse
amidst a tallow suppressed and dim
'tis only he that shall spark our fuse
If only I could prove how I love him.

Solitary Lover

I see you lit by my lamp at twilight
Looking at your form in the dusk
The light from your soul is bright
Reflecting out from sparkling eyes.

Your subtle scent is that of musk
I see you lit by my lamp at twilight
As softly a night creature cries
But that cry is of love as if seeing us.

My solitary dreams are of thee.
Thy lips in dreams sweeter than wine
I see you lit by my lamp at twilight
In shadows outlined deep I see.

The bitter taste of your absence
Make affirmations you are mine
Louder by the present silence.
I see you lit by my lamp at twilight.

Dreams of Reality

I thought I felt his arms around me last night
but I know within dreams it must have been
brighter were the stars than shone so bright
where images within were bound to be seen

but how must this of been when I was all alone
I thought I felt his arms around me last night
if it was imagination then I suppose I am prone
come then let the purest vanity see that light.

Why should I even think if this is wrong or right
for dreams they say shall but fade within dawn
I thought I felt his arms around me last night
but when I awakened the sensations had gone.

But the reality was not what I needed to know
they say out of ones mind has gone from sight
tho' there was nothing within reality to show
I just knew I felt his arms around me last night.
