April

The gorgeous pink and yellow pouis
Will soon be everywhere,
And green will be the other trees
From jealousy I fear;
And we'll hear whispers on the breeze
'April showers are here.'
With blue skies, aquamarine seas,
A lovely time of year.

-----

Colour Me

Colour me contented in shades of gold,
With streaks of midnight blue when I am sad
Splash red everywhere when I cannot hold
My anger, grey when doubts make me feel bad.
When hope abounds 'tis green in which I'm clad.
A chart with every colour that is me,
I never know what shade I'm going to be.

-----

Easter Reflections

A time for planting and fresh starts,
To bid the bad 'adieu,'
To let go of old wounds; those parts
That hurt, put them away
Once and for all; withdraw the darts
That pierced you through and through;
Embrace the joy Easter imparts,
It is a brand new day!

-----

I Man

He was a warrior alright,
His songs are history,
He walked the line 'twixt black and white,
An 'unchained melody';
And when he died a blazing light
Went out; and yet still he
From beyond continues the fight,
That legend Bob Marley.

-----

Living Waters

Come Living Waters wash away
Whatever sins stain me;
New ones, or those of yesterday
Committed mindlessly.
I know I only have to say
"Father forgive," and He
If I'm sincere, without delay
Pardons me instantly.

-----

Lucky Me

She had a birthday yesterday
She's eighty nine years old
Not that you'd think so anyway
Her face belies her years
A source of wisdom, a bright ray
Worth more than any gold.
I've been blessed more than I can say
She lightens all my cares.

-----

Water Woes

I live on a little island
With water everywhere,
And so I cannot understand
Why there should be a lack
Of it; why they must ration and
Have dry taps anywhere.
The supply should meet the demand
Something is out of whack

Spring Colors.

Easter promises sunlight
Golden for pink tulips
Just waiting for greener days hue,
Like summer reigns her ship
Into the harbor, her next flight
Is the voyage to tip
The scales of loves reddened view
Of two hearts sure eclipse.

-----

Stained Glass

Periwinkle are your two eyes
Lit by candlelight fire,
When storm drains trickle rain from skies
Too blue for desire.
Your stalker is loves own heart highs~
Antique white moons pyre
Pay soul rent stained with molten lies,
Poured glass, your attire.

-----

Upon the Waves

Upon the waves the mermaids play
Wearing old lace and gold,
They change the moon to shadows gray
Where angels can't be bold.
Lapping the shores wherever they
Land, the waves spare no hold,
Though moth and bird go as they may,
Frostbit hearts swim, I'm told.

Terry Clitheroe

Cold Days, Colder Nights

The sun is rising later now
The hotter days have gone
Summer's taken her final bow
And autumn's on the run.
Now dreams of sun and green leaf'd bough
Are those of things to come.
Or other times as mem'rys allow
For that's what they've become.

-----

Dreams Are At Your Feet

Tread soft my dreams are at your feet,
Take care else you step on them
Treat them light, they're all I contain
Please don't laugh or condemn.
That look you gave made me complete,
Transformed me once again.
Our lives now slowly interweave
You're the rose, I'm the stem.

-----

For A Short While (CO)

For just a short while she dreamed
Whilst moons shone on oceans.
Her dreams were of previous scenes
Memories living emotions.
Times of love that she redeemed
The purest of devotions
Creating a future full of beams
Times and loves unbroken.

She smiled, again remembering
On the beach in the rain.
But now they were so much older,
And no longer refrain.
But in truth what e're teens begin,
With chagrin must maintain
Then because of that much bolder,
And never be the same.

-----

Give all to love

Tonight our love reached so far
I'm reminded there's nothing,
Each time we love, we raise the bar
Nothing we can't do, loving.
There is no test or call from afar
For true love seals anything
Give all to love follow your star.
So hearken to its ring!

-----

Inbound

Somewhere 'tween not there and halfway
My life had just carried on.
A grey zone where I lived each day.
Somewhere half full or gone
Somewhere we met and went astray
A future to live upon.
Seeing the sun leading our way
Twixt then and now the dawn.

-----

Morning Light

The early morning light plays softly
On her still sleeping form
The morning sun's rays play lightly
As if to keep her warm.
The warmth of sun embraces subtly
In the early hours of morn
And the sound of the avian cries
Heralding just her alone.

She wakens from her dreamlike state
As the sun gently kisses her
She smiles, and all worldly troubles abate
That moment has heaven there.
The day is happy, too impatient to wait
It has been waiting forever
Now at last is motivated to create
We wait for it to occur.

-----

No Choice (CO)

Between any day and any night
You have a different sound.
There is no difference how I feel
I'm happy your around.
Then in that sparkle from your sight
I learn how love was found,
And in my arms you feel so real
I'm happy your around.

You mould me just like potters clay
Realising that I'm not bound
I look up at the clear night sky
So happy your around.
Love's put my mind in disarray
Seeing twinkles abound
Because of you, love cannot die
It's happy your around.

-----

Out of a Void

Out of a void our love has grown
The smallest speck of grain
Out of nothing a seed was sown
Creating this love domain.
Built not of wood, steel, brick or stone
With no shelter from rain
A pulsing heart, in flesh and bone
Made of love, that'll remain.

-----

Practiced

Mark well my friend at what you chart
Gifts of love, full of Grace.
From all others they stand apart
Only in ageing, changes pace.
Post your memories into your heart
Beyond their current place,
And help the love you carry start
You'll see its ageing face.

Some loves will come and some will go
There's some you hope will stay
You must make certain that you know
Why some you turn away.
One day someone will say "Hello",
Skies will turn blue from grey
And you will glow from head to toe,
You qualified that day.

-----

Sleep Gives Wings

Sleep gives wings to all hidden dreams
Causing fantasies take flight.
In my sleep I dare imagine schemes
Greeting deep desires each night.
Swift as rain from thunderous beams
Pours grief into my dreams sight
Changing tempo of passioned screams
Into a raw, and sour plight.

What kind of beast dwells deep within
Lends power to all this,
Tearing my soul leaving me reeling,
Causes less'r harm than fanc's kiss?
'Stead sends imagination away, stealing,
Amorous intent to a black abyss.
Less virtu's lovers live on unfeeling
I gave sleep tonight a miss.

-----

Twilight Dreams

Night's visit promises things to come
Twilight and unclaimed dreams.
Where reluctant new love's easier won?
When bettered by moons beams
Often words smothered by light and sun
Freely received as love's schemes.
Words day curbed, at night overcome
Following paths of wishful streams.

-----

Uncharted Waters

Uncharted waters of the heart
Guides are fellow travellers,
Equally lost, unsure of the parts
In emotion's backwaters
Like a water damaged chart
Exploring new borders
Your guide's map like abstract art
And a leader uses feelers.

Uncharted waters of the heart
Each one a course of need
Choosing easy ways that impart
A journey that will succeed
Sometimes needing a fresh start
Always unsure of need
Fellow travellers refuse their part
Sometimes 'cause of greed.

Uncharted waters of the heart
Has hidden shoals, myst'ries
Wrest the traveller none to smart
From bliss to pain through lies
Lies they will so falsely impart
Beings whose life is atrocities
Falling deeper and deeper apart
In time becomes soulless.

-----

Viaggiare con me

Travel with me along life's stair
I know you have before.
Travel with me as my partner
We'll share what is in store.
Travel with me and I will dare
To care for you everyway
Travel with me as your lover
We'll be happy every day.

Travel with me in summer's heat
I'll save you from any storm
Travel with me through the snow
I'll always keep you warm.
We will travel until time's beat
Sit on this star with balm
We'll watch as worlds quickly go
Together forever calm.

-----

Wine (HO & CO)

Why should I forgo a glass of wine
Or even two perhaps.
It relax's my poor stress'd out mind
Returning thoughts from scraps.
Some say that drinking is not fine
Christ drank wine and ate scraps
He turn'd one day water to wine
Tasted sublime perhaps.

Some doctors say it's good for you
And drinking red is good.
Mine likes a glass of Chardonnay
That's been well aged in wood.
One should drink wine even with stew
And nothing else ever does
It aids digestion, drank each day
And nothing else would.

Its All In The Presentation

Pretty petals now line pathways
Swept clean of autumns leaves
Color once bare garden walkways
With rainbows from springs breeze
As wind serves as pollens highway
See golden flakes on bees
Silently placed on blooms each day
In gardens beneath trees

Fading

A musing Angel said to me
'Prepare yourself for night.
Your day was long, your journey hard
yet it will be all right.'
But in the mirror I could see,
though fading from my sight,
the figure of a wounded bard
still longing for the light.

-----

Spring Planning

I thought I'd get some exercise
with Winter coming on.
So as the Spring begins to bloom
I'll show my new found brawn,
then watch as all the ladies eyes
begin to sway and fawn.
I'll pick the one with chaste perfume
and love her til the dawn.

Aging

I watch the sun rise in the sky.
Its warmth a morning's song.
To slip into a Spring-time high
and right all sense of wrong.
To capture beauty's hold in eye
and pleasure moments strong.
It's then that I relieve in sigh
and know here I belong.

To not forget each lesson learned
Through hardship and in need,
that aging comes to those who earned
by laying down their seed
of knowledge shared for all concerned
and guiding those who lead.
It's nature's way in seasons turned,
another year to feed.

-----

Freedom

I sit and wonder why no calls
as silence speaks to me.
Yet from afar the words are heard
in mindly thoughts of he.
A brushing off until it falls
amid each day to see
that there upon a loss occurred
remains a future, free.

Enjoy Life

Delicate white lace on bed
Crystal glass to share
Music sounds of peace and joy,
Stirring all wants and cares
Wishing forever to be fed
With feelings to enjoy
When life crumbles and destroys

Don't need

I do not need the night at all
Too late, too late for me
I sigh then laugh as teardrops fall
Then wipe my eyes again.
It was always at night you'd call
And then create more debris
You must realise you won my soul
Please don't cause me any pain.

Finality

She is holding on to sanity
With one slippery finger
As tomorrow is uncertainty
Yesterday is regret.
Every season has its reality
From feast to a hunger
There all must reach finality
Before the time to forget.

-----

Karma

Life is only moments in time
Brief washes along a beach
Seeing when the seventh wave climbs
Looking how far they spread
Washing away a past sublime.
What will the future teach
What will be your new adime
Till again life has fled.

Early morning

Bright sunlight paints gold bands on walls
as blue skies are wiped clear.
I watch geese flight and hear their calls,
when leaders move to rear.
Wind's breath sets trees to dance in thrall-
till shadows disappear.
Above the red-tiled rooftops' sprawl,
the old church stands austere

-----

Easter Mondays

From lead-grey skies fat snowflakes fall
and cover everything-
still leafless trees, their buds in thrall,
whilst songbirds long for spring.
Inside, my cats play with a ball
and chase a piece of string;
my tomcat, on the couch asprawl,
dreams he's the lion king.

-----

Evening spell

There are whales in the sea of skies,
blowing flocks of clouds.
I watch the seagulls, hear their cries,
in dazzling dive for food.
Grey shapes, now scattered in disguise,
are covered by wet shrouds;
on the horizon ships arise-
but waves are yet subdued.

-----

Feet and Wings

As spiders have four pair of feet,
a fly has only three;
in running flies can not compete,
yet wings might set them free.
In sticky webs they both will meet,
on threads high up a tree;
in spider's lair waits fly's defeat-
on that we can agree

-----

Floating

As seagulls float on streaming air,
white graciousness enthralls;
I'm leaning backwards in my chair,
my thoughts drift with their calls.
Tall rows of trees, thin arms still bare,
move gently on wind's waltz.
Two crows, high on a roof, prepare
for flight, crying in squalls.

-----

Monday night

Beneath the hem of grey clouds' frock
a band of blue now shows;
most light has gone, it's five o'clock,
when first rays of today
spread out across snow-heavy flocks
and set the sky aglow.
Before he goes to sleep Sun blocks-
white snowflakes melt away.

-----

Peace

As swelling mantras sweep my mind,
all cobwebbed thoughts dissolve;
while cleansing waves remove dark blinds,
I feel I am absolved.
Constricting ties that once confined,
unwind as song revolves.
With mind and body realigned,
in freedom I'll evolve.

-----

Pigeons

On the edge of the roof she waits
as seagulls draw wide coils;
she watches how her man creates
from twigs and last year's moss
a nest to hold her young- they're mates.
She oversees his toils,
it must be strong to hold the weight-
they dare not risk eggs' loss.

I'm thankful for the years I've seen
I know I have been blessed
