Poetic Constellations

2016 Poetry Form Challenge

#22 Kyrielle Sonnet

This was once a very popular French form and dates from the Middle Ages. It is written in quatrains (four lines of poetry) which includes a Refrain B, (A repeat line, phrase, or word), and as is normal with French poetry it is syllabic (in this case eight syllables, English - "Tetrameter") to make up a quatrain rhyming thus:
a. a. b. B..... c. c. b. B.... etc
each quatrain finishing with the same line, phrase or word. It is however acceptable to have the couplets alternate in the quatrain.
a. .b. a. B..
A three stanza Kyrielle lends itself beautifully to a sonnet form if the first line is carefully chosen so that it compliments the refrain.By adding that line to the refrain we have a couplet and by adding that to the three stanzas, we have 14 lines.
NOTE..A Sonnet is a 14 line poem, if it retains its original format, it will be a 3 stanza Kyrielle with a couplet.

To learn to love

Bodies and minds are conditioned by life
Must have heart open 'fore love says goodbye
Show your emotion, don't be stoic in strife.
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
Too long my heart has been asleep
Because of you my spirit is high
Now through you, I learn to weep
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
No longer holding feelings inside
which only you can dulcify
Choose instead this uncertain ride
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
Bodies and minds are conditioned by life
To learn to love, you must learn to cry

Terry Clitheroe

It should be noted the above example used a similar format to the Sicilian Quatrain, (a. b. a. b), Neil uses one similar to the Italian (a. b. b. a) in his example below.

Present Tense Kyrielle

Through my window I see you walking.
An echo bounces down the front hallway.
Twilight in my mind makes room for day.
Supper fills the house with sweet fragrance.
I open my door and the house inhales.
You say, "A walk seemed like a good thing."
In winter's heart we are thinking of spring.
Supper fills the house with sweet fragrance.
You help yourself to a favorite chair.
I'm glad that your feet bring you this way.
Your eyes hold mine and have volumes to say.
Supper fills the house with sweet fragrance.
Through the window I see you walking.
Supper fills the house with sweet fragrance

Neil Leach

Finally in the example below is an example using free form the last line of each Quatrain use the same word or phrase.

Just Friendship

Friendship grows with the briefest meeting
Like a raging fire grows from just a spark
Burning all in its path, leaving havoc and pain
Yet that small spark can also create warmth.
Fear not the fire you create when you love
There's a sense of comfort and deeper feeling,
Rather care for the tinder and fuel you use
Because small sparks can also create warmth.
Hard woods burn slowly and smoulders and lasts
Sitting in the evenings warmed by that fire
Its soft red glow, entirely warming your room
Created by a spark that has caused that warmth.
Friendship grows with the briefest meeting
Created by a spark that has caused that warmth.

Aberrations Tears

When someone says not to worry
Then gets you into a knarry*
Situation, in temptations,
They put you in aberrations.
Never knowing whether you can trust
Again, no true friends would bedust
You in such contrived station,
You are put in aberrations.
There can be no peace, only war,
With those who use and then ignore
Your lack of rapport, frustrations,
They put you in aberrations.
When someone says not to worry
They put you in aberrations.

Earths Tears

She grieves for her children, yet not
Enough to stop quaking in spots,
Breathing fires in other places,
Knowing death but giving aces.
She cries for want of thirsty trees
Though lightening causes sights to see,
Some storms are honeycomb traces,
Knowing death but giving aces.
Of all kinds, be they animal
Or fields of flowers beautiful,
Put to shame mans sorry pieces,
Knowing death but giving aces.
She grieves for her children, yet not,
Knowing death but giving aces.

Grounds

Cafe grounds are dawns happy friend
To waken us from dreams sure end,
Some to scare us, others joyous,
Awakening hours lent to us.
Love grounds meet dawns quiet song
Sung in natures chorus, we long
To hear birds cheer melodious,
Awakening hours lent to us.
Weep grounds make midnight our hour
For tears brought in lovings power
To be let go by furious
Awakening hours lent to us.
Cafe grounds are dawns happy friend
Awakening hours lent to us.

Locked in a Graveyard

Curious hare under the moon
Under the stars midnight comes soon,
Soon enough spirits shall find wind,
Raising the cry, we're all locked in!
Quietly nibbling goes mouse
Through the iron gates hung with moss,
Ever stranded souls cannot win,
Raising the cry, we're all locked in!
Raven calls within, flying yon,
Hitherto find mates in murders pon
Treetops gathering stones and kin,
Raising the cry, we're all locked in!
Curious hare under the moon
Raising the cry, we're all locked in!

Love's Tears

I wonder where the romance went
You used to care, now just lament
Good times that never came along,
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.
Wish there was a way to create
Another life, not desecrate
But consecrate love so strong,
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.
It's never been as it should be
We've wandered a desert corbe*
Trying to straighten what is wrong,
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.
I wonder where the romance went
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.

Pot Bound

Oh these roots are strangling me
As they wind and twist back unfree,
No room to grow, or so it seems,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.
My roots curl into themselves now,
No hope of spreading under bough
Of waving leaf or broken schemes,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.
Just once I'd like to see the sun
Beside a stream that slowly runs,
Under a bridge of oaken beams,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.
Oh these roots are strangling me,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.

Beware the Beast

The Moon is full, now hear his cry
Hear the ghosts cry, hear its sigh
There is every reason for your fright
Beware the beast beware his bite.
Soft padding sounds hear them nigh
The Moon is full, now hear his cry
As hellish beasts now fill the night
Beware the beast beware his bite.
Too late your life slipping by
Finally realising your going to die
Your muscles tensing out of fright
Beware the beast beware his bite.
The Moon is full, now hear his cry
Beware the beast beware his bite.

You hear, you smell its fetid breath
You know that you are near to death
Unprepared totally, taken by surprise
You see two unblinking yellow eyes.
You have no gun, to late for stealth
You hear, you smell its fetid breath
Drawing your knife in adrenalin rise
You see two unblinking yellow eyes
Betrayal by blood on the way to wealth
That final hand that Satan's dealt
Your brother, a curse of blooded ties
You see two unblinking yellow eyes
You hear, you smell its fetid breath
You see two unblinking yellow eyes

So now at last it has come to this
If he wins you'll feel Deaths kiss
Fates single card you can't deny
The Moon is full, now hear his cry
The slashing paw, you feel the hiss
To keep your life he has to miss
You sense his strike and feel it fly by
The Moon is full, now hear his cry
Your knife strikes you dare not miss
As it strikes home you hear him hiss
Finally it 's he that fate chose die
The Moon is full, hear his final cry
So now at last it has come to this
The Moon is full, now hear his cry.

Darkness

Eyes open wide seeing nought but darkness
Arms extend, grope out feeling emptiness.
Harness what most people fear; nights attack
Feel safe, taste its power, savour what's black.
Gloom's often shunned; it's a creation to be used
It is a place for loving, not for those confused
Where all senses are heightened, but all are blind.
Feel safe, taste its power, savour what's black.
Smell the air, gently touching, and you'll find
There is a new quality to love as you ascend,
As gradually the darkness becomes your friend
Feel safe, taste its power, savour what's black.
Eyes open wide seeing nought but darkness
Feel safe, taste its power, savour what's black.

Emptiness

As I stare into the starlit sky
It's only emptiness that I see
A long ago picture of how you
Now I'm left with just a hole.
That emptiness reflects
The condition of my Chi
Once we shared life and love
Now I'm left with just a hole.
I know my soul is in the stars
Somewhere up in that scene
My body has never been there
Now I'm left with just a hole.
As I stare into the starlit sky
Now I'm left with just a hole.

Now you closed that final door
You took my soul away
And somewhere alone in the stars
It's where it wants to stay.
My life now rings in emptiness
As well as being without a soul
Until you come back to me again
It's where it wants to stay.
Now I sit here drinking wine
And stargazing every night
Till once again we are together
It's where it wants to stay.
Now you closed that final door
It's where it wants to stay.

Heavenly Tears

What is rain but liquid sunshine,
Making life lush, and proud and tall.
Wine drops from angels as they dine
The tears of Heaven blessing us all.
Not all tears are that, some a sample
Denied too often, whilst building a wall
Built by time and parental example
Not tears of Heaven blessing us all.
Fathers make men by denying they cry
Only sissies cry, real men stand tall.
I sob and I blubber, I will not deny
And thank Heaven for blessing us all.
What is rain but liquid sunshine,
The tears of Heaven blessing us all.

Kismet or is it?

Walking along life's mysterious path
Never having faced Fate's wrath
No longer wondering what is in store
Some find ease and want much more.
Life has paths that are ordained we take
Alternative moves that they can make
But looking out is seen three or four
Some find ease and want much more.
So a route is chosen without any strife
Always seeking a more luxurious life
With ease and comfort develop a rapport
Some find ease and want much more.
Walking along life's mysterious path
Some find ease and want much more

Love Waiting

We speak from half a world around
For a short time, we are so close again
United by just voice and sound
How strange it is the time we're in.
Yet is our love so very strange
We are together are we not?
Our lives and times we rearrange
How strange it is the time we're in.
We know, we share, we love, each night
Or is it day, I don't know to my chagrin
In days long gone to loves we wrote
How strange it is the time we're in.
In days long gone to loves we wrote
How strange it is the time we're in.

In days long gone to loves we wrote
And time went so slow until the day
The postman's whistle heralded a note
It's better now the time we're in.
We read and treasured every word
Wrote a response and held our breath
Time would drag till again we heard
It's better now the time we're in.
Temptation ever would be loves bane
For whist they wait 'twas easy to sin
But what's so different is the same
It's better now the time we're in.
We speak from half a world around
It's better now the time we're in.

Motorway Thoughts

Shaded trails of asphalt filled promise
And I saw how those promises diminish
Like the red cars that pass, I am in the way
Causing my marvellous thoughts to decay
Flashing bands of what has mattered
By impatient, ill bred cretins in well catered
Black limousines impressed by might,
Causing my marvellous thoughts to decay
Ignoring they try to push me out of the way
With little though for others, or what is right.
But I pushed time in one end of today
Causing my marvellous thoughts to decay
Shaded trails of asphalt filled promise
Causing my marvellous thoughts to decay

Patiently I spur my horseless carriage on
Wondering if this time, I will see the dawn
Before I have to turn round and head on back
Then I'll be home finally for a quiet night
Or attempt to get off, and take another tack.
Suddenly I'm free and can move at my pace
Brooding cameras prevent the thought of race.
Then I'll be home finally for a quiet night
What heat there was is now a flowing breeze
And the clear road ahead only serves to tease.
None too soon, a leafy street comes into sight
Then I'll be home finally for a quiet night
Patiently I spur my horseless carriage on
Now I'm home finally for a quiet night.

Nothing New

The moon sits there in all her glory
Watching lovers create their new story
Never tiring of this consistent view
Smiling because there is nothing new.
What is new to them is not to her
And still smiles and is full of care
She shares love with another two
Smiling because there is nothing new.
The stars will wink and smile with her
Because they love and also care
United lovers now one not two
Smiling because there is nothing new.
The moon sits there in all her glory
Smiling because there is nothing new.

On the Swag

The road I choose is not with you
And think it's time to shed this pack
I'm seeing now a different view
On the swag, and off down this track.
The road I chose has many bends
Taking trails that sometimes work back
I'm wondering if it ever ends
On the swag, and off down this track.
The road I chose has many a climb
The wind in yer face and sun at 'back
It's easy enough if you take your time
On the swag, and off down this track.
The road I choose is not with you
On the swag, and off down this track.

Sleepless

I waken now because of the silence
You are no longer lying next to me.
In this darkness there is no pretence
And things are not as they should be.
That cold space without your presence
Means there is nothing but memories.
I count to ten looking around for sheep,
And things are not as they should be.
But even though I'm tired I cannot sleep,
Or at least not that of the truly content
Talking of absence is that what is meant?
And things are not as they should be.
I waken now because of the silence
And things are not as they should be.

Xtremes

Oh Love, doest thou know thy brother Hate?
Nay! Please realise that he remembers thee;
For no matter how ignorant thou dost be,
His knowledge of thee could never dissipate.
And shouldest thou seek, perchance, to expiate,
Or wish to make amends for past inclemency
Whilst thou art modest, forgiving in thy decency
His knowledge of thee could never dissipate.
For in thy answer “Learn to turn the other cheek”
How can you love someone who has hurt again?
Not to hate would seem by some to be weak
His knowledge of thee could never dissipate.
Oh Love, doest thou know thy brother Hate?
His knowledge of thee could never dissipate.

Your Complexity

In my dreams I see you really as you are
Perhaps as we were, or someday may be
It's something only my sleeping self can see.
In my wakened mind I see you for real.
You negate my comments out of feelings
You know I lie not, yet you do not believe
Past experiences have caused you conceive
In my wakened mind I see you for real.
Tis not your fault that you believe it is so
I know inside how delicate you must be
I wish somehow, you had complete faith in me
In my wakened mind I see you for real.
In my dreams I see you really as you are
In my wakened mind I see you for real.

Angel of Death

Come ye death Angel I am ready to go now
For I have wept of sad tears far too long
Shall no longer hear laughter nor sad song
My spirit remains with a crow on the bough
I rest my form within the garden of souls
That are banished from their life forever
It is I within death my past I shall sever
My spirit remains with a crow on the bough
There shall be no sad tears when I am gone
For within past life I hath lived so well
And only within spirit I may return to tell
My spirit remains with a crow on the bough
Come ye death Angel I am ready to go now
My spirit remains with a crow on the bough.

Flames Of Desire

How shall a woman feel within her desire
When only a gentle touch shall penetrate
Shall her heart beat at an alarming rate
When the heat is upon a smouldering fire
That may only begin with a desirous spark
Fantasies linger deep within her dream
To be all and more than fantasies seem
When the heat is upon a smouldering fire
Until flickers of flames calm down to rest
The flames of desire shall flicker forever
Passionate dreams shall fade away never
When the heat is upon a smouldering fire
How shall a woman feel within her desire
When the heat is upon a smouldering fire.

Identity Nil

If he should sign along the dotted line
Upon a document he did not receive
However should he once again believe
He has no facts of a proven identity
Should he trust the practice of good will
When he cannot even find the dotted line
What rights do they ask him now to sign
He has no facts of a proven identity
He wondered why he was there at all
Why should he sign what he wont receive
For who he was he shall never retrieve
He has no facts of a proven identity
If he should sign along the dotted line
He has no facts of a proven identity.

Please Don't Go

So keen is the woman that lures her prey
Unto an eve of promiscuous affection
With no fears of a point blank rejection
Yet it was she who enticed him to stay
Caught up in her web no way to escape
Another victim lured in a tangled trap
All he had hoped for was love and a nap
Yet it was she who enticed him to stay
There was no way he had any illusions
For she made sure that he would know
Why ever else should his interests grow
For it was she who enticed him to stay
So keen is the woman that lures her prey.
Yes it was she who enticed him to stay.

Prophets Of future

Oh realms of Kings that stands upon the vale
Open thy palace doors to the words of wisdom
Of the simple folk that dwell in thy kingdom
Yea they were thy prophets of the future
And hath been faithful of word in the past
So soon the dark knight shall be upon thee
It is written in the prophesies to be
There within thy prophets of the future
Much too soon shall it all be revealed
They shall predict all through their wisdom
They see the future and are wrong seldom
Yea they were thy prophets of the future
Oh realms of Kings that stands upon the vale
Yea they were thy prophets of the future.

Running Amok

Within years gone by when Knights were old
When fine ladies ran amok with a woodcutter
He was the one that made their hearts flutter
'Twas the ladies were the ones that were bold
For media 'twas never the best they could do
'Twas he that had gained their attention
Teasing was never within sin to mention
'Twas the ladies were the ones that were bold
He was only following his better instincts
Which would never look good within a court
Apart from love whatever else could he report
'Twas the ladies were the ones that were bold
Within years gone by when Knights were old
'Twas the ladies were the ones that were bold.

Sensations Of Love

Let this love I percieve within your eyes
That shall ever be a reflection of mine
Where both inner feelings shall combine
Forever to remain much deeper inside.
So much so for our eyes shall never lie
Sensations linger within a loving touch
For these pleasures hath taught as much
That which forever remains deeper inside
A feeling that we both may never forget
For affection shall both be yours and mine
Ours is a love that shall feel as divine
Forever to remain much deeper inside
Let this love I percieve within your eyes
Forever to remain much deeper inside.

Unloved Child

How could the life of a child be sacrificed
Cruelty of the innocent was unbeknown
Her scars within were never to be shown
What heartbreak this unloved child endured
Hidden away from a sympathetic society
Starved of nourishment robbed of care
Of a parential love they could not share
What heartbreak an unloved child endured
Her beautiful face was that of an angels
The scars within were never to be shown
Only within death was starvation beknown
What heartbreak this unloved child endured
How could the life of a child be sacrificed
What heartbreak this unloved child endured.

I think of you my dear Jennie,
more than I thought, I would back then
I write about you quite often
with love from within that grows free
For your guidance thank you, mommy
I could not have picked or chosen,
a kinder sweeter, great person
with love from within that grows free
Whose helped plant my roots like a tree
and sometimes I think life's taken
the one most important token
with love from within that grows free
I think of you my dear Jennie,

Autumn Shadows

A peaceful moon shines down on Earth
The year has gone there's no turning back
Unable to hide the autumn's leafy dearth
Lighting shadows across her track.
Winter is preparing her three month stay
Drabbing even night's brown's and black.
But the autumn moon still holds sway
As she lights shadows across her track.
Life still holds warmth gained by day
Night soon cools, tries to steal it back
The moon resists the seasons decay
As she lights shadows across her track.
A peaceful moon shines down on Earth
Lighting shadows across her track.

Formatted by Fate

Those treasures carefully locked inside
An almost empty mind, human outside
Is the loss of wisdom worth the cost,
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?
See her sitting there quietly smiling still
Originally placed there, against her will
Sometimes duty can be too heavy a cost
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?
No attention span and the words are gone
Mind formatted by fate, the body lives on
There are so many things I still need to ask
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?
Those treasures carefully locked inside
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?

Hot Air

Today I watched hot air balloons
Traffic slowed at this lovely sight
Seeing six smiling coloured moons
Soaring eastward in the morning sky.
We drove on in slowed parade
Smiling as we passed them by
Envying them whilst they played
Soaring eastward in the morning sky
Into the dark of the Burnley Tunnel
Going deep instead of flying high
Losing them as we drove into hell
And they soared east in the morning sky.
Today I watched hot air balloons
Soaring eastward in the morning sky.

I do not laugh

I do not laugh nor do I weep
The wounds I have go far to deep
But I live on still, or I just try
And do the best as days go by.
Words we spoke, songs we sang
The old bell a time or to we rang
The place echoes with our reverie
I remember as days go by.
And now I see another's face
It's another love, not replace
For I love her I need not try
Memories make as days go by
I do not laugh nor do I weep
I do my best as days go by.

My Words

When I talk to you the words come easy
Yet inside the turmoil the excitement
Each syllable comes slipping out so freely.
And my words cause you no torment?
I hope my heart guides my tongue right
So that you know what is truly meant
So that you surrender to me tonight
And my words cause you no torment?
My mind willing to speak so lovingly
Will you miss my love, my true intent?
And treat my suit accordingly
When my words mean you no torment?
When I talk to you the words come easy
And my words mean you no torment?

-----

Only the Sea

And only the sea shall know them
The ocean depth will be their grave
The wind will tug the wet shrouds hem
Like farewell flags, the waters wave.
There is no church with bells to ring
No flowers cover the hallowed site
Nor choir with caring hymns to sing
Like farewell flags, the waters wave.
Neptune has claimed them all
And to his bosom they are gone
Till Armageddon makes the final call
Then welcome flags, the waters wave.
And only the sea shall know them
Like farewell flags, the waters wave.

Silent Tears

My lover is silent when she speaks
Her eyes say all telling of her plans.
Muted gifts from heavens peaks
Her words of love are with her hands.
My lover listens with sparkling eyes
Which reply to me in volumes
Sometimes mouthing her replies
Her words of love are with her hands.
My lover's tears are silent gems
Seldom now are they sadness cries
But happy ones from where love stems
My lover listens with sparkling eyes
My lover is silent when she speaks
Her words of love are with her hands.

My lovers touch means all to me
They are the words that tell me all
And more because she cannot see
Who needs sight to know the truth?
My love is silent when she looks at me
But sees more than those with sight
Her hands are extensions of her soul
Which doesn't need sight to know the truth'
My lover doesn't have sparkling eyes
There is no reflection from within
But tears will flow just as sincere
Because she really knows the truth!
My lovers touch means all to me
Who needs sight to know the truth?

To Learn To Love

Body and mind conditioned by life
Shows no emotion, is stoic in strife.
Open my heart before love says goodbye
To learn to love, I must learn to cry
Too long my heart has been asleep
Now through you, I learn to weep
Because of you my spirit is high
To learn to love, I must learn to cry
No longer holding feelings inside
Choose instead this uncertain ride
Which only you can dulcify
To learn to love, I must learn to cry
Now it is time for me to weep
To learn to love, I must learn to cry

Now it is time for you to weep
Release all you have tried to keep
Trust in me love, I will not lie
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
I'm here besides you as you sob
Angry and frustrated, inside you rob
With trust our love cannot die
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
I look in your eyes seeing tears
Holding and kissing away your fears
Trust and love me for eternity
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
Bodies and minds conditioned by life
To learn to love, you must learn to cry.

Twilight

Daylight is not for you and I
Mere mortals must relish this time
They fear the dark with sightless eye
Twilight glimmers with unclaimed dreams.
With dusk we wake and search for food
Our hunger satisfied on darker nights
The new dead flesh that taste so good
Twilight glimmers with unclaimed dreams.
Your soul is even a better fare
In return there is a half life state
So in the darkness best take care
Twilight glimmers with unclaimed dreams
Daylight is not for you and I
Twilight glimmers with unclaimed dreams.

-----

-----

Your Essence

I taste your essence on my lips
I sense you blowing on the wind
Still feel you at my fingertips
And see you smiling in my mind.
At heavenly dust a passion grips
Each night with dusk I feel a kind
Of bond with you of honeyed sips
And see you smiling in my mind.
Soul and body freely flies anew
My will unlocks and love unbinds
A freer feeling of loving with you
And see you smiling in my mind.
I taste your essence on my lips
And see you smiling in my mind.

Papa's Cafe

Where ever you are I will be
Just look inside and you will see
Although I shall be far away
You'll sense the aroma always
Don't be afraid to be alone
Our time apart is the unknown
You know Ill miss you everyday
You'll taste the latte blend always
When you are sad or feeling blue
Recall these words I say to you
When you leave from papa's cafe
You'll sense the love inside always
Where ever you are I will be
Our time so short but true always.

Chilling Cold

Mirror must lie for I feel old
Weary legs trudge up endless stairs
Once in, must peel off many layers
I hate hate hate this chilling cold
I'm an autumn girl, truth be told
love the lingering warmth of fall
leaves gaily dance 'til final call
I hate hate hate this chilling cold
I yearn to be free of winter's hold
I'd like to hibernate until spring
awaken to blooms as birds sing
I hate hate hate this chilling cold
Mirror must lie, I feel so old
I hate hate hate this chilling cold.

Endorse Me With Love

Within the silent soft refrain
We're trapped inside our mindless thoughts
Reflecting answers once again
Of wonders of past cruel words brought
String no more, our hearts bear the sore
Bring back and arise loving thoughts
As intended writing love more
Of wonders we both loved and sought
Rough winds have shaken buds untrimmed
Winter's storm has last far to long
And often making lights grow dim
Endorse us with loving soft songs
Within the silent soft refrain
Endorse me with loving soft songs

For Lovers

The luster in your eyes aglow
One sultry look, the candle melts
your love quickens the touch is felt
Like the glow of candles, love shows
With words of love to move and grow
His touch, her quiver enticed more
Each movement deepens your rapport
Like the glow of candles, love shows
Peacefully your hearts beat slow
Your eyes, your face, your bodies rest
Held in loving arms, breast to chest
Like the glow of candles, love shows
The luster in your eyes aglow
Like the glow of candles, love shows

*Heavenly Rain Drops*

Rolling, twinkling rain drops come
To drench and soak away earths dust
It's voice at times sings full of robust
Sparkling rain, heavenly beating drum
Natures beauty is back time has come
To smell the freshened, fragrant breeze
From drenched, dripping eucalyptus trees
Sparkling rain, heavenly tenor drum
In the valley of whatever may come
The rain pours down striking the road
Like dancing Indians this story's told
Sparkling rain, heavenly beating drum
Rolling, twinkling rain drops come
Whispering rain, heavens beating drum

Journey On

You don't have to be so up tight
As you go along, alone each night
No matter what road you travel upon
The thoughts of your friends will linger on
Everything you hear, everything you see
Rejoice, feast the atmosphere there be
Those fouled up days withered and gone
New thoughts, new friends to thrive upon
Blazing new paths on your journey alone
Sad times, bad times, but most best be throne
Farewell my friend until the ending dawns
New thoughts of your own compassion lingers on
No matter what road you travel upon
New thoughts, new friends to thrive upon

Nurtured

Nurtured in a sequence that flows
By day the touch, by night love grows
Feel the blood take it's natural course
Like the warmth of the rivers source
In poetry's sky, the twinkling eye
Will glow and amuse with surprise
Love gives his best loving perforce
Like the warmth of the rivers source
Warmer days and summers cool soft nights
Enchanting time, sweet love high heights
Love we indulge with touch on course
Like the warmth of the rivers source
Nurtured in a sequence that flows
Like the warmth of a rivers source

Thoughts of loving you - priceless

Thoughts serenely sweet express
So soft, so dear so eloquent
I'll tell of days and nights goodness spent
Thoughts of loving you - priceless
A mind at peace where love be caressed
A heavenly paradise for you and me
A glimpse at sweet love, there we be
Thoughts of loving you - priceless
All temptations eyed, we must confess
Within a pleasant laughter shows
Days and nights warmth satisfaction bestowed
Thoughts of loving you - priceless
Thoughts serenely and sweetly expressed
Thoughts of loving you - priceless

Priceless moments spent at night times progress
Under a net of Golden winking stars to thrill
The reason firm, enchanting strength and skill
Thoughts of loving you - priceless
Lounging by pool and colorful oleanders dressed
Mesmerized by the lull surrounding us
Swimming, kissing, feeling our love rush
Thoughts of loving you - priceless
Moments to reminisce how sweet love fluoresces
Many years we wanting, and patiently waited
Harmoniously we weep joyously for love's our fate
Thoughts of loving you - priceless
Thoughts serenely and sweetly expressed
Thoughts of loving you - priceless

Where The Hell Is My Twinkling Star?

I looked for the wandering sky
Covered in gray and fortified
Alone seeking one twinkling star
Alone I sat the star was far
I felt the tears moisten my skin
His harsh words dampened within
I'll stand my distances from his mars
Alone I sat the star was far
I conquered deaths and added power
Time elapse and white clouds tower
Scars gone tear drops laden afar
Alone I sat the stars not far
I looked at the wandering sky
No more alone the stars not far

Construction IX

Bare hands are reaching from grey shrouds,
titanium skin reflects Sun’s rays
as at the feet of piled up clouds
her soul is offered to his blaze.
On concrete feet, with ribs of steel
her body’s raised to brave time’s plays;
with head thrown back in mute appeal
her soul is offered to his blaze.
Her roots seek traces of lost blood
as tendrils glide through spiralled maze;
descending deep in ancient mud
her soul is offered to his blaze.
Bare hands are reaching from grey shrouds-
her soul is offered to his blaze.

-----

Construction X

As concrete flows in fat gray streams,
it suffocates my outbound dreams.
Condemned to die inside this swamp,
tall trees are waving- death redeems.
Highrises, raising wide steel beams
are choking roots of wood- it screams;
as saws grip trunks, prepared to chomp,
tall trees are bending- death redeems.
Forever changed by man-made schemes,
my window’s view breaks up its theme.
New shops are opened with great pomp-
tall trees are falling- death redeems.
As concrete flows in fat gray streams,
tall trees are dying- death redeems?

Dhyãna -Yoga XIV

Enveloped by Sun's healing hands,
I open heart and soul- connect;
relinguish grip of life's demands-
in meditation I reflect.
Like floating dandelion seeds,
I see my drifting thoughts collect-
temptation lessens, then recedes.
In meditation I reflect.
I hear the morning song of birds,
yet neither follow, nor reject,
serenity exceeds all words;
in meditation I reflect.
Enveloped by Sun's healing hands
in meditation- I reflect.

Dreaming II

The doona’s snug up to my ears,
between the blinds I see Moon’s face
smile down on me, rub out my fears-
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.
I’m rocked on clouds that travel south,
swift airwaves carry us through space;
I taste the sweetness of your mouth
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.
In lilac veils Dawn greets the day,
night disappears without a trace.
My eyes are kissed by Sun’s first rays,
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.
The doona’s snug up to my ears,
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.

Gallery

My inner eye watches a screen;
in spirals images go round,
fast changing, no break in between-
in stepping back I find my ground.
Visions on display alluring,
pull me towards pools of rainbowed sound;
unborn wishes are maturing,
in stepping back I hold my ground.
I see dogs and fishes, flowers,
a gaping pea-pod looks profound;
Sun and Moon unfold their powers,
in stepping back I guard my ground.
My inner eye watches a screen,
in stepping back I touch my ground.

May

A chorus-line of slim young trees
is swaying on May's heady beat;
thin branches flutter leaves in breeze,
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.
Among high treetops birds seek mates,
with puffed up chests bold males compete
as lady turns her head and waits;
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.
Her choice depends on song and nest;
encouragement is in her tweet,
inspiring him to build his best-
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.
A chorus-line of slim young trees-
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.

Neptune’s tears

With angry tears night’s velvet’s ripped;
as wings of feeble men are clipped,
blue burning bolts of light are thrown-
hot blood is turning into stone.
Cold rain is slashing down, it whips
on bowing heads of men and ships;
below the gale you hear their moan-
hot blood is turning into stone.
High waves rush forward, lashing shores
while Neptune’s voice thunders and roars;
false tears are drowned as masks are blown-
hot blood is turning into stone.
With angry tears night’s velvet’s ripped,
hot blood is turning into stone.

-----

Rain

Grey sheets of rain obscure my view
since Sun played truant, stealing heat;
my summer frocks wait for their cue-
hide memories of sunlit streets.
Six weeks of drought came to an end,
parched throats of trees drink to replete-
their crowns, bowed low as rain descends,
hide memories of sunlit streets.
Fast flowing rivers took roads’ place,
no bikes in sight, they can’t compete
as wider arms of cars’ embrace,
hide memories of sunlit streets.
Grey sheets of rain obscure my view,
hide memories of sunlit streets.

Surya Namaskar-Yoga XIII

In raising arms up to the Sun
I stretch my spine- feel bones align.
Then bending to inverted Vee,
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.
My body follows age-old rites,
each posture brings a deeper peace;
in rhythm with each move I see
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.
In yielding to each ãsana,
I find relief in centered breath.
As muscles stretch, my mind’s set free-
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.
In raising arms up to the Sun,
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.

Trust

In raging storms strong trees stay put
as leaves are chased in hot pursuit.
Tall slender stems bow with each gust,
while weaker ones break down to dust.
Each root sends suckers in the soil
to grip the earth in tendrilled coils.
Undaunted trees sway with the thrust
while weaker ones break down to dust.
Well hidden in dark, deeper layers
life’s fluid runs in streams of prayers.
Each budded leaf unfolds in trust,
while weaker ones break down to dust.
In raging storms strong trees stay put,
while weaker ones break down to dust.

Unconsummated Love

A pale faced Moon, in day’s disguise,
attracts far reaching rays of Sun;
as heat enfolds her, she’s his prize-
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.
Her lover left with fond goodbyes,
their passion vanished ere begun;
her blooming heralds his demise,
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.
In blackest mourning Moon now cries,
without his warmth she feels undone.
A veil of shooting stars apprise-
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.
A pale faced moon, in days disguise
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.

Yoga XII

Deep in my belly dreams a snake-
in Pranayama she can wake.
I close my eyes and cross my legs,
as breath is forming perfect eggs.
Inhaling air along my spine,
expanding vertebrae align;
each measured step removes old dregs,
as breath is forming perfect eggs.
Exhaling flows from crown of head,
then runs from throat to breast instead
. Each pause in breathing’s marked by pegs-
as breath is forming perfect eggs.
Deep in my belly dreams a snake,
as breath is forming perfect eggs.

Your Voice VIII

As brown vibrations rock my soul,
long drought ploughs chasms in my skin;
warm thrills echo your voice within-
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.
Each whispered word, in gentle toll
brings harmony to discords torn,
withdraws fanged venom from each thorn;
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.
My blood flows in an offered bowl;
from opened vein blooms roses’ sigh
in velvet petals- rapture’s nigh;
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.
As brown vibrations rock my soul,
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.

Awakened Spirit

When time on earth hath come to pass
Shalt place a weary head e'er I sleep
There upon a mound of meadow grass
Lest thy saddened heart shalt weep.
O Heartless pulse stop let me rest
For soon a memory shalt thou keep
Sacred time on earth once bless'd
Lest thy saddened heart shalt weep.
Think of me not cold within my tomb
When warmth of past remains deep
Safely within mother natures womb
Lest thy saddened heart shalt weep.
When time on earth hath come to pass
Lest thy saddened heart shalt weep.

A Bond Within

Strange the tears that dwell inside
That a saddened heart shall not heal
Within the hurt may nurture pride
That only her lovers kiss may seal.
Why must she weep sad tears alone
When lovers know how it may feel
For broken hearts remain as prone
But only a loved ones kiss may seal.
Come hither thou to me my love
Let the love in thine eyes reveal
All that thou shall be worthy of
'Tis all thy loving kiss may seal.
Strange the tears that dwell inside
But only a loved ones kiss may seal.

Book of Fantasies

What is better than to read a book
Perusing alone within a shady nook
Within a quiet haven of own accord
Surrounded by fantasies written word.
By the turn of a page crisp and new
The very feel shall be a pleasure too
A luxury that the mind shall afford
Surrounded by fantasies written word
Romantic fiction from bygone days
An ancient era of word and phrase
Bold knights of scabbard and sword
Surrounded by fantasies written word.
What is better than to read a book
Surrounded by fantasies written word.

Eternal Knot

Shalt not I thy true beloved be
For 'tis I who shalt honour thee
Whether pleasant or distraught.
Thy pleasures shalt fail thee not.
Feel my presence for I am there
A warmth of love thou may share
Eternal love is better than nought
Thy pleasures shalt fail thee not.
Hold dear this love as passions flow
As time goes by this love shalt grow
To forever tether the eternal knot
Thy pleasures shalt fail thee not.
Shalt not I thy true beloved be
Thy pleasures shalt fail thee not.

Feathers to the Wind

I rode the prairie rough and wild
My ancestors past I vowed to find
Their land was my home as a child
Lost are the feathers to the wind.
How did it happen how could it be
They had no means of a legal bind
This land was for all wild and free
Lost are the feathers to the wind.
They say it was taken away by greed
How could they have been so blind
For their food was from blown seed
Like the lost feathers to the wind.
I rode the prairie rough and wild
Lost are the feathers to the wind.

Gamely Wench

I'd say I was a gamely wench
That drunk a good flagon or two
Ne'er one to be sat on a bench
'Til I had me more than a few.
Tho' I never was a hard drinker
I just love the taste of the brew
But by hook, line, or to sink her
I shall have me more than a few.
Yea I'd say It was a gamely run
And so were them menly folk too
For when I had me more than fun
I shalt have me more than a few.
I'd say I was a gamely wench
'Til I had me more than a few.

On Impulse

So wide is the lake before me
How deep within loves emotion
That shalt set my feelings free.
My love is deeper than any ocean
In my dream I saw him waving
To attract me was his intention
And I knew my love was craving
For love is deeper than any ocean.
On impulse I had needs to swim
Relax my fear of inborn tension
To remain within the arms of him
With a love deeper than any ocean.
So wide is the lake before me
My love is deeper than any ocean.

Run Of The Mill

How cruel a shift within the mill
Within the past century of old
Work was hard with no free will
Life was the price of a fools gold.
Women toiled as hard as a man
And had to do as they were told
Vanity was not within a mans plan
To earn the price of a fools gold.
Children never ventured to school
Their pleasures was never on hold
They grew stronger but ne-er a fool
Yet earned the price of fools gold.
How cruel a shift within the mill
Life was the cost of a fools gold.

'I say old boy crime is to blame`
Says Sherlock it stands to reason

He shall be one devious person.

Witness Of Love

We who hath beset our emotions
Shalt ere seeketh of devotion
Casting aside our frivolous ways
Love shall be our witness this day
I shalt e'er recall of thy charm
When I lay content in thy arm
Amidst heather upon thee braes
Love shall be our witness this day
Plant thy kiss for I could not take
Lest inner passion should awake
Pray do not go for thou must stay
Love shall be our witness this day.
We who hath beset our emotions
Love shall be our witness this day.

Youthful Frivolity

Recalling a spring when I was young
With imagination the songs I sung
Back then I was only a young maid
Skipping merrily within the glade.
Dreams of fantasy crossed my mind
Apart from nature twas another kind
That had caused my past to fade
Skipping merrily within the glade.
What I felt was so deep inside
Of love that could not be denied
For my past was left in the shade
Skipping merrily within the glade.
Recalling a spring when I was young
Skipping merrily within the glade.

These Hands

These hands have not had a manicure
They were they never soft like you
Your safety my love I will ensure.
With these hands you can feel secure
How much do I love to touch you
And please you so love will endure
A simple touch, is this the key?
With these hands you can feel secure
How much with you do I love to play
And pleasure my life’s amour
Love will light up the dullest day
With these hands you can feel secure
Love will light up the dullest day
With these hands you can feel secure.

Your Hands

Your hand have heavens strength in them
Yearning heart beating it's anthem
Safe haven for frailer pale ones
Securely held, my love is won.
Much do I love to be touched
Well pleased by them, I feel cherished
Such simple touches, my hearts key
Securely held, my love is won.
These things do I love to know well
Fortunate pleasure is the spell
I safely dwell in ne'er undone
Securely held, my love is won.
Your hands have heavens strength in them
Securly held, my love is won.

Sonnet Sequence
Mirror of Senses

Sight: the first sense:

Your reflection in the window
I wonder is it you that I see?
Each time we pass I look at it
I only see what you permit.
What lurks behind the smile
I see and me you so beguile?
Each time we meet do you commit
I only see what you permit.
You turn to me, two more mirrors
Do your eyes hide your sorrows?
My inquisition they do not admit
I only see what you permit.
Your reflection in the window
I only see what you permit.

Sound: the second sense:

Your reflection in the window
The depth of your love I wonder
It does not speak will not admit
It only says what you permit.
It turns to me, still with a smile
No sound from your image to beguile
No vows of love will it commit
It only says what you permit.
If only that image could be heard
If only three exquisite words
Could be heard to come from it
I only hear what you permit?
Your reflection in the window
I only hear what you permit.

Smell: the third sense:

Your reflection in the window
Sweet, more fragrant than any bluet
Has no scent, where is the odour?
What is the fragrance you permit?
Clean, showered and freshly soaped
The tangy bouquet where is it?
This reflection doesn't bring me hope
What is the fragrance you permit?
This glass image has no essence
There is no loves pungency in it
Which can compare to your presence
What is the fragrance you permit?
Your reflection in the window
What is the fragrance you permit?

Taste: the fourth sense:

Your reflection in the window
Will my tongue savour every bit
What flavour does it endow
What is the taste that you permit?
There is not the mouth watering
I can't explore the tasty split
Lip smacking tangy appetiser.
What is the taste that you permit?
The saltiness there is none
There's no finer meal I must admit
Flavoured loves juices are gone
What is the taste that you permit?
Your reflection in the window
What is the taste that you permit?

Touch: the fifth sense:

Your reflection in the window
Why is it not possible to touch it?
How can I make its heart grow?
What may I touch, that you permit?
This impostor’s image in the mirror
But not your love that special vite
Holds your shape and your form
What may I touch, that you permit?
How well I know your softness
Trembling flesh willing to submit
Your warm wet lips so soft to kiss
What may I touch, that you permit?
Your reflection in the window
What may I touch, that you permit?

Soul: the sixth sense:

Your reflection in the window
The love light that your soul emits?
Are you Juliet and I your Romeo
How may I know what you permit?
What lurks behind your smile
Mona Lisa looking so enigmatic
Is it me you wish to beguile?
How may I know what you permit?
You turn to me, two more mirrors
Is it love for me you must admit
Must you forever hide your sorrows
How may I know what you permit?
Your reflection in the window
How may I know what you permit?
