#04 The Body Language of Love

Thank you all who took up the last challenge. I hope this next one provides you some food for the muse. I'd also like to say thank you for your patience and support in the last few weeks whist I have been off line

As I write this challenge January has turned into February already and we are days away from the global day of romance and love, St. Valentines. I hadn't intended the theme of body language to be one of love but I cannot see why the two cannot combine. The body language of love is often more revealing than words and poets throughout history have captured more of human love in their verse to make romance their own art form - none more so than on Tir.

Blessings of love and light

Ebb and Flow

Do not walk behind please let me look
Rather walk alongside me holding my hand
Let us blaze a path that is shared so grand
Walking slowly, sharing each other's outlook.
There is no single point at which we can book
There is no separation between land and skies
Instead they share a union as their time flies
As sand and sea constantly change their look.
So should it be with you that I share each day
Curious do you value me enough to ask me this
A simple question to ask along lifetime's way?
Are you prepared to follow my way or dismiss
Allow me to help and prevent us to not go astray
Walk with me, in the end we'll find eternal bliss.

The Party

At this party all the faces are slack,
The drinks flow but look at them.
Empty minds only babbling phlegm
Saying nothing fruitful, the senses lack.
More's drunk, you hear the fools yak
Consider how wise and sober you are.
A boring drone, you wish you were afar
But you know to leave could risk the sack.
Suddenly you see eyes above the glass,
Wise, sober eyes laughing at all the fools
Eyes meet and I see someone who is class.
See a question who're you with these mules
Love begins, each others eyes made the pass
From a casual glance you've found a jewel.

Apollo nou Muses

How they dance around a circle of the sun
Chanting of prophesies to the ancient lyre
Grecian maidens amidst flames of a pyre
Shall for ever dance until the day is done
Not a one that chants shall be ever alone
To chant within circle's may never expire
Such is the golden vision of the solar fire
Within ancient festive rituals all are prone
Such are the pleas and prayers unto Apollo
A muse that obey's yet commands none
But beauty and warmth for all that follow
With the glory and presence of everyone
May bide the lights that glow the morrow
When the rays of a moons beam is done.

Sun Dancer

Within freedom of the spirit and of mind
Upon this planet and the oceans intensity
That through time found a past identity
So vast within the wilderness of mankind
Strong rays of the sun were bright to find
Of past times that natives could unwind
That through time found a past identity
Humanity may dance to the earths gravity
Though natives were never so far behind
For they danced round circles like the sun
Lost within a chant of earths natural kind
Cast within the shadow of a mythical one
That only human nature may for ever find
To express freely within the dance alone.

21 The Crossing – Farewell Arina

During the second winter Arina’s health began to fail. It was shortly after my graduation from school when she collapsed that first time. Even the doctors put it down to the excitement of the day.

A few weeks earlier I had run to Loban and Arina with the news I had won a scholarship place at the state university at Coastwynne. Like any mother the pride shone from her eyes. Now as she lay in bed barely able to speak I am glad she knew,

As one year moved to the next I sat by her side only leaving so Loban could be with his wife. I would sit with Gai then always his arm draped across my shoulder and from that I would draw strength and comfort. Even so I would weep as my heart disintegrated inside me.

In the middle of January the doctor called once more. He came out of the bedroom and called us to the living room. His words struck us all dumb. “I am sorry there is nothing more I can do. She will not see tonight – you must say your goodbyes now!” A few short hours later she was gone.

In my goodbye I promised her I would get the education she so badly wanted me to have. Coastwynne was only a few miles away I could stay at home and be here for Loban and Gai. I do not know what they said as that is not for me to know.

After the funeral we placed her ashes in her garden, the garden she loved so much. In the fountain I placed a rose angel engraved with the word ‘Mum’.

Years later I sit here in her garden and feel her with me. It is just Gai and I now. My fingers touch the rose angels in the fountain as I look at my husband and smile – you knew about that too didn’t you Mum?
