2014 Poetry Form Challenge

#01 Rondine

This is another very neglected and a very challenging repeating poetry form. It consists of two stanzas, a septet (7 lines), and a quintet (5 lines), making the poem a total of 12 lines. There is a refrain in which the last line of each stanza mimics the first phrase of the first line. R.
The Rondine has a rhyme scheme of,
(R a). b. b. a. a. b. R....a. b. b. a. R.
The meter is open with the French style and not bound by a rhyming pattern and is a more light and buoyant even "flashy" form of poetry which uses short lines, whereas the English is more formal and uses Tetrameter or Pentameter.
Here is an example by Wesli Court.
Rondine of the Rare Device.
"if you can kiss the mistress never kiss the maid"

The maid will do if your not ambitious-
Why split the stalk if twigs will make the besom?
Why kill the roots if one may steal the blossom?
The garden is a plot of sundry pleasures
Filled with winding paths and rare devices,
Here a fountain, there a Grecian column-
The maid will do

Rose O'Morning winds upon the trellis
All hips and nettle snags and lures at random.
Is desire the better part of wisdom?
Brown-eyed Susan smiles from her bed of grasses-
The maid will do.

Wesli Court

A Rondine, or Something Like It

A Rondine eh...I must give it a go
Even if I can only do just one
Ere the Challenge is over, and it's gone.
What can I say...remiss of me I know,
It seems to me my muse is on 'go slow.'
I am determined though to get one done…
A Rondine eh?

More hours in each day would help also
Each day is over before it's begun
They're in a race that old moon and the sun;
It's finished, do I hang my head or crow?
A Rondine eh?

Tetelestai (Paid in full)

Tetelestai… He cancelled our debt
And gave us all a chance for a fresh start,
And has each of our names writ in His Heart.
He paid the highest price, His Life, and yet
We disregard Him easily and let
Ourselves be distracted… not very smart.
Tetelestai!

Sometimes we complain when we are beset
By cares, or moreso when our apple-cart
Has been capsized; we have to do our part
And cling to Him, no need to fuss or fret.
Tetelestai!

Day of Rest

I sit quietly on this day of rest
Entertained by clouds playing in sunlight
No polluted thinking from late at night
Unproven, unexplained, I am at best
Outcast and thrown on this god-seeking quest
No distracting demands of low world might
I sit quietly.

Lizard basking and soaking the sunlight
Feline drowsily roasting in circles
Mesmerizing light and sound by furlough
Slow down the maddening rush of the fight
I sit quietly.

Breathe Not So Deep

Breathe not so deep my love to sound like a sigh
Rather each breath shall be a tribute to passion
I want thee complete not ways that are of fashion
Realise that to lose thee, I would much rather die.
Taking thee to heights above where angels fly
Each kiss given in pleasure rather than ration.
Breathe not so deep my love.

Waiting and wanting that confluence draw nigh
Touch not so wary my love, look not so ashen
My only desire now is to ease your frustration
My lips or more I'm only willing to comply
Breathe not so deep my love.

Cooling Breath

A cooling breath steals the leaves
As all the greens fade to yellow.
The golden scene makes me mellow
Chilly, short days and long autumn eves
T-shirts replaced by long shirtsleeves
But I know in time warmth will follow
A cooling breath.

Now nature no longer conceives
And fields lay silent, sleeping, fallow,
Burnt out forests look dark and sallow
In time will change as nature receives
A cooling breath.

-----

Curiosity, (More than)

What are those thoughts, I'm getting from you
Do they speak of love and are intended for me
And should I ask or else pretend I did not see?
If I should act on them what would you do
You see my dilemma this is a dangerous brew
Would I overstep the mark, would you flee?
What are those thoughts?

Would I be wrong saying I wish to pursue
Casting my hat, down on my bended knee
And hoping and praying that you'd agree?
I will admit thou art truly a heady brew.
What are those thoughts?

Desert Sand

The desert sand hides all its tales
And all that's left is a rich red sea.
More silent by far than water could be,
As it covers up all of histories trails
Time after time all searching fails.
Enigmatic, retaining its mysteries
The desert sand hides all.

Sometimes for a while it reveals
A wondrous event of yesteryear
A veil drawn aside for all to see
Then again it's mysteries it seals
The desert sand hides all.

-----

Fair Winds

Fair winds and fortune, beckons us all
The things we see are images, no more
The relentless sea pounding the shore.
When love in her glory makes her call
Souls are the vessels with which love hauls
Not just a journey, but a reason to explore
Fair winds and fortune.

We make each life, each love a port of call
Sailing on the seas which life regularly pours
And winds like storm, or calm, just doors
Sometimes like this one it will be so small
Fair winds and fortune.

-----

Humpty Dumpty

I was not meant to sit on a wall
But it was you who put me there
I believed when you said you care.
I did not wish to have this fall
And said that I loved you over all,
But now my shell is broke and bare
I was not meant to sit on a wall.

There is no help in which to turn
So only I can put myself together
And with any senses I can gather
That's another lesson I have to learn
I was not meant to sit on a wall.

-----

I am the Wind

I am the wind breathing on the land
Each breath freshens, brings new life,
Or a bitter wind cutting like a knife.
See how the spirals twist in the sand
Or wave upon wave on the strand
A dead, brown sea that comes alive
I am the wind.

I am the wind playing on the water
Scattering waves into foaming spume
Turning the brightest day into gloom
Or calm on which waves lightly scutter
I am the wind.

-----

It's Time

The time we had, I won't forget
After all this time at last I know
It's finally time to let you go
I'm moving on without regret
Fates black hand changed the bet
And you left, but memories bestow
The time we had.

You sit there watching me no sweat,
You left so soon with our love aglow
Yet with someone else I must grow
You wont judge and there is no threat
The time we had.

-----

Just a Drink at Twilight

As I stood by the tree waiting for you
As the twilight grew, I rested against it.
Not moving allowing the mood permit
A group of faeries, a peaceful looking crew
Approach me offering me a brew.
So thirsty, to their will I did submit
As I stood by the tree.

Then all of a sudden, realisation! I knew
My feelings to the tree I began to transmit
And through that drink began to commit
Unable to stay with normal life I bade adieu
As I stood by the tree.

-----

Just a Little While

For just a little while I am here
And then too soon I must leave,
Realising then I must always grieve.
Each meeting removes some fear
From each other and lifts our love higher
About what we really wish to believe
For just a little while.

Each meeting, words of love we rehear
Each meeting states we must believe
Give in and open up in order to receive;
With each night another chance to hear
For just a little while.

-----

Kismet (Or is it?)

Whilst travelling life's mysterious trail
No longer wondering what is in store
Some find ease and want much more.
And never ever have faced Fate's flail
Life has paths ordained that we hail
But looking out is seen three or four
Whilst travelling.

Could we take another and still prevail
Alternative moves makes questions sore.
What are those other ones used for
So a route's chosen and we dare not fail
Whilst travelling.

On the Last Day

On the last day the word created flesh
In its madness the flesh created fear,
In its boredom saw creatures appear
And on its freedom evil began to impress
The need for religion and how to dress
Differences in sexes, how women should appear.
On the last day.

Creating the difference created an unmesh
Where women in public had to be austere
In some places unaccompanied not appear
Not allowed to compete or worse impress
On the last day

-----

Profile of Destiny

What is this thing we call a soul
I cannot see, nor can I feel
And you tell me that it so real.
Yet without it I am not whole
I sit here and watch my life unroll
Silent waiting for fate to deal
What is this thing?

It seems inevitable after all
As Destiny winds in her reel
With heat and wax she makes a seal
As cupid fires, once again I fall
What is this thing?

-----

Quandary

Delve beneath the many masks I wear,
And come; look into my tormented soul
As my heart I bare, fragile, broken
So many fractured pieces lie there;
With each deep crack, another segment
Shrivels up, withers and dies til when?
Delve beneath the many masks.

Glimpses await those who look beyond,
For the man of masks who lays in wait
Passion in his eyes, lungs charred with pain
Feel the masks rise in your soul forever to remain...
Delve beneath the many masks.

-----

Tears Will Be Shed

Tears will be shed so many times
And so with time we build a wall
To stand behind and hide from it all
And miss our soulmate ofttimes.
Perhaps too often playing games
Tears will be shed.

Fortune favours lovers most times
Love oercomes the worst pitfalls
Do not judge on what befalls
Do not judge on past bedtimes
Tears will be shed.

-----

There Is No Point

There is no point to life at all
if all we ever have is pain,
and with each birth the same.
Throughout life we pay a toll
such a cost if we should fall
there can be nothing to gain
There is no point.

In life's game we make a call
sometimes there is a gain
or sometimes we bet in vain
and life is worth naught at all
There is no point.

-----

Uncertainty

Where are you going my lady?
On what roads have you journeyed,
Did you walk or where you conveyed?
What secrets have our souls shared
And, what in truth have we declared?
What have we lost that we may need
Where are you going?

How may I remove your doubts so shady
And cast aside never needing any shade
Why is it by me you feel so betrayed
Haven't I proved myself many times already
Where are you going?

-----

Unfair

When I touch you I see you smile at me
Just for a while I don't have to scheme.
Instead things are certainly as they seem
All plans are working as they should be.
For a short while we have a loving spree
Where you and I can share that dream
When I touch you.

No time is long enough to share with thee
And just hours apart would seem extreme
Yet we must spend so long apart, I scream
That fate has given us both this agony
When I touch you.

-----

Values

As I sat quietly among the eucalyptus trees
I was in time joined by some special friends
I ask naught of them, or even seek amends
'stead we sat and savoured the evening breeze
In this way it will be believed by degrees
That enmity with humans will finally end,
As we sat quietly.

We sat and drank wine and I ate some cheese
I told them how with some, childhood ends.
Nodding when told how poetry transcends
And we will become closer now by degrees,
As we sit quietly.

-----

What Good Is Love

What good is love if there is no trust
So much time has been wasted
Then so much pain will be created
A relationship like steel turns to rust.
A garden of love has just become dust
And bitter bile is all that's now tasted.
What good is love.

Love is now just a green rotted crust
Where when before together we mated
Holding each other close when sated
But that was killed tonight by distrust
What good is love.

When Clouds Cry

When clouds cry it's not because they're sad
They know that true love is meant.
And most lovers have the right intent.
They have looked down and are glad.
To see love they realise things aren't bad
When clouds cry.

There is nothing that they need to add.
They happily look down and are content
Smiling happily knowing love is present
When hearing spoken a love ballad
Then clouds cry.

-----

You Came To Me

You came to me without reserve,
Freely given, your arms extended.
I take your hand we are blended
I see your eyes and feel your verve.
Our love I vow, I will preserve
Fear not our love is so splendid
You came to me.

You promise me all that I deserve
There is naught with you I dread
Here's my hand I'm willingly led
Anything you want I'll gladly serve
You came to me.

YOh Love, do you know thy brother Hate?
Nay! Please realise that he remembers thee;
For no matter how ignorant thou dost be,
His knowledge of thee could never dissipate.
And shouldst thou seek, perchance, to expiate,
Or whish to make amends for past inclemency
Whilst thou art modest, forgiving in thy decency,
Oh Love!

He was never ever known to mitigate.
Or ever was he heard to thoughtfully agree
Stead he went his way causing all with misery
And all would be blamed on thy cousin Fate.
Oh Love!

Zested

From pain and sorrow you crave
I've collected a bottle of my tears
Until I had a sea of salty spheres
From when you said goodbye, I'd save
Each a heart drop from me your slave
Multiplied, and colonized, with the years
From pain and sorrow.

Within that bottle was my life so grave
Creating whirlpools in tideless seas.
Suddenly I saw my life and my fears
Realizing only sanity would save
From pain and sorrow.

Cinderella Retold

I have found upon the steps to the palace
One of Cinderellas brand new court shoes
But I do not think it is what I would chose
Not that I would bear her much of malice
But the prince himself for me shall suffice
For I know I shall never fail to enthuse
I have found.

At stroke of midnight she appears deranged
Shall only add fuel to the flames of my fire
Yet I know he shall prefer love with desire
For a Prince prefers his lovers exchanged
I have found.

Come Hold My Hand

Come hold my hand, and lead me to
a mystical land, of honey and spice,
exotic flavours, of jasmine and rice,
where tamarinds grow tall and true,
with plenty of love, from me, to you
as hot spices of the land entice.
Come hold my hand.

Lets us rejoice in love and laughter,
moments are special, for you, and I,
while all the stars, high up in the sky.
shine down on us both, forever after,
Come hold my hand.

-----

Deep In The Darkest Night

Deep In the darkest night within a dream
You are more than just a memory of love
More than imaginations of lust thereof
But all that true lovers hearts may seem
Within the warmth of a moons light above
For this the moment to be worthy of
Deep in the darkest night

Shall this be passion that both shall redeem
That only within time itself shall but prove
When time passes by the earth shall move
Love shall flourish to the highest esteem
Deep In the darkest night.

-----

It Hath Come To Pass

It hath come to pass so many moons ago
There shall be a light come from the sky
That beams down to earth upon thee an I
This light shall be a true blessing to show
Within a voice of wisdom words shall flow
That restrain earth angels tears to a sigh
It hath come to pass.

This earth shalt not yet be ready to go
Tho' a voice of wisdom spake from high
For it shall not now be Earths time to die
If this was so all life upon earth may know
It hath come to pass.

-----

Mists Of Time

Cast not aside dreams that float adrift
Within memory they may forever stay
Stored within to revive for another day
Or fallen apart and lost within the mist
Of a moment that may no longer exist.
Images of past then forever fade away
Cast not aside.

Of times past should never be forgotten
Dreams shall forever be there to remind
Within the mist of time shall forever bind
That which was graced for love besotten
Cast not aside.

-----

Oaken Galleons

The wind doth whistle thro` the night
tall oakens, bend like galleons, at sea,
green leafy sails, now billowing free,
by gusts of nature`s cruel wanton flight.
rushing through deep forest`s, in plight,
a wildest fury, that just cannot appease
The wind doth whistle.

Darkened clouds rolling through the sky,
thunderous, now bursting, to heavy rain
drenching, dark forest loam once again,
while still we hear, a wood pigeon cry
The wind doth whistle.

-----

Of Elphin Lore

Of Elphin lore that plucks the harp of gold
Mystic melodies that echo's within fantasy
Some say that they are only of fallacy
Returned to us from past days of old
A mystery within musical notes untold
That only an image of dreams shall see
Of Elphin lore.

But if they have returned from the past
And all within fantasy remain as true
What tales shall their lyrics construe
May our futuristic times be cast
Of Elphin lore.

-----

Oceanic Echos

I call his name he does not hear me
Maybe a vision within a dream
Shall not be true as it may seem
Within a misty haze from the sea
Images of fantasy shall break free
But none that lovers shall redeem
I call his name.

Vast the ocean that breaks us apart
That echos of lovers long since past
Which only within memories cast
Still may remain in loving hearts
I call his name.

-----

Passing Ships

Of ships that pass on a wild ocean
Battling against the wind and rain
Nothing within distance they gain
Struggling upon the seas emotion
Within devout sailors devotion
A danger they cannot constrain
Of ships that pass.

Wild the winds driven by source
Pounding of waves that leap and rise
Unheard the crew of sailors cries
That had so sadly changed course
Of ships that pass.

-----

Roman Remains

Of mass carnage on a roman battle ground
Long past soldiers sword and shield at rest
Within silent tombs that death possessed
Bearing chains of captivity tightly bound
Slaves whose lives were then suppressed
Stripped of pride within a fierce contest
Of mass carnage.

Yet still these roman slaves remained bound
For years ahead historians were impressed
It was only recently they had confessed
That still there is evidence to be found
Of mass carnage.

-----

Sacred Rituals

Sacred were the rights of ancient byways
Tangled brown moss upon an old Village Cot:
Memories still haunt yet they fear them not
Ghostly image of past may return always
There may be no release`til the final phase
When their ancient laws are not of praise
Sacred were the rights.

Where was the law that pledged good will
Damned was the loss of the poor offender
For within death was their only defender
Yet they now haunt the old homestead still
Sacred were the rights.

-----

Sailors Song

A sailor I be who sailed the great ocean
Come pour me a jug 0'yon bootleg rum
I'll sing ye a song or I maybe just hum
Of a wench that freely shares devotion
A couple of jugs and she may succumb
I may be hooked but I am never dumb
'Tis a Sailor I be.

I am never afraid to show my emotions
Tho' I admit they are warmer than some
I maybe drunk but I shall never be numb
Nor ailing within this sea faring motion
'Tis a Sailor I be.

-----

Solemn Vows

She stands alone on her wedding day
Her heart broken from an eternal bond
Lost are the vows that shall never respond
She never dreamed it would end this way
Nor within promise he would she betray
There was no future within a vagabond
She stands alone.

Promises were broken as tears did flow
Why did he treat his intended this way
Yet still this summers breeze may blow
Feigned to trust in what others say
She stands alone.

-----

Two Minutes Silence

Within this silence we dare not laugh or cry
Not even talk or whisper within a breeze
Not even for a second must we sneeze
Until two long minutes shall pass on by
But how shall one make any guarantees
For suppression shall cause much unease
Within this silence.

What about the breath of the winds sigh
Shall two minute silence suddenly freeze
If mother of nature should fail to please
May she also be ordered to pass on by
Within this silence.

-----

Wind Song

O'song of the wind frolick wild and free
Where thy spirits shall now forever remain
Born to thrive within green pastures again
Shaded `neath the boughs of an oaken tree
Shall not thy timid eye fear nought to see
Nor fear the choral sound of soft refrain
O'song Of The Wind.

Born to be wild within a natural stance
Free from captors and the wiles of man
Those who hath ruled since time began
Freedom of nature shall forever advance
O'song Of The Wind.

-----

Wings to Fly

If I had wings to fly like a swallow
I should soar above clouds so high
Sadly no plumes of feathers have I
Which maybe a hard act to follow
To soar above a buttercup meadow
Was what I dreamed to do just fly
If I had wings.

If I could only beg steal or borrow
feathers are what I need just to try
But alas I shall not show my sorrow
For natures winds shall hide my cry
If I had wings.

-----

Without Love

As tears flow may be of sorrow
Of hurt and pain that dwell therein
The broken hearted shall never win
When there is no chance to borrow
With no consolation the morrow
When heartaches shall then begin
As tears flow.

Shalt be no loving arms to hold
No hint of affection in his eyes
She the broken hearted ever cries
But passions within may unfold
As tears flow.

Pleading at Dawn

Just five more minutes, please I beg of you,
This dream is nearly done and so am I,
For if I cannot sleep I'll surely die -
Besides I have some flying left to do,
A lover somewhere close or perhaps two,
And I can barely open up one eye -
Just five more minutes.

A morning's rest in bed is overdue,
I've images in adequate supply
and fantasies aplenty left to try;
I cannot bear to bid it all adieux -
Just five more minutes.

A Breeze from the Sea

A breeze arises from the depths of seas,
like warming ships the sun commands the sky,
as eager clouds of gulls are set to fly,
before darkness brings the day to its reprise.
I sat upon the shore in restful ease,
as gurgling waves reveal ocean's lost sigh,
a breeze rises.

Smooth pebbles echo sounds from dusky frieze,
the faded thoughts left behind by storm's eye,
and scents of leathered kelp as sweet as rye,
enhance the peace beyond the tide of seas,
a breeze rises.

-----

Circles Of Stone

Oh whisper winds across the plain, I sing to Thee,
as ancient stones surround my soul with grace,
in depredation look to her sweet face.
a silhouette against the storm in me,
on knees I plea for blessed sanctuary,
her voice is calling from another place,
oh, whisper winds across the plain.

With no beginning there is no end; see
my eyes the truth finally takes its place,
contrite, my heart in Pagan love embrace,
my Goddess, pray my soul still calls to Thee,
oh, whisper winds across the plain.

-----

Dysphoric Morning

Soft breath before awakening
Igniting flames within a dream
The passion beneath a moonbeam
In intimate glances eyes close
Basic instincts of just suppose
Before awakening

Fleeting kisses whispers propose
In the pleasures senses redeem
But it is just a lover's dream
Confused thoughts say no I suppose
Before awakening

-----

Hidden

Texte: My pulse was given to her many times - On Disappearing by Major Jackson

Still hiding feelings from the light
Of day; those thoughts I should ignore
Afraid it will be like before
With nothing left nor will to fight
I run to the cover of night
Still hiding.

While lost in the shadowed delight
My heart is yearning even more
As senses chant a lover's roar
When you are in my line of sight
Still hiding

-----

Hot Summer's Night

Call out my name on a hot summer's night,
I am the phantom who invades your dreams,
fleeting ice kisses to leave cooling streams.
feel the breeze caress beneath lunar light,
reach for the heights of my ceaseless delights,
tender moments before your passion screams,
call out my name.

Bitten by love your heart is in my sight,
bitter pain echoes in your heated dreams
as talons pierce who cares to hear your screams,
and I, queen of the night take my flight,
call out my name.

-----

Mystical Spirit

Sleeping in the moon's grace with Death beside,
a chilled embrace to ward against the night,
when dreams of demonic poppies take fright,
his grasp will hold whilst sleeping thoughts reside,
in darker realms where my heart needs a guide
I pray he stays to save me from this plight,
sleeping in the moon's grace.

My brother Death is a mystical sprite,
who saw slumbering tears I often cried,
and comes to cast the grey phantoms aside,
so rest can strengthen my spirit each night
sleeping in the moon's grace.

-----

No More

Should love come calling my hungered heart
In darkness feelings are ever shy
And I look away saying goodbye
For love has torn my world apart
Until I'm left no place to start
So forgive me as I now deny
Should love come calling my hungered heart

This pain is now my devoted art
And songs of love do not apply
When all I can do is a sigh
No more I say as I depart
Should love come calling my hungered heart

-----

Sorry

Will you forgive the things I do so wrong?
I know I make mistakes and hurt you bad,
the love I hold dear is no girlish fad,
I need your smile to say that I belong,
regretful days I yearn for your sweet song.
each night I lay awake my heart is sad,
will you forgive?

Recoiling at words from a sharper tongue,
as eyes implore to feel your love a tad,
even though I made your sweetest heart sad,
just one kiss to prove our love is still strong,
will you forgive?

-----

Spellbound

I'm in her trance, an enchanted love spell
as you hold me close in desire's silk net,
we dance to mellow tones of clarinet,
as crowds of jazz dancers slowly dispel,
in vibrancy that mystic stories tell,
my mind mislaid to all things I forget,
I'm in her trance.

Bewitched advances the moment eyes met,
crystalline orbs where my passions now dwell,
willingly spellbound as love starts to swell,
charmed nerves of doubt have no reasons to fret,
I'm in her trance.

-----

Tangled Wings

She cannot fly on tangled wings
Like a moth caught in spheres of light
Enchanted by the ways of night
Her still voice unable to speak
She tires in feelings lost and weak
As hope begins to fade from sight
She cannot fly

Gentle his fingers take up the fight
A tug between a teasing tweak
Her wings unfurl ready for flight
A kiss of sorts, a tap of beak
She can fly

-----

Tantric Breath

One soothing breath, inhaling peace of mind,
a surge of energy to lift my soul,
above the noise of life, I'm feeling whole,
when life brings pain I need the time to find
internal strength to let my thoughts unwind,
respiring cadence, tantric trance console,
one soothing breath.

My solace found with city lights behind,
the sweetest peach which lies in life's fruit bowl,
a place to hide away, my own bolt hole,
away from darker truths that seem unkind,
one soothing breath.

-----

Upon the Snow

As eyes looked out upon the snow
This winter's night the bells would ring
The midnight hour as children sing
An old year ends without a fight
And Auld Lang Syne its comfort brings
As eyes looked out upon the snow

And lovers dance beyond our sight
Igniting dreams as senses sing
On her finger he placed his ring
His love declared beneath moonlight
As eyes looked out upon the snow

April's Fool

It is too late now I've stopped believing
winter's chill in bones plunges far too deep
in dark sorrow's blanket I lie and weep
the calendar's promise was deceiving
frost's minions continue their warmth-thieving
while I clutch at small comforts mine to keep.
It is too late

for heart's joy, my happiness I'm grieving
as I burrow deeper into calm of sleep
no peace sown in life but in Death shall reap
silence beckons so I must be leaving
It is too late.

Liquid Day

Another liquid day clouds thought-sense
with its palette in shades of murky gray -
who invited Winter to this extended stay?
With sleet jewelry adorning every fence,
naked trees groan beneath icy opulence;
silver chiffon shimmers across the bay
on yet another liquid day.

In weary, hopeful eyes Spring rainbows dance,
restless leaves and blossoms coyly flirt and sway
a sun cloaked in gold sends freezing rain away;
brilliant aural prisms will caress each loving glance
until another liquid day.

The Book of Forms

The Book of Forms can bring to each
the poetry he yearns to learn.
Aspiring poets will return
to search the knowledge within reach,
improving their poetic speech.
It teaches meter with concern,
The Book of Forms.

Examples shown, we don't impeach;
they're chosen carefully, in turn
parameters no longer burn,
bring freedom in constraint- a peach,
The Book of Forms.

Orchestra

Orchestral waves of music, well defined,
as rondos stately dance with soft refrain
and graceful fingers weave in gentle reign;
the flute blends in with higher tones entwined,
supported by the violins in kind.
While bows glide up and down on passion's strain,
orchestral waves.

A hundred tiny notes are now combined,
as lustrous pearls are strung on shining chains;
the rippling sounds are threads that will sustain
lost harmony, when words are left behind
orchestral waves.

Tessa

With one big leap she jumps upon my bed,
gives me a fright, I was away in dreams;
she bumps her head against my face and screams:
wake up, you lazy human, go ahead,
the sun is up, I haven't yet been fed!
What happened to the day's regimes?
With one big leap

she has destroyed the soft embrace that spread
through night skies, travelled moonlit beams
to bring us both together on love's streams;
now all too sudden waking broke the thread-
with one big leap.

Tongues

A serpent's tongue is treacherous, it feigns,
with hypnotizing speed it moves, hides fangs
until too late, the victim feels its pangs.
As poison from sharp teeth is sent through veins
it slowly paralyses nerves and brain;
the body falters, as its last call rang-
a serpent's tongue.

The snake is slithering away, it strains
and tries to swallow up what once still sang;
the gorging done, it leaves a bitter tang-
the venom that was used, changed course, remains
a serpent's tongue.

Roses in Bagdad

Oh, chaos rules again; they brawl
in wake of Saddam's fall from reign
and like a cat presents its game,
the roses snatched from castle walls
are bouquets for the heroes all.
But raging dogs must shake their claim.
Oh, chaos rules again.

The sun goes down, the evening call
is caution - death in fire and flame.
The find of jackets wired for pain
and empty hangers tell it all.
Oh, chaos rules again.

Somewhere In Time

Somewhere in time we have met before
That forever remains deeply in our mind
So much closer together for love to bind
Peaceful and tranquil on our island shore
With special needs once more to explore
Of eternal spirits that return to mankind
Somewhere in time.

Memories of the past shall not go amiss
Within time love shall remain as stronger
For the passing time shall be much longer
Unto an undying bond of everlasting bliss
Somewhere in time.

Somewhere in Time

Somewhere in time two lovers met one day
Their life was like a parade and carried on
Between then and now they saw each dawn
After the moon, the sun leading their way
There was a grey zone that happened one day
Then that day through age a lover was gone
Somewhere in time.

She had no-one she could care for each day
No planning a future they lived as one.
In sorrow Fate saw this and created a plan
Now through to eternity together they'll stay
Somewhere in time.

That Certain Smile

For that certain smile, and certain kiss
those loving arms, that enfold me close,
a certain glance, which pleases me most,
that loving touch, finding hard to resist,
when you are away, you I shall miss,
I would but search, from coast to coast
For that certain smile.

To love and play, to sing and dance,
are precious moments, in every way
two hearts, beat closer, every day
searching together, in true romance,
For that certain smile.

This love

This love, a vision how it finds us
Joining who were as strangers
Unified, forever, in this love.
This love, mirrored now forever
We will love throughout the ages,
Two who share eternity together
This love.

This love, picture us a couple,
Older now and much wiser,
More sharing of each other
Knowing that there will always be
This love
