Sonnet's Journey - Ivorian Sonnet XXXV

My pen that writes the words of many things
Yet everything stops to hear the love that sings
No matter where a poet sits each night
her thoughts return to stay beside you dear
A sonnet's journey is to touch love's light
A missive signed and sealed by poets's lips
that form a kiss to gently ease the ache
our senses wound in cherished reels and strips
and there in words we speak the love we make
Each night as love letters begin their flight
I lose the dreaded sense of loss and fear
that often lead my tender heart to break
Each soothing word of ink so softly springs
To resonate again upon your lips.

Autumn Morning - 41

Black clouds lurk behind the distant hills
Threatening cold rains and daytime chills
Like a distant army assembling for battle
And getting ready for the final attack,
We see flashes of light and dullish rattle.
A red morning sky in the east appears
"Red sky in morning a warriors warning".
But suddenly, slowly, happily it all clears
Bright yellow spears promise the morning.
The sky's warmed, the morning sun cheers
And the menacing weather is driven back.
The clear blue sky now offers no warning
Again becoming aware of the avian's prattle
As blue skies appear behind the Yu Yang hills.

Come; Play in the Rain With Me - 14

See the dark stormy clouds on their way
And clouds once white have turned grey'
Growing darker still, like a black lubricant
Easing the way as the storms approach
And with it you sniff the fresh fruity scent.
Have you really ever played in the rain,
Felt the wetness run through your hair,
The peace, the purity as it cleans the brain
Washing away all problems, becoming bare.
Felt it wetting your clothes, but you stay
And feeling every kiss from that falling rain
I'm lustful, every pleasure I wish you'd grant
In the rain, hold nothing back, do all you'd dare
Even seeing sunlight and morning approach.

-----

Gentle Rose - 114

Gentle rose protected by those thorns so well
Yet so many of us are attracted by your smell
Why must you threaten us with so much harm?
I know of no one that is not in love with thee
Even thinking of thy beauty makes me warm.
Every colour of you, I had happily on view
But now tis autumn and you'll rest awhile.
Then one late August day winter'll be through
And again you will give us a reason to smile.
Soon I'll walk out the house and begin to smile
All the bushes'll be wet and green and I'll see
Then we will sniff the air and bid Winter adieu
Once again seduced by your aromatic charms
You who are protected by those thorns so well.

-----

Ghost Paths - 31

It's difficult just looking at dead petals
There is the proof, the seasons finals.
Offered to a next door neighbour
Or just blowing down the street
Never again on my plants to harbour
Nor is the sky particularly interesting.
And then the northerlies bring the planes,
Their flight-path over my house it'll bring
This time without the much needed rains.
There is summers ghost on every corner
Every driveway I go past out walking
Shows me nature has reached her finals
Expect each day the inclemency's meet
As seasons gifts disappear down the drains.

-----

Let's Dance --- 47

Let's dance within thy soul, calling out thy name,
Kisspering words that make us both feel the same
To get lost within, and finally blend soul to soul.
Each day I pray for thee to feel the same as I
Quench thy thirst on me and make me feel whole
I will be thy pillow, thy blanket, and thy bed.
Apart two halves, but together we are just one
Loving thee, drinking wine and breaking bread
Life after life until Eternity is finally done.
Thou hast shown willing and given me thy all
For that I will give thee all that has been done
Still being with thee when all the stars have fled
In future times love will flourish again and again
And, more certain still, we will have all eternity.

-----

Media Truths Consequences --- 32

A Tarantella upon the written word,
Threadings once woven are now absurd
Creating in paparazzi a desire to expose
Pursue lies, and none events happening
Biased truth revealing only what they chose.
Games are crueller than realised in youth
Now portraying the predator as the prey.
The innocent having to dig hard for proof
And justice does the blameless betray.
Catching the unwary in their vacant pose
Hammering the non essentials whilst swearing
That black is white and always was preferred.
Sociology now just breeds the uncouth,
And read ignorance what the press portray.

This Bitter Earth --- 1

(Variation on a song by Billie Holliday)

This bitter Earth, it weeps with blood
The worlds young men, and Idealistic good
For power crazy fools and lies that they say
The politics and untenable promises made
Knowing in the end only the innocent pay.
This bitter Earth in space it look so green
There is no carbon debts promised at all.
Down on the ground's a far different scene
Corporations and lunatics are having a ball
They deceive and deny everything that's good
But some are aware, and care what they say
And prepared to fight for what e'r was said
The might of the masses will in time be seen
But until then we have our backs to the wall.

-----

Twixt Worlds - 48

What is imagination if not another world
One of semi truth where facts are curled.
There are no laws of physics or any rules
Put simply, what you dream or may desire;
Abuse of this simply creates stupid fools.
Like everything any life must be a balance
Twixt world's a place of harmony and peace
All is on offer, there is no feeling of chance
When a flavour's found it may be a caprice.
But caprice or not it may awaken all desire
Then as you see your desire and love unfold
You feel wanted, more than a bag of jewels
An unequalled warmth that is of romance
And with that warmth comes inner peace.

-----

What Would You Say - 35

What would you say if I kissed you
And in doing so feel our bodies glue?
What would you say if I touched you
And in doing so feel your body tremble,
Kissing and touching all night through.
What if all the heavens were stirred now
Until the moment when worlds collide
Remaining as long as Eternity would allow
When a new one's created we'd still abide.
In space sat together new moons we'd view,
Until a new planet like Earth did assemble
We would watch as it then began to grow
Then hand in hand towards it we'd ride
This time together forever me and you.

When You've Kissed Death - 60

Only when you've kissed Death are you aware
'Til then there is not knowing, and lack of care!
Seeing the grim reaper, as he sweeps his scythe
Or hearing the wailing of Death as she calls out
Young men think they're bulletproof and feel blithe.
Only when you hear the white wings of death flap
Until that one day you hear that almost silent sound
Calling you to her bosom and her final kiss's a trap.
And that final kiss will deliver your fatal wound.
It's too late, there is no-one to hear you call out
You realise too late it has all been a cunning trap
Nobody can help you in spite of how much they care
But if you can escape and live, there will be a tithe
You'll appreciate things and enjoy more sounds.

Xpose - 1

Tourists often toss pennies into pools
Local people think that they are fools
Always hoping and wishing for too much.
Dreams always excel in pecuniary wishes
The amount thrown in reflects as such
Wish for love affairs with imperfect strangers.
My dreams have been dashed too many times,
Why should I spend when I know the dangers
Then again its only coins, just a few dimes.
There is no promise really nor are there rules
But some to all sorts of ideals and dreams clutch
And they can be served in all sorts of dishes.
True love exists by one meeting total strangers
Heartfelt wishes answered can never be a crime.

-----

Xtinction - 28

Ignoring that everyday a species dies
And present us with outrageous lies.
This allows the extinct list to climb.
The Japanese world helps add to this
Illegally killing whales is their crime
Their Whaling ships scour the seas
Deaf and blind to the worlds cries
Making profit for their companies.
Typically not feeling humanities.
The government are deaf to our cries
Politics and money help the Japanese.
Scientific Research even fools dismiss.
Governments realise it's a heinous crime
In ignoring that everyday a species dies.

-----

Yesterday and Forever - 37

Yesterday I was the sun that saw you swim,
Then smile at my warmth as I dried your skin.
Yesterday I teased your hair, I was the wind
That lifted your skirts high, and your mood
In creating that I knew that I had not sinned.
As a river I held your breasts in reflection,
You whispered secrets to the woman behind.
Yesterday I was a branch your thighs entwined
My leaves are richer having had your connection.
Today you will see all the stars have realigned
Because of your looking at them they feel good
There is nothing you ask that will be declined.
You are the very apotheosis of perfection
Today you saw the rest of your life begin.

Zeitgeist

Spring is the beginning of life again
The fresh life smiles and welcomes rain.
This world is cold, refreshed and new
Forgetting all about last years travails.
And to all of winter's ills we bid, "Adieu".
See all new life beginning to form and shoots
With scents and odours forgotten in darker times,
Inspiring as life is green, to push out new roots,
And motivating old poets to write new rhymes.
With time for thought, we cast off old devils,
And welcome once again the morning dew
See the buds on trees promising fresh fruit.
But past experience says only sometimes
We've birds and drought and wishes in vain.

Eternity of Love

Tender moments was theirs only by chance
Secluded within a forbidden romance
Upon warm summer evenings they embrace
How may submissive love prove to be wrong
For love within two hearts was no disgrace
They yearned only to be close together
For their love within was as much to blame
Was not a betrothal a promise forever
Never be brought to justice within shame
Let none put asunder or their love displace
For this was where they knew they did belong
When warmth then ignites an eternal flame
The embrace of tender kisses shall enhance
Eternally their love shared shall not sever.

-----

The First Time

The very first time that his eyes met mine
It was there clear to see of our love divine
He stood before me we both felt the same
Somehow in time we had been here before
This sense of belonging that held no shame
Shall reclaim the pleasures of joyous love
How we recall the times we loved back then
That was written within the heavens above
We knew we would return but never when
That within time how soon we shall reclaim
An eternity of love that returns once more
Shall forever be within us again and again
The very first time that your eyes met mine
Shall reclaim our pleasures of joyous love.

-----

Heartache

Tell me why wont this pain and misery go
When a heartache follows tears shall flow
Bearing hurt and anguish within the eyes
That shall only return after time yet again
`Twas only last night that I heard his sighs
When dreams awake there`is nothing left
But the echoed whispers of I love you
That soon within dawning remains bereft
Sad tears still flow with the morning dew
No one beside me to comfort my cries
But the sadness of stormy winds and rain
Maybe the sun shall one day break through
And end this turmoil of sadness and woe
Prayers to forgive are all that is left.

-----

Moon Shadow

It is soon that this night shall be upon us
The moon shall awake from darkness thus
Silence upon the void of space that glows
That shall shine on all `neath a star lit sky
Softly upon water a moons shadow throws
Out of the darkness thus shall show light
As moonlit tides flow gently to the shore
It is then the planet of earth shall delight
All that has formed shall be forever more
No matter how the winds of time shall blow
We shall still hear the sound of seagulls cry
As they scavinge for food just like before
Until the moon shall shine a heavenly plus
Out of the void once more remains bright.

-----

Poetic Insite

My quill rests not between my fingers
Whilst all thee while my muse lingers
Poetic stance shall but rule once more
Thou shalt not rest thy muse quoths he
And all thee moments his words I bore
For within my heart I knew he was right
There is many a time that tears did flow
To rely just this once on poetic insight
But what pray tell me should I ever know
If my muse is kept behind a closed door
For what hides inside has to break free
Where poetic words shall more easily flow
Whilst my quill rests not between my fingers
Deep within my heart I knew he was right.

-----

Poets Prayer

I think that I should just go away
To compose my words another day
I am far too weary to hang around
It is just what I`m thinking anyhow
If I creep away not to make a sound
Then it maybe that no one shall care
For I know I am not the full token
And I am none too willing to share
Poetic words I have left unspoken
For there was never any one around
How else could my heart ache show
When my dreams had sadly awoken
Maybe I should of had it my way
Oh where was he to hear my prayer.

-----

Power of Nature

Come thunder lightening hail and rain
Let us all know that we are alive again
Mother of nature bring us thy worst
We stand ready and firmer deep within
So staunch within when thy clouds burst
For this anger thou hath need to release
Let the frost and snow bite cold fingers
Invigorating moments soon shall cease
When only a calm of temperment lingers
Until the very next cloud that shall burst
We know you shall feel the same therein
Nature shall not thrive without angers
But when she shall remain as calm again
It is soon she finds power to increase.

-----

Scots Wae Hae

Upon thee yon bonnie banks O' Doon
Aye rippled loch glows frae thee moon
That shone upon thee Scottish waters
Show'd purple braes of heather borne
Amidst reeds where swam wilde otters
A braw scots laird woo'd a fine lassie
Thee wind from thee north didnae blaw
And thee lilt frae his kilt aye hung classy
His lassie lang side sae comely and braw
'Twas wan o`thee ministers daughters
Plaide of thee stewart her gown adorne
Lang wedded plans shall ne-er bide awa
Frae thee yon bonnie banks O'the Doon
Where he first woo'ed his fine lassie.

-----

Scottish Weaver's Song

First it's thee warp and then thee weft
Weave to thee right and then thee left
Dinna be feart if thee plaid dont match
It'll only be worn by your faither
Thee lilt tae his kilt wont be a patch
For his spurren shall hide thee worst
Of awe O' them dangly' wee bits
That hae tae be weaved in first
'Twill be a braw wee kilt if it fits
Wi' just a wee dram O thee scotch
He's the pride of his clan nae bother
With nae drink hed be lost Of wits
But theres aye just a wee drap left
It is then he shall fare thee worst.

-----

Silken Passion

When the spell of love is upon me
Desired dreams are all I may see
Of a destined path within ecstasy
That this fortune hath so foretold
Silken robes were those of fantasy
Woven from fine threads of passion
Fortune shines from an eastern star
Predicting eternal love and elation
That shall speaketh true from afar
Some may think of this as a fallacy
But love was never meant to be cold
As warmth returns in love you are
For the spell of love is there to see
Woven from fine threads of passion.

-----

Sweet Surrender

A tear, a rose, a piano playing our song
When within your loving arms I belong
Sweet serenade`s that whispers divine
So sensual is our dance of perfect bliss
To drinketh from the cup of loves wine
That quenches thirst of desirous needs
With consequences we shall both relate
`Tis then the dance of love shall proceed
And it is then that we may both retaliate
Thy needs and mine shall we both combine
For it all once began with a hug and kiss
Time passed on but it was never too late
We knew within love could never be wrong
All we did was surrender to our needs.

-----

Two Bare Feet

Come summer when the meadows are so green
Fresh the blades of grass where dew has been
Warmth from the sun wakes within a season
It is soon we shall return to country walks
A caress of meadow grass is good reason
Treading softly upon it with two bare feet
That feels such a blessing how shall it be
Purely within nature that is so complete
Why wear shoes when we can feel so free
Complete if only there shall not be a liaison
Tongues shall forever wag but comfort talks
If they did the same they shall surely see
Come summer when the meadows are so green
They shall feel the same within two bare feet.

-----

Whilst Thou May

Within ye ancient tymes of merrie England
May all that prosper abide thee as grand
For thy future shalt ne-er be thee same
Tymes they may be changing of who belong
And whom shalt be cast aside within shame
Tho`it be thee first tyme laws be formed
Of a Kingdom that there never was afore
When thee British Isles was first borned
For all that they hath left shalt be no more
Scattered remnants of pride that remain
Knoweth not of rights`twixt right or wrong
Within law and order off a British shore
Spared troubled tymes of merrie England
Tho`it be thee first tyme laws be formed.

Concerto

When making love I hear sweet music play
A violin's lament from where we lay
A love song from the taut and teasing strings
That softly echoes a desiring sigh
Then grasp the air that our passion brings
The whispers of love vibrate in the ear
As hands touch the chorus of a love song
That wafted through the night to settle here
In tender moments of wanting so long
For love and music are magical things
When joined together in a bonded thong
That brings the senses to feel all that's near
In crescendos dance the passion's ballet
Two lovers breaking free to touch the sky

-----

Dreamtime

In dreamy visions I see you tonight
An astral torment yet brings me delight
I feel your lips as they linger on mine
As moonlight traverses the darkly sky
And stars ignite to pow'rs of love divine
So slumber leads us to our mystic place
Where dreams create their own sense of surreal
My thoughts are lost gazing into your face
And barriers of time must now reveal
The sweetness reserved in our honeyed wine
For senses that loves has released to feel
As you and I fall throughout time and space
Once again beside you I come to lie
Embraced by love with you I am just right.

-----

Love at Beltane

We stood beside the rippled water's edge
Where love divine has come to make a pledge
Beneath the moon in sacred silver light
A god and goddess united as one
As witch's drums echo into the night
And should I find my love, the Queen of May
Amid the rising beat of dancing feet
And should we tremble in loving's way
With rhythms of the Earth's tender heartbeat
I'll know the contented sigh of delight
Of feeling joy without my own conceit
While flying on the wings that from love fledge
For love sings loudest on the Beltane day
As lovers kiss beneath the springtide sun

-----

Love Over Time

Without my love the world appears so cold
A silent space with senses on withhold
Those moments when shivers touch not her lip
As if earth has lost all its loveliness
And drowsiness has me in its dark grip
The dreams of love are fading far too fast
Within the stillness of the rising dawn
If only wishful thoughts could be made to last
Instead my senses feel lost and forlorn
Until her words can tear that down a strip
And negative thoughts from my mind are torn
Replaced by love that I freely express
And days of loneliness lie in the past
As in her arms I feel our love unfold

-----

On the Wing

The time has come to leave this place behind,
To seek the love that touched my heart and mind
And left my soul with just one place to go
Across the ocean on another shore
She waits for me for love has made it so
The same sweet love that guides to journey's end
On the day we join in destiny's kiss
Until such time on the wing I must wend
Always searching for that much longed for tryst
For it is her love I have come to know
In the silent moments that I felt bliss
That fuels my yearning like never before
In love that is mine and one of a kind
And now across the skies my heart transcends.

-----

Sapphique Kiss

I look upon the moon, the very same
as you each night, and then I call your name
My lover neath the silver light; we dance
Or walk beside the gentle woodland stream
No matter what we do we talk romance
And in the moonlight when our fingers touch
Upon the others soft and trusting cheek
There are so many words that say too much
None that express the sweetest kiss Sapphique.
The poems are all a whimsical dream
Compared to the heat of our lover's flame
A poet's words merely hope to enhance
The beauty found within a loving touch
As we join together in love's mystique

Kindred Lives

I

Can this be love found in the depths of time
A gentle prelude in a poet's rhyme
Yet passion spoken in the ancient days
As mountains sprouted from beneath the earth
And shorelines felt the flow of ocean sways
The birth of love in a transcendent dream
The dawn of time breaking through solitude
And kindred souls joined the eternal scheme
Through lifetimes each the other's hearts pursued
In time and space their infinite love strays
And the knowledge of another intrudes
A distant bell tolling its searching chime
Spirits entwined from the original birth
Rejoined within the physical life-stream.

II.

Kindred spirits ensued by tolling sound
Eternally they journeyed timelessness
Lessons learned to gain inner harmony
Paying their dues in eternity's vast
They parallel traveled along the way
Unmistakable essence from lives past
Earthly gravity anchored feet to ground
Moistened eyes of pure devotion at last
Inseparable couplet that's e'er bound
Tethered to lifetimes though never astray
Their wisdom granted astute consciousness
Such this kind of love that ne'er goes away
Nothing's happenstance and now they can be
Two spirits converged, united and free.
