2013 Poetry Form Challenge

#05 Cornish Sonnet

At the same time as travelers were influencing the courts and introducing the sonnet form to England, France and Spain, traders in the southern ports of England were also bringing in their own forms of poetry. These forms consisted of hybrid poetry influenced by those Arab traders who plied their trade with the ports along the Mediterranean and the tin mines of Cornwall. It is only natural that they would come into contact with the sonnet form and in time come up with a fusion of that form This sonnet form is similar to the hybrid poetry that emerged from that part of the world.
The form consists of two, three couplets stanzas and a refrain made up of the first or last line of each stanza.
A. b. a. c. b. c.... D. e. d. f. e. f.... A. D.

Adagio

Sadness filters through me
Sitting listening and I feel
Somehow you are where I should be
Again I am not there with you
Yet everything about is real
Tell me please, what are we to do?
What is our final destiny?
Shall Fate alone be in control?
The music is an entity
But just like life it has a twist
Crescendo then a final roll
As we disappear in the mist
Sadness filters through me
What is our final destiny?

Ryter Roethicle

As an alternative, the last line of each stanza can be used and gives a rhyme pattern of
a. b. a. c. b. C.... d. e. d. f. e. F.... C. F.

Just A Little While

For just a little while I am there
And then too soon I must leave,
Sometimes with just a little tear,
But each time we meet we build
Upon what we wish to believe.
Each meeting removes some fear.
Each meeting builds upon our trust
In each other and lifts our love higher.
Each meeting tells us that we must
Give in and completely open up.
What is night but another chance of fire
Offering a cup from which lovers sup.
Each meeting removes some fear.
Offering a cup from which lovers sup

Ryter Roethicle

The most popular alternative is using the first line of the first stanza and the last line of the second stanza
A. b. a. c. b. c.... d. e. d. f. e. F.... A. F.

Come! Walk with me

Come! Walk with me in the moonlight
Together let us make more memories
Just you and I, this wondrous night.
Holding hands as we cross the beach
Listening to gentle surf made noises
That surpasses the power of speech.
Possessing many secrets hidden by time
Beaches share them only with the sea
Spoken by lovers in moments so sublime
As waves whisper back to them in the night
Saying "Your secret is safe with me,
You can speak of your love, it's alright.

Come! Walk with me in the moonlight

You can speak of your love, it's alright.

Ryter Roethicle

Although purists state all sonnets should be Iambic Pentameter, any meter or line length may be used, as long as all the lines are of similar length and meter.

Delight of Love

Bitter Sweet

Up and down at the water's edge we walked
The waves lapping so gently at bare feet
Sometimes in silence, but we often talked
About the past, how we'd gone sep'rate ways;
The love we shared had been so bitter sweet
Though there was hurt we'd enjoyed perfect days.
Just like we used to do in days gone by
When tears threatened to spill, to overflow,
We’d brush them off and say 'sand in my eye,’
But that was just us trying to be brave
To hide the sadness that we'd come to know,
And I will take that with me to my grave.
Though there was hurt we’d enjoyed perfect days,
And I will take that with me to my grave.

Dragon Barons

A dragon rears its head, breathing fire
And burning everything that's in its way,
People run for cover, seeking higher
Ground, it would seem they don't know where to go;
Chaos and crime, the order of the day,
Our nation's youth have met their fiercest foe.
They thought that doing drugs was just a phase
Their youngsters would outgrow as time went on,
Instead they see them trapped inside a maze
From which it would appear there's no escape;
Those children that they knew are long since gone,
Their psyches have been warped, bent out of shape.
Our nation's youth have met their fiercest foe,
Their psyches have been warped, bent out of shape.

Love 'Ain't' All They Need

Love is the answer, so the experts say,
Love is the key that opens any door,
And love is missing in this world today,
But sometimes love alone is not enough.
And problems that we face need something more,
Or else the going can become too rough.
They preach our youth have strayed through lack of love,
But maybe what they need is discipline,
And the certainty they are not above
The law; and that they will be made to pay
For their crimes; then they'll see this is a win
Or lose game, and they decide how to play.
Love is the answer so the experts say
They preach our youth have strayed through lack of love.

New Year Intrusions

As the New Year approaches I am filled
With memories, emotions, swirling round
My head and heart they refuse to be stilled
The year's happenings parade through my head
Engulfing me with feelings most profound,
With these instrusive thoughts, though I'm strong willed,
I'm powerless, they've set up house in me;
They break me down as quickly as they build
Me up… almost like riding a seesaw;
I pray they won't leave behind much debris,
Or open old wounds, leave them tender, raw.
As the New Year approaches I am filled
With these intrusive thoughts though I'm strong willed..

Bright Eyes

Bright eyes betray your innocence
Rays of sunlight flashing in the dark.
That smile, misery has no defence
Especially as it will return soon.
Satisfaction has truly left its mark
With a smile brighter than the moon.
And now, how soundly do you sleep
That smile speaking of your content
Happiness radiates no matter how deep
Emanating warmth to every soul
Who now know what lovers meant,
Knowing what its like to feel whole.
With a smile brighter than the moon.
Knowing what its like to feel whole.

-----

Chameleons of Death

Silent creatures, in stealth they sniff the wind,
Slumbers ended, emerging from their place.
Chameleons of death, searching for who has sinned
Moving, see how easy their colours change,
And others who tonight are caught without grace,
Shadows, feeding on souls, more than mortal death.
So soon tonight a victim comes into range
And all too soon this hapless victim will find
The race is on, and man knows the roll exchange
But running man is no match for slavering beast,
Fear is the scent, and blood tasted on the wind
And man provides creature with the feast.
Silent creatures, in stealth they sniff the wind,
And man provides creature with the feast.

Destined Love

I have known you from the first
Badly wounded, I was lying there
You gave me water for my thirst
Nursed me and finally lay with me
But always you showed me care
Sharing life throughout eternity.
Many lives we've shared you and I
Some good, some bad, that's fate
Sharing our love under many a sky
Lessons we have to learn I know
Have been easier with you my mate
And helping our spirit to grow.
Sharing life throughout eternity
And helping our spirit to grow.

-----

In the Mists of Time

Somewhere in the mists of time I met you
Sharing wine and bread together you and I
Now each life waiting for our rendezvous.
And now each life I wait until our rendezvous
Making memories that echo through eternity
Love planned by fate, getting stronger as it grew.
We'll break bread, and from the wineglass sup
Sharing life this way our songs will be happy
Life's shared wine, more tasty with each cup.
Singing songs, speaking of our love in rhyme
Confident of a love that is more than certainty
And know we'll meet again somewhere in time.
Somewhere in the mists of time I met you
And know we'll meet again somewhere in time.

Kith and Kin

Daughters and sons are delights offered to us
We love and play and encourage each one
They in time move on, it has always been thus.
Then they themselves have their own brood
And proud grandparents see what they began
Watching siblings carry out their little feud.
Each one looks like they are the same line
Having the name and almost look the same
Inside the workings can be a different design.
Outside lively but inside just a torment
Whilst others treat life as if it were a game
And the happy ones who are always content.
Heh Daughters and sons are delights offered to us
Each one looks like they are the same line.

-----

Losers Are Born

Some see open doors, others see them close
Some people have a life that's always hard
A winner will win what ere path is chose
Losers are born, always destined to lose
Always wondering what is fates next card
And having to put up with antisocial abuse.
From life's rich reward some have been barred
No love in their life, there is never a pause.
The lucky have a life, not too easy or too hard
But work and appreciate whatever life gives.
They can live their life, and open some doors
And their misdeeds Fate sometimes forgives.
Some see open doors, others see them close
From life's rich reward some have been barred.

My Solitary Dreams

I see you lit by my lamp at twilight
Looking at your form in the dusk.
The light from your soul is bright
Reflecting out from sparkling eyes.
Your subtle scent is that of musk
As softly a night creature cries.
My solitary dreams are of thee.
Thy lips in dreams sweeter than wine
In shadows outlined deep I see
The bitter taste of your absence
Make affirmations you are mine
Louder by the present silence.
I see you lit by my lamp at twilight
My solitary dreams are of thee.

Noon Til Three

Some see open doors, others see them close
Some people have a life that's always hard
A winner will win what ere path is chose
Losers are born, always destined to lose
Always wondering what is fates next card
And having to put up with antisocial abuse.
From life's rich reward some have been barred
No love in their life, there is never a pause.
The lucky have a life, not too easy or too hard
But work and appreciate whatever life gives.
They can live their life, and open some doors
And their misdeeds Fate sometimes forgives.
Some see open doors, others see them close
From life's rich reward some have been barred.

Piper at the Gates

1.

From the dawn of time he's played his part
Often telling a tale of war, but more of love
His music reached every mind and heart
Oft times ignoring Fates challenging chart
More times about how two lovers strove
To stay as one though many miles apart.
Did today exist when fate made her plan
Or care about how they played their roll,
Laying down the future for lady and man
Did she just cast them wild, hoping to start
Something without understanding the toll.
From the dawn of time he's played his part
Did today exist when fate made her plan.

2.

As they listen to him at break of dawn
The world is still, the day is new, alive
Feelings of hope revived greets the morn.
The same conductor, the same baton
As creatures from dreamy sleep contrive
They hear the pipes, and then are gone.
As he plays, all creatures to him are drawn
And all like creatures listen and survive
An amnesty exists twixt the lion and the fawn.
There heavens music is daily reborn
Where even the hardest heart believes
As they listen to him at break of dawn.
They hear the pipes, and then are gone.
As they listen to him at break of dawn.

3.

See the Angels gather to hear him play
Each place, each hour a brand new morn
Each new sunrise, each new break of day
The piper moves west each hour always.
He is there for all, with each new dawn.
See every Angel, to his own God pray.
The Angels meet each morn this way,
In each new place, seeing each new dawn
As the Angels gather to hear him play.
There is no rest for him, he cannot stay
To where angels wait and thus adorn
There as the sun rises to greet the day
See the Angels gather to hear him play
There as the sun rises to greet the day.

Question Answered

You ask me why you are my muse
Why should you not, 'tis easy to see
Do my words of love need an excuse?
How can I explain the way I feel,
Tell of feelings except with poetry
And how you make my senses reel.
The words are simple, and all are true
It needs no hype, it's plain to me,
I speak the truth of my love for you.
So do not doubt what you read here
Instead have some joy, some revelry
And realise with me you need not fear.
You ask me why you are my muse,
The words are simple, and all are true.

-----

Understanding

Those moments together that we spend each day
Are they for real, sincere, or a waste of time,
Should I be looking for love a different way?
X marks each kiss we give, announced with love,
Leaving the most important until the final line
Reinforcing all that has been said above.
All love and trust like gods are built on belief
So to love and trust, you must truly believe,
Otherwise doubt comes along like any thief
Stealing all hope for any future life together.
Then at least one lover is left alone to grieve
When with a little faith could've lasted forever.
Those moments together that we spend each day
When with a little faith could've lasted forever.

-----

X The Unknowing

How many dreams has there to be
Until we finally hear of one death?
A dream has died, tis hardly a spree,
Why give up dreaming because of one?
One might as well give up each breath
Why give up, the adventure has begun?
When it starts, the journey that is life
We learn of love at our mother's breasts
Hopefully with that love there is no strife.
Sometimes love fails and we are hurt
But this is only another of life's tests
For nothing in life is ever a cert.
Why give up, the adventure has begun?
For nothing in life is ever a cert.

-----

Your Dreams Again

In dreams again, you kiss my lips
Knowing you can no longer feel me
Nor feel the touch of my fingertips
As I can no longer feel your heat.
But you remember what used to be,
How strong your heart used to beat.
For just a while we must be apart.
Missing those morning kisses,
Yet somehow I can feel your heart.
Is it somehow now part of mine,
That my soul tells me what it misses,
Needing to merge once more with mine?
In dreams again, you kiss my lips
Needing to merge once more with mine.

-----

Zero Change

I always find this time of year
To be the most trying time of all.
Spring has left us without any fear
Summers heat now drives all forms of life.
Wherein all creation desires rain to fall
Without it there is naught but strife.
When autumn comes there's no relief
April showers are nought but a dream
Whilst winter robs the heat like a thief.
Global warming makes it all the same
With nature testing all to the extreme
And we're still left needing more rain.
Without it there is naught but strife
And we're still left needing more rain.

Knitting Hermit - Karl Spitzweg

Zero For Gillard

What will the New Year bring this time
A record in road deaths for this small state
Or an increase in violence and juvenile crime?
Knifings and bashings caused by bored youth
One wonders about what really does await
How long will government ignore the truth.
The new Prime Minister will affect us all
Sparky, bean counter, old fashioned work hard
And others who can't afford any further to fall.
Houses being devalued there's so much to fear
Lets hope there's a saviour not named Gillard
That through him we'll have a better New Year.
What will the New Year bring this time
The new Prime Minister will affect us all.

Bard From Montrose

A Bard from Montrose had plucked a rose
He bestowed to the Kings comely daughter
For so composed were his words of prose
Spoken from the depth of his loving heart
'Twas like leading a lamb to the slaughter
No thorns upon earth shall make them part
For she was his Princess he vowed to wed
Such was the power of his determination
He had pledged to offer his loyalty abed
And he would never be a one to plunder
Upon his life, his love, his joy and elation
'Twas he that filled her heart with wonder
A Bard from Montrose had plucked a rose
'Twas he that filled her heart with wonder.

Beast Of Bodmin Moor

Upon the bleakness of Bodmin Moor
A wind howled as the mist gathered
Visability of the fated night was poor
Except for the shadow of the beast
They say the devil himself fathered
For he was viscious to say the least
Only a madman would walk this way
They for sure would be eaten alive
Strangers upon the moor were prey
Some say that he was only a ghost
That stalked at the end of the day
Who then would risk being his host
For he was viscious to say the least
Would you then risk being his host?

-----

Beauty Amidst Nature

Fresh as the dew upon an apple leaf
Sweet the blossom that shall purify
Essence within youth shall bequeath
As they gather the sweetest bloom
The purest remedy shall but satisfy
That shall brighten the skin of gloom
Properties of nature has proven how
To blend a balance of a morning dew
From apple blossoms upon the bough
The bloom of youth that is ever fair
Forms a tiny little seedling that grew
With help from mother natures care
That shall brighten the skin of gloom
With help from mother natures care.

Apple Blossom - John Everett Millais

Book Of Spells

Charmed by the magic her book never fails
A mystic moment that nurture`s the mind
To entrance her dream within faerie tales
Such a vision she sees within every page
Images take over ancient spells to unwind
Which had mellowed thro` time with age
Yet this old book was to be her treasure
Brought from the past to the present day
That still shall lend a child much pleasure
For interests in faeries shall never be lost
The traits of childhood shall forever stay
Remaining within memories embossed
Charmed by fantasy her book never fails
Remaining within memories embossed.

-----

Eastern Child

Child from the east of a wandering star
Enclosed within the universe embrace.
That angels wings had flown from afar
Through the galaxies of space so vast
Where shooting stars gracefully trace
Pathways of moonbows may forever cast
A gateway that leads to mother of earth
Where the great winds of time shall blow
It shall be within the place of their birth
Soon upon the great eastern hemisphere
Where lanterns of the orient softly glow
An angel from the east shall ever be near
Pathways of moonbows may forever cast
An angel from the east shall ever be near.

-----

Forever Love

I saw you standing in the mists of time
A shadow of strength within your eyes
Thou that awakened sweet love divine
'Twas then that I felt the sun on my face
When words of love echoed in the skies
For the tender touch of a warm embrace
Of sensual passion as it was once before
Until the ending of time had been spoken
Again to return thro' the pathway of lore
Thro' a vast universe unto another clime
Love from the past shall remain unbroken
Shall both be as one until the end of time
For the tender touch of a warm embrace
Shall both be as one until the end of time.

Lover of Body and Spirit - Danti Gabriel Rossetti

-----

Maid of Sorrow

Pale and wan she still walks the hills
A ghostly figure from a bygone age
On Bodwin Moors that bitterly chills
The heart and soul of a fallen maid
Wild the wind that howls with rage
On a tomb where the maid had laid
Her only crime was to love as such
For her heart ruled her maideness
That had taken only a loving touch
Cruel the fate of a maiden so pure
That she did suffer much distress
A maiden who was once so demure
Pale and wan she still walks the hills
A maiden who was once so demure.

-----

Pagliacci

How does a clown really feel deep inside
When he appears to be happy and funny
For his audience expects him to provide
Whether happy he shall be or maybe sad
Like the weather he has to appear sunny
The best performance his show ever had
The art of an actor shall hide all his pain
Tho' heartache and sorrow dwells therein
There shall be naught he shall give to gain
However he shall feel the show must go on
Casting off shadows that underlay within
Though smiles upon a clown maybe put upon
The best performance his show ever had
Though smiles upon a clown maybe put upon.

-----

The Philosophers Hand

The sacred signs of a philosophers hand
Shall not be released unless strictly on oath
For it is only he that shall e-er understand
Secrets of signs his hand and fingers hold
Within knowledge and power he has both
Each finger hold the secret sign to be told
Loyal he served in the arts of alchemia
And understood the hidden secrets well
Who worships signs from an academia
That only he within a secrecy shall know
What no other philosopher dare foretell
Each finger set upon his palm shall show
The sacred signs of a philosophers hand
Each finger set upon his palm shall show.

Prince Amidst Frogs

Come kiss me fair maid I am a frog
For we are both here for a reason
It is stated within the nursery log
This is the day I turn into a prince
I know it is correct for the season
But I have never seen anyone since
That is not until you had come along
I thought it was only fair you knew
It is with me that you shall belong
Shall it be you my chosen princess
Even if you were only one of a few
For all I need is two lips to impress.
Come kiss me fair maid I am a frog
For all I need is two lips to impress.

-----

The Seeing Eye

What may see all shall speak of not
Within secrecy of the seeing eye
Powers of will shall not show a lot
But kept within a vision of images
For what he sees shall prove no lie.
Remains lost throughout the ages
Upon the eye of a sacred beholder
Secrets of power he has never told
Remains intact but vision grows weak
Where secrets within remain as ever
Until what he saw shall cease as old
Shall not seek the light of day never
What may see all shall speak of not
Upon the eye of a sacred beholder.

-----

Spirit of an Eagle

Within spirit of an eagle here I shall fly
Up high upon the snow peaked mountains
Where dreams may come true there go I
It shall be here I may find perfect peace
Within the magic of clear crystal fountains
But the love that I have shall never cease
Far from the place that I cared for much
It shall be soon that I find an eternal star
For it is then I shall be close within touch
On the span of an eagles wing I shall be
I shall look down upon earth from afar
As I soar high to eternity with he and me
But the love that I have shall never cease
As I soar high to eternity with he and me.

-----

Two Steps Forward

I had walked this land of hill and dales
Within search of the old ways of life
To observe so eagerly of lifes details
Tho' times changed what the past had
Memories may only add toward strife
The fact it was now no more but sad
Not a thing could make time turn back
But a village preserved still shall charm
Trusted memories shant fade nor lack
All within structures were built to last
The wildest weather shall do no harm
Two steps forward and back to the past
I had walked this land of hill and dales
Two steps forward and back to the past.

-----

Unicorn Fantasia

There shall be a calm in the realm of space
For unicorns to roam within a fable of lore
Through the milky way unto a mystic place
Where angels wings had never dared to go
Unto a galaxy that no one heard of before
Within shooting stars their way maybe slow
A brightness that invades the darkest sky
When not a thing of the like represented
They would ever be allowed to soar so high
It shall be time when they shall all be free
Glares from the sun may then be prevented
Black voids of darkness they shall not see
There shall be a calm in the realms of space
Black voids of darkness they shall not see.

Broken Promise

You broke my heart, left me alone to die,
Each time you promised me never again,
I trusted you but words were all a lie
So many promises you failed to keep
Instead of love I knew only the pain
The pain of fear as your fists made me weep
And then I made up my mind to leave you
I closed the door and left you in the past
And through the courts I battled for my due
My faith in love I'll not let you destroy
Without trusting so easy or so fast
I've learned I am more than your punching toy
You broke my heart, left me alone to die,
And then I made up my mind to leave you.

Chains of Goodbye

Between you both I flicker, your eyes gaze,
Music plays softly, though only I hear
I dance amongst your love's enchanted haze
With gentle whispers, you say "I love you"
Your hands clasp, bringing you both ever near
Such beauty has graced my table for two
Your anniversary of wedded bliss
The fizz, as champagne pours in crystal flutes
An aroma of passion as lips kiss,
Your love for each other, so true I see
My flame smiles warmth, as you both I salute
This delight of love you have shared with me
Such beauty has graced my table for two
This delight of love you have shared with me.

-----

Coryphee

You shone upon the stage in white limelight,
The honeyed voice that swept me off my feet
And led me deeper to the will of might
The icy cold facade I knew as love
I watched elegant moves from a cheap seat
As worshipping a goddess from above.
I promised there and then to honour you
I cheered your name loud at the curtain call
I kept the secret that no one else knew
I waited each night for you to emerge
Into glory that commanded my all
To the love where senses and dreams converge.
You shone upon the stage in white limelight
I promised there and then to honour you.

De-bugged

Unravelled cocoons form a single thread
To spin and weave into bolts of vibrant silk
Awash with shades of blue, yellow and red
So many patterns and printed design
All crafted with care of the sendal ilk
The items of clothing true self define
At last moving away from years of hurt
With snappy waistcoats and matching cravats
A boldness of colour on a plain shirt
Revealing old style romance in a gent
So farewell high-heels and flowery hats
For this is the way of my nature’s intent
The items of clothing true self define
At last moving away from years of hurt.

-----

The Flat Cap

I never saw grandad without his cap
Even if he was just pottering about
In checkered tweed he appeared quite the chap
But I think he was hiding his bald patch
I never heard my grandad yell or shout
Not even for England in a test match
In fact he never said anything much
On the phone it was just a yes or no
But I felt his heart without doubt or such
One thing that never needed speaking of
I feel it now as the memories flow
As always I can feel his tender love
I never saw grandad without his cap
As always I can feel his tender love.

-----

A Fountain Pen

It's time to give my pen the leading role
Too long the silent words have been ignored
In youthful dreams I left behind my soul
For living life against the truth of self
And nothing seemed to strike a joyful chord
My mind an empty book upon a shelf
Back then I thought I'd let the chance slip by
So surely now it must be far too late
My dreams could be nothing more than a sigh
I wanted more than a verse now and then
But writing wasn't meant to be my fate
Until I chanced upon a fountain pen
My mind an empty book upon a shelf
Until I chanced upon a fountain pen.

-----

Good-bye

How can you say the words that speak of love
Then tear my heart to shreds with just a glance?
I feel like you can't wait to be rid of
Me, cast me aside like an old, broken toy
No longer breathing the sighs of romance
All hope was lost along with that sweet joy
My countless tears replaced your gentle kiss
As gaily coloured roses lost their hue
And dreams surrendered to heartbreak's abyss
The pain won't fade to that I can attest
And now there is but one thing left to do
As I say good-bye and wish you all the best
All hope was lost along with that sweet joy
My countless tears replaced your gentle kiss.

-----

Lame Excuses

How does our love feel when it's brushed away,
Ignored by lame excuses left unsaid,
Emotions drift unguarded where doubts lay
In wait; and like the stalking cat they pounce
To tear the heart apart as ripping thread,
The mind awaits the other to announce
A different opinion that must mean
We two must walk alone like once before
The future's dreams are now what might have been
Just cast offs left behind a lover's fling
If only we'd said 'I love you' once more
Before it's too late for the heart to sing.
How does our love feel when it's brushed away,
Before it's too late for the heart to sing.

My Leather Jacket

I first saw it upon a market rail
A sheen of black entranced upon my eye
The flirting price tag, whispered 'I'm for sale'
My fingers trailed across a shiny stud
To caress skin as I felt my lips sigh
A biker's lust arose within my blood.
An engine roared with nature's thunder strike
To speed as one toward the midnight hour
I saw my jacket embraced with my bike
Upon the journey to freedom's highway
The glory of comrades united in pow'r
And I handed over the notes to pay.
A biker's lust arose within my blood.
An engine roared with nature's thunder strike.

No Time

Everyone is working through their own crap
And spares not time for a world in pain
This modern living is just a rat trap
The price of breathing is freedom of thought
The wealth of beauty lost to our own gain
And happiness is that which can be bought
How can we hope to meet heavenly eyes
Or dance in the love of the moonlit nights
If we do not take time to hear her cries
To rejoice the wonder of the springs rebirth
Instead of grasping towards neon lights
There is no time to hear the voice of Earth
Everyone is working through their own crap
There is no time to hear the voice of Earth.

A Sleepless Night

My cat has chosen her bed for the night,
And in my ears resounds her sleeping purr,
As I reach out to click the bedside light,
I feel her paw begin to stretch and squeeze
Beneath my head; to cat my hair is fur,
For me this sleeping thing is not a breeze.
My cat she moves about to find her spot,
Throughout the night until she finds the place,
That perfect place; whilst sleeping: I am not.
From by my head to feet and back again,
She moves around, she's stalking dreams with grace,
My cat in bed is driving me insane.
For me this sleeping thing is not a breeze
My cat in bed is driving me insane.

The Yo Yo

My heart is rolling on a piece of string,
First in then out and back as love commands,
And giddy senses can’t feel anything
This rollercoaster ride of ups and downs
The highs and lows all in another’s hands
Antiquated romancers naught but clowns.
But when the string snaps my heart will be lost
Unable to stop ’til it breaks on ground
The point of no return finally crossed
And soothing words will fall on silent tears
A heart without love remains to be found
Emotional walls built with the new fears.
My heart is rolling on a piece of string,
But when the string breaks my heart will be lost.

Delight of Love
