This is virtualy a Sicilian sestet with a couplet, but it is an even more popular form than the Sicilian Octave for long poetry not just sonnets. there is no set meter, but using iambic pentameter the suggested pattern is:

x X x X x X x X x b
x X x X x X x X x a
x X x X x X x X x b

Fall in York Beach

The cold, sombre, purple skies of fall
Are memories precious to all now.
The screaming of children playing ball
Replaced by gulls foraging for chow,
In white capped surf that covers all
And crashing waves that dig and plough.
No crusted bread torn and fed by hand
Or peanut-butter sanis mixed with sand.

Abracadabra

She always made me laugh when I was sad,
She'd sing a funny song and hold me tight,
She never made fun of my woes, but had
A way of making everything all right.
I understand the reason why my Dad
Always loved her so much, she was his light.
It's still the same after so many years,
She knows exactly how to still my fears.

-----

Bound

We fall in love and dream of glorious things,
For being in love makes us feel so good;
But it's not every time that our heart sings
We find ourselves in places where we should
Be; and each choice we make comes with its strings;
At least that much is known and understood.
We select cords to cut, others to tie,
Choose when to say 'hello' or wave 'goodbye'.

-----

Dance 'til Dawn

We really did dance all that night,
Up until the dawn was breaking;
And it had been a wondrous sight
To watch the sun gently making
Its presence seen, shedding its light,
And to watch the world awaking.
Memories like this one will stay
In my heart 'til my dying day.

-----

In the Dark

There's a blackout for miles around tonight,
A transformer I think it was that blew,
So I'm scribbling po'try by candlelight,
It seems to be the natural thing to do;
But since oftimes I can't read what I write,
I pray that this time that will not be true.
If I can read them remains to be seen,
If not they go straight into File Thirteen!

-----

Laughter II

Laughter is born within your eyes
from seed once sown by lover's hand;
its birth is painless, without lies,
yet tears might flow from inner glands.
Freely given, it multiplies,
yet can't be summoned on command.
While belly-laughter shakes out pain,
a little smile wipes off old strain.

-----

Live and Learn

May I never lose the gift of laughter,
Even when times are rough let me still smile;
Although there is no 'forever after,'
Let me be grateful for 'a little while.'
And as I approach the closing chapter
Of my life, let it be with grace and style.
I've had my fill of happiness and tears
Let humour reign through the remaining years.

-----

Live, Laugh, Love

The deck of cards handed by fate
Can be for games that we don’t know,
But then it is never too late
To take a chance, to learn and grow;
An opportunity too great
For us to ignore or to blow.
Though mere pilgrims passing this way,
It's worth our while to learn to play.

-----

Multitasking

I'm being pulled every which way
, A hand, two legs, a listening ear,
'Give us a break,' they seem to say,
There is only one 'you' we fear,
With not enough time in each day,
And when it's your turn who will care?'
My heart is big enough I know
But no more arms or legs will grow.

An octopus would work out well,
A multi-headed hydra too,
A centipede, that would be swell,
A kind of mini mobile zoo;
A special kind of clock to tell
The things that I have yet to do.
I can do no more than my best
And God will take care of the rest.

-----

Priceless

A steaming cup of Milo in the morn,
My mother's lovely, ageless, smiling face,
Two little puppies not long ago born,
Forever on the go; I watch them race
Around; and although they have chewed up, torn
So many things, they've claimed their rightful place.
These simple pleasures I enjoy each day,
I have been blessed what more is there to say?

Surrounded by people I know and love,
Who have been at my side through thick and thin,
Family, friendships that fit like a glove,
They know me from without and from within;
Ready to deter or give me a shove
As they see fit, that's how it's always been.
My life has been enriched because of them,
Each one in his own way a precious gem.

-----

Republic Day

Today we celebrate Republic Day,
Our final severing from foreign rule,
Our citizens now had the final say
With this the latest political tool.
We had now jumped fully into the fray,
With piranhas and goldfish in one pool.
What happened to the dreams we held so dear,
Most have vanished like smoke into thin air.

-----

Soggy Prayer

A wet and gloomy day, it's pouring rain
Two loved ones gone to take medical tests;
The weather a reflection of the train
Of my thoughts. I've made so many requests
Of Him; I hope that He'll listen again,
For I must be one of His greatest pests.
If You can hear me Lord I pray today
Please let the ones that I love be okay.

-----

Unbound

Not easy to undo knots though they're slack,
To accept change although it's for the best,
No piece of cake to walk off, turn our back
On things once shared, though we know we must; lest
We suffer more: but humans have the knack
Of picking up the pieces though we're stressed.
The ties I have are all the ones I need
And now when warning bells ring I pay heed.

> Dances in The Wind

Listening to the wind blowing
Through the trees, buildings and fields,
A hollow sound resonating
Thoughts of you and I, are revealed
Dancing to natures orchestra,
In dreams of dusky lights we yield
This dance in the winds for all time,
In harps mantra heard so sublime.

-----

Last Summer Days

Cool crisp mornings are the days now
As summer fast becomes mem'ry,
But memories are all we know
Like the glass where ourselves we see,
And that's no mystery of old
Just the truth staring back at thee,
Somehow becoming the best way
In spite of all we do or say.

-----

She is He

She is He that rises on the East side
Solar tides that blow ne'er to touch below
So low we cannot see mysterious guides,
The wide ocean of light waves or moon glow
That show the way 'pon darkened nights ride
To ride Arod till day break arrives slow,
She shows no god her mercy at dawns rise
Goddess of sun and moon to whom all relies.sublime!

Controlled

Be not concerned I have gone up to the hills
There is no problem, I am feeling very well.
I have a desire of nature, not a feeling of ills
I'm controlled by Nature, I'm under her spell.
Because of her my mind is open to her thrills
And I'm besotted by the diversity of her smell.
She is the mother of life I should be free
Because she is my Mother, she advises me.

-----

Evening Thoughts

As twilight begins to dim the evening sky
You hear the birds giving their final calls
In between the trees echoing daytime's sigh
Seeing shadows lengthen as suns light falls
Finally the sun sets and we see the day die
It is then daytime scene becomes black walls
All references change to become those of night
And tactile senses replace those of sight.

-----

I Conjour You

I conjure you far more beautiful than night
Dancing in the flashing residue of dreams.
Once again taking me to pleasures height
Like the trembling rush of summer streams.
Beauty lasting through dawn into days light
Realising finally what true beauty means
Springing not from desire, that's wild in kind,
But a gentle content growing in my mind.

I conjure you far more beautiful than day
The suns light flashing from your lovely eyes
Each time I look my heart plays a ballet.
Another look and I realise what is my prize,
If I compare you to a rose, I have a bouquet,
One above the means of what a rich man buys.
Alongside my heart I offer you my soul
Cognisant that it will make us both whole.

-----

Key of Love

Thy flowing juices of which I sup so avidly
From that sacred spot used for our pleasure
For in that flow sourced I may add my key
This night a mine of passioned endeavour
For in that keyhole I will work so wantonly
Nor leave thee whilst thou art wanting more
So in a given time from thee as heaven pours
I will add my simple gift of love to yours.

Nature Ascending

Knowing that soon its time will come,
Each plant lives and dies, and sows
The next generation it then becomes
Its own nourishment and so it grows.
Verdant bush abounds and hums
When woken up from winters doze
Each spring we see new life emerge
Seeing smelling, witness to the surge'

Sight and other senses become a feast
Nature's balance keeps species alive
The same happens with all the beasts
Mutating in order that all survive
Whether it be hunter or it be priest
Each creature will guiltless connive
To ensure its species will endure
That's Natures way you may be sure.

All life and more is in Natures plan
This is the challenge Nature puts on life
The least of which should humble man.
It grows and forms and adapt to strife
Because of the sun and rain see life begin
See new life emerging until it is rife.
Even the worst conditions life will show
See after desert rains how life will grow.

Each plant mutates and has adapted so
Every year with the start of Natures round
It lies dormant in sand, it sleeps in snow
Whilst looking about a new shoot is found
Then suddenly you see the new life glow
For with every chance life will resound.
The Earth flourishes with life of every sort
Mostly bound tight together for support.

-----

Nature Rules

The waves break on the shore a reminder.
That in time we come and later we go,
The sea will shape the earth and find her
Compliant to the way she has to grow
And the constancy of the sea is kinder
Because the sea has a more certain flow.
But still man denies this in his conceit
Nature knows and shows he can be beat.

There's a streak of light across the night sky
Just for a short while the sky is bright.
What we're seeing is part of a planet die
And in doing so has lit up our night
How many look up and say "Goodbye"?
How many wonder if it's death was right?
Yet man still ignores this in his conceit
Ignoring Nature, thinking he has her beat.

-----

Need

The thing I long for is to be touched by you
And in return I will kiss you a thousand times
A poor exchange for such a wondrous view
And anything less would simply be a crime.
Without that touch I will be forever blue
But with it everything becomes sublime.
My needs are simple a kiss, a touch, whenever
And in return I promise to love you forever.

-----

New Moon

Someone left a clipped fingernail hanging
On a velvet sky, pretending to be a moon.
Wrinkled trees stand there branches moaning
Feet buried in dirt hoping rain will come soon.
Old cotton dressed like fog slows down driving
Except for the red, hot car driven by the hoon
Rich man and poor man slowly creep forward
And for that, a day of toil is their only reward.

Unseen is the shimmering fog bank of the bay
But above that morning mist there is still sky
Through them still seeing stars shimmer and sway
Like diamonds across rich breasts catching the eye
And once seen, unable to drag the eyes ever away
Till honking horns and flashing bring back reality
The north wind stirs up and burns away the cotton
All too soon, reality takes over, fantasies forgotten.

-----

Somewhere in Time

Somewhere in time two lovers kissed
And time stood still just for a while
Creating a mood of supreme bliss
Fate looked down and began to smile.
Realising love is not easily dismissed
True love exists without being too facile.
Showing she's not heartless or cruel
Seeing what they had was a jewel.

Somewhere in time the lovers wished
Separate upon the fullness of the moon
They wished that they could be united
And even more, that it would be soon.
Fate listened, granting what they desired,
The Moon and Stars smiled at this boon.
She has kept that vow throughout time
All the Gods said that this was fine.

Somewhere in time two lovers walked
Along the path that Fate had ordained.
With stardust they have been soaked
And with heavenly wishes were stained.
As they walked they kissed and talked
Through eternity their love remained.
Together now they share the same soul
And only together can they be whole.

-----

Surrender to Me

Surrender to me it has become the day
I bid thee seek not dreams this time, merely stand
I shall take thee with me and show thee the way
Perhaps from time to time I may take your hand
Meaning it two fold, that also asks "Please stay"
These are not words I speak light, they are real
Serving in some minor way, telling how I feel.

Surrender to me it has become the night
Is not night the time for lovers and dreams?
Together we will love and plan till morning light
My reward is your smile and loving eyes gleams.
And when the moon and stars then take to flight
We close our eyes for a while forgetting schemes.
While bodies rest our souls will soar into the sky
And make their plans for the rest of Eternity.

-----

Toybox at First

There was a time when my Toybox was all
In there was Kanga, Wambi, and Dingo, my mates,
And above us was Owli, the clock on the wall.
Together we would get into some terrible straits
But in the deepest of danger we'd hear Owli's call
Together we'd escape from our dangerous states.
When I was young I used to talk to Owli all night
He'd sit and listen and help me make things right.

-----

X-Factor

Would that I knew what to do but I don't.
The present moves and becomes the past
And we achieve naught by saying I won't.
The eternal pendulum of life swings fast
Later on despite odds we find we maun't
Be feared despite how the dice are cast.
Never worry its much better to have tried
Than to always wonder until you died.

And Love Begins

He stood alone upon the busy platform there
Waiting so patiently for his loved one to arrive
No one there to confide his thoughts or share
Of how happy he was and pleased to be alive
On this busy platform nobody seemed to care
Too wrapped up in their own world to contrive
Sad are the strangers that shall not commune
Happiness the blessing that remains immune.

He stood not alone upon a wide open space
No one was there they had all said goodbye
With his loving arms open for a big embrace
She was late his intentions were not to deny
But to melt her heart with a smile on his face
To embrace together with love in their eyes
Love had flourished upon the platform there
Not quite alone for memories they shall share.

-----

Back to the Future

If ever two were one like me and thee
Sweet dreams we share of love divine
Forever treasured within lifes memory
We think so alike that feelings combine
Of passion and deepest love tenderly
It is there within that mirrors the sign
Of eyes that reveal such deep emotion
Softly they whisper of a true devotion.

It may be that we have loved before
And have been given another chance
From another time where spirits soar
For to return again can only enhance
What we had then to be granted more
For spiritual lovers shall ever entrance
Deep in the mists of an endless clime
Back to the future within another time.

-----

Fantasy of Love

I had felt the magic when you touch my hand
Of love that flowed harmoniously therein
A love that was fated yet was never planned
'Twas all we could do but to let love begin
I felt we had entered the promised land
A perfumed garden that we both lay within
What fruits of fantasies love shall weave
Was this how it started with Adam and Eve.

-----

Fruits of Fantasy

Living a fantasy that may not be quite true
Of various pleasures that lovers may need
Can be sometimes so very heart felt to do
When conventional ways are going to seed
They cannot revert from the old to the new
Are males and females so different a breed?
Why cant they sometimes face up to the fact
Fantasy of love may be just what they lacked.

-----

Forbidden Love

A heart that beats of love from thee to me
Avoiding dark through visions of insight
That bade sad tears devoured by the sea
To arouse once more from dismal to light
Thus lovers spirits once more to be free.
Floating towards heavens passion of night
Of carefree minds that shalt surely know
Sweet pleasure of desires that overly flow.

Within thine eyes thou spake of love divine
That showeth much of pleasures therein
But I knoweth well the pleasures were mine
Of spiritual passion that hath flowed within
Everlasting lovers both hearts that entwine
Thro` emotions of a love that had to begin
Forbid them nought they shall not change
For emotions of love shall not feel strange.

-----

Grand National

Thundrous start the course of horse and hoof
Which rider is the one takes the first prize
While the owner of this stallion stands aloof
To win means his fortune shall double in size
It is only his account that collects the proof
Not fatigue and pain within his stallions eyes
Threatened by the sting of the jockeys whip
Or the harshness that escapes the riders lip.

He proudly holds his trophy high like a jewel
While the real winner is paraded for show
Why cant they see this discomfort is cruel
For man is the worst of offenders we know
When the beautiful stallion runs out of fuel
'Tis the kindest decision that he has to go
Back to the fields where the grass is green
To frolic within freedom and remain serene.

-----

New Awakening

I hath slept the sleep of a thousand years
Opened wide my eyes upon a sunlit day
Upon a stranger world yet I bore no fear
This land before me from a distance away
The beauty within didst touch me so dear
For the winds of change stay calm this day
To return from dreams so real yet strange
Lost in a trance which was so out of range.

A perfumed Garden sweet blossom array
The heavenly scent had tempteth me near
To kneel with angels for e`er I shalt pray;
Unto this paradise there shalt be no fear
I lived all the storms that passed my way
Of the heavenly shrouds that shed a tear
Blind in my thoughts my eyes could not see
Awakened years later to a newly borne me.

-----

Prophesy

Clear yet deep within my memories eye
I percieve when this planet had first spun
For I watched thro' the mists from the sky
The various countries placed one by one
Of lands and seas and of mountains high
'Neath heavenly stars the moon and a sun
How beautiful this planet was going to be
There was nothing like it within the galaxy.

Wild the beasts had taken over this land
Of various breeds within land and the sea
Dinosaurs and Mammoths were planned
To roam this new wilderness wild and free
Centuries before this planet was manned
From a masterful dreamland of a fantasy
Within oceans of blue and forests green
The creator envisioned this perfect scene.

Then along came man in of perfected glory
Who had changed the great planet of earth
Moulding the tale of yesterday unto history
Within centuries later predecessors unearth
To reveal relics of the past of their mystery
For their future reference remained dearth
Mans destruction to this perfect new land
Shall destroy all by the slight of his hand.

Down came a storm within torrents of floods
That changed the sea and landscapes anew
An ark was constructed to save their brood
For the animals to escape two by two
Of healthiest dams with the strongest studs
I had known in my heart this fantasy was true
For I had seen the future thro`my minds eye
As I watched thro` the mists from the sky.

-----

Pure Fantasy

Hath trod the winding paths of sussex downs
That led to historic castles crumbling away
My mind focused upon a green velvet gown
Draped upon an unrest ghost of yesterday
She appeared it seemed a lady of renown
Until I found my thoughts had loads to say
What fantasy can we paint within our mind
Apart from graven images of spiritual kind.

Hath waded amidst the seas gentle waves
I could swear I did hear mermaidens sing
Their echoes rebound within Merlins cave
Where he treasures medalions and rings
For the lord of ringlets bade him to save
As he rode his unicorn on golden wings
When a ringlet fell from Medusa`s hair
She turned him to stone it was only fair.

Hath walked the tunnel arrived in France
Not what I thought I was going to like
Missed the train and took a big chance
Next time I go shall arrive on my bike
Maybe this time I shall find my romance
Before they muttered go take a hike.
I should complain to General de Gaulle
If I decide to go back there at all.

-----

Shiver me Timbers

Somewhere in the ocean there must surely be
Treasures untold beneath the deep sea bed
Within sunken Galleons from past history
That lay shipwrecked alone it has to be said
Lost was the gold that remained a mystery
Within mystical waters where mermaids sped
Unto Inlets of wealth off Neptunes shore
That seek lost treasures of ancient lore.

Storm within an Ocean so violent and strong
Claim the young lives of the seamen of old
Gone are the voices of sea shanty songs
Lost to the ocean waves valiant and bold
That lay with the treasure where they belong
Within seaweed sedge and burnished gold
Somewhere in the ocean there must surely be
Ancient buried treasure from a past history.

-----

Spring Awakens

Oh sacred tree where natures treasures lie
So sweet the golden sap that flows therein
Thou gnarled tangled boughs shall never die
Of ancient mystic charms that dwell within
Ever protected from the bleak winter sky.
When blessed seasons mother nature spins
The treasures of wonders spring beholds
As she weaves once more from seasons bold.

What magical fantasies might she now tell
Of dryads and faeries throughout the glade
Of maidens enchanted by her magical spell
That bades the bleak winter solstice to fade
Her prophesies cast where the forests dwell.
Of seasonal beauty spring blossom displayed
Blessed be trees thro'out the long seasons
Where Mother nature pledged her reasons.

-----

Spring Fever

A lilacs scent spreads upon earth growing
Within blossoms of a seasonal bouquet
With waters of streams gently flowing
How calming a scene of Springtime`s array
When the tiniest buds of May are showing
For love shall bloom within hearts this day
Such passion within breathes of desire
That shalt softly nurture flames of fire.

Come all ye may on a springtime season
To savour the pleasures of warmth within
For Mother of nature has her own reason
The warmth of your lover shall be no sin
Nor shalt passion be classed as treason
For spring is the season love shall begin
If summer should vanish with the rose
Let it be this love ne'er comes to a close.

-----

Yesterdays Future

To return once again to a familiar place
Of childhood memories once held in store
Hoping they shall discover a familiar face
But it shall never be the same as before
For old friends disappear with out a trace
And your home left in ruins for evermore
How can the future live through the past
When time has run out and fortunes cast.

Buildings that crumbled down to the ground
Of centuries past from a now forgotten age
Not a trace of yesterday there to be found
But an ancient chapter from a bygone page
Lies deep within leaves of a burial ground
Beneath blankets of moss and campion sage
So sad when memories we shall never lack
As eyes look forward there is no going back.

Into the Horizon

Beneath the burning skies I watched the sun,
Into the horizon it gently fell,
While clouds of dreams, their magic begun,
Enchantments woven in a dusky spell,
As sunset's reds then turned to night's own dun,
In paler light the moon sees all is well,
And destiny lingered to find her way,
As I watched the sun slowly set today.

-----

Roseate Due

Old-fashioned beauty kissed by morning dew,
In summer-rain her dreams reflect the sun,
And poets ponder magic she can do,
As worldly things the mind must surely shun,
Her thorns shall fight the heart that isn't true,
Yet bring her tender kiss to love begun,
To poets gazing on her blooming blush,
She sings harmony in a whispered hush.

-----

Vernal Love

I fell in love among the daffodils,
Those golden maids who dance in early spring,
My heart bid farewell to its winter chill,
As I saw beauty in everything,
The morning sun reflects upon my quill,
Release the words my heart now longs to sing,
Among the daffodils comes something new
And all my words can say is – ‘I love you!’

-----

Young at Heart

While skimming pebbles on sapphire sea,
You caught my eye with a cheeky smile,
Then later still we set our Pooh sticks free,
We watched them sail away in single file,
No grown up talk as I like you crazy, see,
So what if sometimes we play juvenile,
For soon enough you’ll kiss my waiting lips
And grasp love’s gentle breeze on fingertips.

Dancing To The Music

I woke up from your marvelous sweet gentle kisses
Your kisses so delicately had covered me every where
Tonight we’ll dance together as Mister and Misses

We danced to our favorite stylish cherished reminisces
Performing, enjoying each loving style with a loving stare
Laying snuggled, sweet kisses good night completing
For tomorrow is waiting for loving urges worth repeating

-----

Grave Yard

I entered the grave yard where so many are dead
Passing by, reading the etchings on their stones
Many people to numerous to count, sad what etchings said
Leprosy caught up to me, I’ve found my lovers stone
Opened the lid; got inside with him and the webs spiders had webbed
I’ve waited to die and be together eternally in our grave full of bones
I suffer no more, fear no more, and will rest forever more
In the arms of the man, now decomposed; I’ll love ceaselessly more

Breath of Life-Tadãsana

As feet lock firmly to the earth,
strong flows of energy transcend;
they travel upward to give birth
as Kundalini’s snake ascends.
Her rising wakens inner worth,
while mind-heart-soul seek threefold blend.
Between my feet and high-held crown,
the breath of life flows up and down.

-----

Breathing

I breathe along a silver line,
born deep within my pelvic bowl;
it travels upwards in my spine,
connecting chakras' farthest poles.
My body is a living shrine
to worship Thee, my inner soul.
On breathing in, my chest expands-
the air flows out on silver strands.

As waves of breathing follow tides,
I'm anchored safely in Thy core-
my mortal vessel floats and rides
until life's sea brings it ashore.
My trust is in the Self that guides
as long my soul keeps in rapport-
when breathing in, I'm filled with peace,
on letting go, follows release.

-----

Broken Wings

The door has fallen shut on you
and though you tried to find the key,
you carelessly forgot your cue,
forsook the precious guarantee
of selfless love you could accrue.
You’re left with crumbling trust’s debris.
Life’s offered chances, when not clasped,
are grains of sand, avoiding grasp.

-----

Dancing

I watch bold, swaying trees incite,
when with a belly dancer’s grace
they swing their branches left to right.
As she will move round hips in lace,
her black-veiled arms raised in the night,
the trees now dance at fevered pace.
At last both wind and music fade-
an end is put to dance well made.

-----

Isles of White

As isles of white float in blue seas,
my thoughts drift in a single queue
until they’re scattered by chant’s breeze-
swift bird-wings bring them home to you.
While daytime dreams may hold the keys
to future roads we might pursue,
our nighttime dreams are spun from thread,
once twined together, will not shred.

-----

Laughter II

Laughter is born within your eyes
from seed once sown by lover’s hand;
its birth is painless, without lies,
yet tears might flow from inner glands.
Freely given, it multiplies,
yet can’t be summoned on command.
While belly-laughter shakes out pain,
a little smile wipes off old strain.

-----

On Coloured Wings

On coloured wings my dreams take flight;
soaring above soft sky-ships’ flocks,
they travel through the moonlit night.
As gates to heart’s desire unlock,
my blood sings with increased delight-
sweet passion’s waves break on hard rock.
Into the stillness of love’s lake,
the mountain sends its thrilling quake.

-----

Suns Kiss

My skin still tingles from Sun's kiss,
his loving warmth fulfilled my dreams.
As each new touch prolongs hot bliss,
my body opens to bold beams.
His golden orb I'd hate to miss,
I am enfolded in strong streams.
My lover holds me in his arms-
I can’t resist his ardent charms.

Unraveling

Unraveling the knots that tied
our threads of life throughout the years,
each separate string acts like a slide-
projecting scenes of joy and tears.
One single golden strand inside,
remains as guide till sorrow clears.
All coloured filaments depict
days in the past, with boxes ticked.

What goes around

You have been in my blood so long,
I find it hard to rinse you out-
in love we blended our song,
now clots of pain obstruct its route.
This gentle stream once flowed so strong,
yet drought prevented future sprouts.
Sweet residues of you remain-
allowing me to love again?

Winter's Eve

In V-formations geese now leave-
dark wings write songs on lilac skies,
cry sad refrains as autumn grieves;
my heart is filled with past goodbyes.
I watch their flight on autumn's eve
and silence grows as honking dies.
Cold emptiness of winter nears
in tasted salt of unshed tears.

A carpet of brown-golden leaves
is being laid on garden's floor.
I hear small sparrows in the eaves
and know my soul will soar once more
when geese return and sky receives
again spring's song, I so adore.
My heart then fills with summer's glow-
cold ice shall melt as trust will grow.

Yoga XV ~ Pativrtta Parsvakonasana

I am a warrior at heart,
both feet are firmly on the ground.
As centered balance grows from start,
my body slowly twists around;
each muscle stretches to impart
asana's knowledge- most profound.
My mind now rests while Prana flows-
awareness of found freedom grows

Changes Coming

Morning called for firewood in the stove;
saw howled, another pallet reduced.
first burst of smoke wrapped around like a glove;
growing charms of radiant heat seduced.
seasons' change, a daylong path was wove.
brilliant sun shining down all day induced
an atmosphere so much like summertime:
drove home from work with window down, sublime!

Cold Boilers

Great stack stands over hulking industry
Rail line runs along mirrored canal
Great cranes await shipments, land of the free
Industry's workers, a nation's chorale
Efforts respond with possibilities
Outsourced production destroying morale
Profits now spent to buy out elections
Producing democracy's dissection

Years Pass

time has a way of winding itself down,
while youth stands fast in its contexts.
no way to expect what comes around,
while hindsight can leave one perplexed;
so, one discovers, the years have all flown
and great plans have all been annexed.
spectre of youth, razzing its tongue:
too many: your songs left unsung.

Questions

Find me a wall to be a head beater
I’m gonna be a wall bashing screamer
Just what is Iambic Pentameter
What on earth is an Ottava Rima
Something pronounceable would be neater
Who sets the rules…then death to that schemer
Tough luck! I'm told, he is centuries dead
Too late I guess then to chop of his head.

Love Will Set You Free

Are you bound by old traditions and family?
Thoughts of wealth and class mean all to some
They control and tell what you have to be
Brainwashed from birth until you succumb
Believe me when I say, only love will set you free.
Wealth and class will never make you whole
It is only true love that can free your soul.

The power of love shall set you free
To experience joys that lies deep inside
Of harmony and touch and eyes that see
The gentleness within you shall not hide
Feelings of endearment your love can be
What you feel deeply shall be your guide
Spiritual dreams shall be shared together
With the freedom you have of love forever.

To kiss by the moonlights warm mystic glow
When whispering your passionate desires
Just follow your heart then you shall know
That glowing embers shall add to the fire
When cool evening breezes do gently blow
Having all you could wish for to transpire
Love shall not part if forever you shall lust
For love that is true shall be based on trust.

Transformation

In your sun I bask and spread my wings,
left my cocoon, prepare for flight;
as transformation in me sings
I feel your rays of warming light.
Reaching to catch the golden strings
you‘ve sent to me in dance's rite,
I celebrate my shifting shape,
abandon bonds, I now escape.

Metamorphosis

Your freedom was never a result of me
Your creature state held you in there
Until it was time for you to be "be"
I was merely instrumental because of care
What has happened is you are now free
The butterfly is more beautiful in flight
The final stage when all is right.
