Divena CollinsThis path that I tread before me I wonder who trod there before What man or beast should it be Who ventured this earthen floor. I feel it to be upon ancient lore This path that I tread before me No by-laws in the rules of yore For the waters of time flow free. Gnarled of boughs upon the tree With tell tale signs of a mystery This path that I tread before me Holds remnants of ancient history. Who was the first to walk this way Mayhaps it belonged to the sea I felt great worth to find that day This path that I tread before me. ![]() ----- China Moon Of paper flowers beneath a China moon So delicate the blush of red he paints Of tinted buds that shall awaken soon To adorn the crowns of angels or saints How precious a jewel to bloom so free Of paper flowers beneath a China moon Fragile petals floating forth to the sea That calmly rests by an oceans lagoon. How canst this wonder flourish so soon From withered boughs once were bare Of paper flowers beneath a china moon That bloomed when not a bud was there. Had an artists brush created this scene Of the delicate petals his art had strewn This masterpiece that has simply been Of paper flowers beneath a China moon. ![]() ----- Dreams of Love When I close my eyes and think of you Of days and nights shared together Now embedded deeply within view Memories I shall remember forever. As time passed by my feelings grew I knew we were meant for each other When I close my eyes and think of you I could never fall in love with another. Torrential waters began to flow A star had fallen from the skies Ignoring the wisdom of the wise It was how life was meant to go. The death of a star is no surprise It is written in the heavens above For an angel it had signified love A star had fallen from the skies. ![]() ----- Impossible Dreams Cast in the same poetic mould as thine I trust that my humble muse doth allow My worthiness speaks of love divine Deep within a cherished moments vow. Silent they sleep contented anew Both of a similar mutual insight Borne of a gift they already knew Of love that had beguiled the night. ![]() ----- Moments Lost Time shall not bring back moments lost They are gone from hearts forever Dreams of love are blown and tossed Like the winds of stormy weather. When the love we had was utter bliss Time shall not bring back moments lost Nor shall reverse the memories amiss Which remain within hearts embossed. Hidden from view and easily forgot. Cascading down the way they ought When e`er the boughs began to grow Of tiny shoots seasons noticed not Weeping so freely above and below. Softly as a whisper of willowy leaves Calming senses of the overwrought Within the gentlest incoming breeze Of tiny shoots seasons noticed not. ![]() ----- White Satin Within one evening you came to me Holding me closely within your arms With love betwixt both eyes so free How could I miss sensuous charms. I had tried to refuse and be demure Within one evening you came to me As soon as I mentioned I was pure I knew eventually It could never be. I was so naive I had trusted thee Was completely within your hands Within one evening you came to me I knew then of affections demands. Jem FarmerBells ring beneath a canopy of trees, Each one echoing a late spring breeze, The ethereal blue reaches far and wide, Rippling just like the ocean’s tide. The first signs of summer tease, Bells ring beneath a canopy of trees, To welcome the season of the sun, The bluebells sing each and every one. And children dream of a sandy beach, The summer fun is in their reach, Bells ring beneath a canopy of trees, These sunny days a silent reprise. Mystic rhymes to call the fae, In this wooded realm where fairies play, Enchantments bring a gentle ease; Bells ring beneath a canopy of trees. ![]() Bluebell Wood - James D Preston ----- Catch a Falling Star True love, the rarest falling star, If caught the heart bursts into light, So bright it shimmers near and far, And lingers beyond dark of night. To catch its beam for the pocket, True love, the rarest falling star, This heart then a treasured locket The sweetest cookie in the jar. A serenade by old guitar, That calls aloud to hearts intent, True love, the rarest falling star, So rare no fear would dare dissent. This empathy between two souls, At first it seems a tad bizarre, Yet predefined on ancient scrolls; True love, the rarest falling star. ![]() Catch a Falling Star - Josephine Wall ----- Mother As mother soothes away our tears, When no one else can understand, Like a goddess yet never grand Her light falls upon the darkest fears. She comforts us so we may sleep, As mother soothes away our tears, Through the night until morning nears, Do we hear her softly weep? For she must let her child run free, And face the pain that oft appears, As mother soothes away our tears, Her love is ours whatever may be. She knows in her wisdom of years, That life is not always pure or kind, But our own path we have to find, As mother soothes away our tears. ![]() MOther and Baby Swan - Stan Himilton ----- My Ship Beneath the deep blue sky, my ship, Its curving timbers bend and bow, Upon a mast flapping about, Are white sails all eager to go. Ryter RoethicleI have flown where birds cannot fly. O'er the patterned and silent sunlit sky My wings have ridden the silken morn That is covering Cancer and Capricorn This life holds pleasures you cannot buy I have flown where birds cannot fly. In my time I have covered the world And seen cloud pennants fly unfurled So many times seen the day being born On wings that ride the silken morn. I have flown where birds cannot fly. And then in turn seen that day die. My wings have whispered a song to me Then sung, "You are free! You are free!" Because of that happiness you can cry, I have flown where birds cannot fly. ![]() ----- Cultural Awareness There's no was, only now and the future, We listen to music, courtesy of the heavens And ignore it thinking of it only as noise With little appreciation of all the life around us. Rarely are the young ever told the truth There's no was, only now and the future, Instead they are taught History and lies, Biased acts, written by vested interests. There are lessons to be learned by all this But academics are intrinsically idealists. There's no was, only now and the future, They have no practical experience with lies. We must learn from the practices of Pagans People who live with the Earth and her ways People who live and build within their means There's no was, only now and the future. ![]() ----- Dream On There is a fantasy bridge I see in my mind Across a deep cut stream way down below On each side are plants of a different kind On one they are alive with the solar glow. On the other the jungle's had too much sway There is a fantasy bridge I see in my mind There nothing can grow from day to day But life is there if I only I wish to find. But those that have moved, are they blind? On the island everything is looking verdant There is a fantasy bridge I see in my mind And they have enough sense never to flaunt. But man has not moved there save a few Why have they moved, what will they find? A low profile means no inquisitive crew There is a fantasy bridge I see in my mind.br> ![]() ----- Eyes Have It As I look at you held in my arms, Looking in dark mysterious pools. Fixing me with your cobra charms, Your eyes make me break all my rules. Lips touch creating magic benign As I look at you held in my arms, I feel your warm lips melt on mine, And gone any warnings, any alarms. Sunlight sparkles from your eyes warms And a dull day takes on a different sight. As I look at you held in my arms, The day brightens and clouds turn white. During a kiss, you cannot hide Each one has meaning, each one informs And with commitment there is pride, As I look at you held in my arms. ----- Foolish Dreams The mad fool dreams once more Slave to his temporal sight He steps through that phantom door. Far into the late, late night Wings spread in his desperate flight The mad fool dreams once more. Soaring heavenwards to the light He feels the joy the love of soar. Airborne through the lands of yore Past clouded towers and minaret The mad fool dreams once more Now only stars, heavens gems beset. Flying on and on, into the night Past all the sane that went before. Reaching Heaven as some fool might The mad fool dreams once more. ![]() ----- For the Birds I hear them keeping house through inner walls. Some birds have made a nest within my eaves. Because the weather's cold with frequent squalls, They've taken refuge until the storm recedes. They sing to me, whilst I'm at work or play, I hear them keeping house through inner walls. It cannot but help to brighten up my day As I listen to their chatter and neighbours calls. There's a gradual silence as night time falls And birdsongs cease safe within their lair. I hear them keeping house through inner walls That music they sang was so extraordinaire. When this part of earth wakens from sleep, Spring awaits the hearing of all the new calls. A kind of promise for their home to keep, I hear them keeping house through inner walls. ![]() ----- Grey Hope Walking this path, I feel Hope in a raindrop From a falling leaf lighting upon my cheek. It runs down my face and doesn't stop It feels like it is from somewhere bleak It is the time of death, sleep, and autumn Walking this path, I feel Hope in a raindrop That falls anonymously to the ground But in that greyness there will be no sound. Where in time it will gather in a pool But the winter solstice is never cruel. Walking this path, I feel Hope in a raindrop Knowing with each new day there's hope I see there's a bridge made by the leaves Showing their death will build the future Petals from flowers show they also believe Walking this path, I feel Hope in a raindrop. ![]() ----- Gone I'm comforted by this semi darkness As hypnotic flickering candles shine How could my life become such a mess? Sitting here alone drinking my wine. As I sit here I feel music flow over me I'm comforted by this semi darkness Silently remembering what life used to be Especially cognoscent of our happiness. Reminiscing about each loving caress Remembering vividly each loving kiss I'm comforted by this semi darkness Mountains of love become deepest abyss Is fantasy just another world of lies? How could my life become such a mess What is laughter but the start of sighs? I'm comforted by this semi darkness ![]() ----- Just a Pause Because I could not stop for death It meant I had put death on ice So he stopped for someone else And left me to my own device. Now life seems to go at a happy pace Because I could not stop for death Now I think about who took my place Pausing to take a deep, deep breath. I have no desire for place or wealth But now and then when life is sound Because I could not stop for death I stop and take a good look around. I'll wait to hear that gentle tap And know at once my caller's Seth. I'll rise from this my earthly nap Finally making a stop for death. ![]() ----- Media Truths A Tap-dance on the written word, Reading's wove create a snare Creating a desire to lay bare And lie about events occurred. Paragons of truth speak absurd And Tap-dance on the written word, Suddenly everything is blurred Black is white and is preferred. Catch the unwary in vacant stare Then the truth becomes slurred They Tap-dance on the written word, And non essentials til they swear. Games are crueller the facts absurd Now the predator is the prey. Then justice does innocence betray, And Tap-dances on the written word. ![]() ----- On Cue After a wanderer's sees many things, And just as often many lessons learned. Experience found, homeward he turned In apprehension, to the past he clings. Spoken, promises made, he returns, After that wanderer's sees many things, Yet hope lingers and again he rings, And casts his lot, still fearing burns. Her smile speaks more than words could say, Is she the one with whom he sings? After that wanderer's sees many things, There are no doubts, a desire to stay, Having heard the flutter of Cupids wings. Her eyes speak volumes of her intent, Until finally fate gives her consent, After that wanderer's sees many things. ----- Sailors Death And only the sea shall know them No wind will tug the wet shrouds hem The ocean depth will be their grave. Like a farewell flag, the waters wave. There is no church with bells to ring And only the sea shall know them. No choir with caring hymns to sing Finally without a padre to say "Amen". No flowers cover the hallowed site Nor moon to shine its blessed light. And only the sea shall know them There shall be no-one to condemn. Neptune has claimed them all And to his bosom they are gone Till Armageddon makes its call Then not only the sea shall know them. ![]() ----- Veriest Fool On looking into the evening skies Seeing the many stars up in space I wish I was looking into your eyes Imagining seeing your shining face. I would see you so easily found. On looking into the evening skies The brightest star is in your eyes I'm unable to look anywhere around. In that cool blowing soft night's air And be reminded of your silky hair On looking into the evening skies I hear the wind and its wistful sighs. Everyone but the veriest fool must know You are the epitome of love and desire And even in your absence see you On looking into the evening skies. ![]() ----- What is Too Much? It is never enough to be sad or lament The Earth, - the world denies that mood. Blue skies, warm days, is what is meant And grabbing happiness is always good. Further happiness should never be denied It is never enough to be sad or lament Nor is it to seek happiness, and found it cried But once again, that is not what is meant. Happiness is based on touch and on scent A loved one will always responds to touch It is never enough to be sad or lament Or to desire a love thought to be too much. What is too much love, can there be enough? I look at you and savour love's scent And in touching never fear your rebuff. It is never enough to be sad or lament. ----- X as in Kiss As your love-lit eyes peered into mine I feel them searching my soul As if by magic it begins to shine I now know the feeling of being whole. Just that one look has made it so As your love-lit eyes peered into mine Suddenly after feeling my hearts climb A deluge of words and deeds now flow. What would a touch or kiss then start, And who knows what path we'd chart? As your love-lit eyes peered into mine Then once again our bodies combine. As two shining souls by love were united There could be no feeling more divine. Together to Nirvana we'd be invited, As your love-lit eyes peered into mine. ![]() ----- Zeb He is alone in a city of millions They ignore that fact he is there at all He does not meet with their expectations And so he is faced with a sea of walls.
