2011 Poetry Form Challenge

#06 Italian Octave

This octave consists of two italian quatrains and was well used by Petrarch in his poetry. It had no set form or line length then and was used as a vehicle for his poems including his sonnets. Later Spenser formalised it to Iambic Pentameter, although modern poets prefer to just stick to pentameter. The original suggested pattern is:
a. b. b. a. a. b. b. a.
Nature #1

Knowing that soon its time will come
Each plant lives and dies, and so, and so,
Its own nourishment helps it grow.
The next generation will then become
A viable life and then in turn succumb.
Bound tight together for support
Flourishing with life on high and low
The life before, setting the epitome.

Ryter Roethicle
The problem with this form is that unlike Italian, English is not a naturally rhyming language and over the centuries, as the language patterns changed poets laboured over the rhyme pattern, to not make it look forced, or too birthday cardish when the modern expedient is simply to add two Italian Quatrains and come up with:
a. b. b. a. c. d. d. c.
Nature #2

Given any chance at all new life begins
Growing, forming, shaping adapting to strife
This is the challenge Nature puts on life.
It thrives and shapes and lives and fits within
Each plant mutates and has adapted so
And every year with the start of Natures round
On looking close a new shoot is found
Having laid for months asleep in snow.

Dance With The Devil

Black the sun has burned the sky
In a dark abyse of wanton shame
The moon shall never be the same
While deep in purgatory shall go I;
A temptress of the darkened light
Live to die within smouldering arms,
Cannot escape those evil charms
I shall dance with the devil tonight.

Deep in the pit of a burning fire
Unto the demon of wilful corrupt
Red hot ashes of sins shall erupt
Defence is low, but hot with desire;
Yet teasing of the flames to ignite
Wild are the passions of fiery lust,
Ashes are ashes as dust is to dust
I shall dance with the Devil tonight.

-----

Dark Unto Light

This love that I give, is all I have left
From a heart that was broken in two
Fragmented feelings remained a few
Rejection and loss, with spirits bereft;
Rediculed, bullied, with words of hate
Is it any wonder I learned to mistrust,
That I shrunk within from words unjust
Was this to be my down trodden fate.

The love that I give is all I have now
Treat It gently with true loving care
All love needs is a life time to share
And a little understanding shall allow;
Perfect harmony only lovers can give
Not the hurt or torment of word abuse,
Nor love designed for an evil misuse
But cherish forever as long as we live.

-----

Heartfelt Love

I percieve thy sadness within thine eyes
What ails thee my love pray tell me do
I shall not forsake thee I love only you,
Pray do not mistrust me I telleth no lies
Come nigh my breasts to soothe thy cries;
I shalt bequeath for this pledge reigns true
Then I shalt come before thee hitherto
Speaketh not of farewell we shalt improvise.

-----

Love or Lust

Some people dream of love that is true.
But I wonder now does this truly exist
When teasing with temptations persist,
Could it not be lust these feelings grew
Can true love only be for a chosen few;
Are pleasures of lust too hard to resist
While a true love charms to reminisce
But if truth be known his needs are you.

Sweetened words of a love and desire
While the chemistry shows in their eyes
Can it be lust not love there in disguise
Which ignites the flames of eternal fire
When passionate heat of lusts transpire
Could this love and lust both improvise
Sharing in harmony can only be wise
A perfect relationship shall be entire.

-----

Moon Wish

Deep in a trance within the moons light
Within her chants a wish reigns supreme,
Closest to earth the moon sends a beam
Her dreams shall all come true this night;
She wished for her lover to hold her dear
For the magical moonlight casts a spell,
And it is only a time itself that can tell
But now is the time she needs him near

Tomorrow night watch out for the moon
It shall then be closer to the earths floor
Much closer than it has ever been before
Within a trance they shall both commune;
Spiritually aware of both senses sublime
Mystical moments that both shall share,
When one loving heart becomes now a pair
Then spiritual lovers until the end of time.

-----

Music Of Love

If music be the food of everlasting love
Then I shalt but play thee a merry note
For thee my love this aria shalt devote
And we shall dance thro` heaven above
Spirits of love shalt rise thro` the sky;
To a most beautiful moonlight concerto
Spirits as one in a harmonious allegro
Unto a perfetto finale of a gentle sigh.

-----

Oceanic Dreams

What do think of when you gaze out to sea,
Sitting there all alone so deep in your mind
Do you think of your lover that you may find,
So deep in emotion in your dream fantasy
Of loves desires that you now cant foresee;
Or just gaze, at the waves to gently unwind
Deep in meditation leaving thoughts behind,
For a soothing balm of the ocean spray free.

Do you feel emotions from a gentle breeze
Of families moarning when lives were taken
That never again shall their prayers awaken,
No longer to stroll through forests of trees
Nor relax by the ocean and dream at ease;
Memories of victims that were forsaken
The calming of the ocean shall re-awaken
To ebb and to flow with a gentler tease.

-----

Old Man Willow

This ancient tree of a historical age
Had once stood proud his mighty girth,
Bent were his boughs arched from birth
Thy withered leaf was his history page
Tarnished his trunk strangled with sage;
He dwelt thro` times of joy`s and mirth
His roots now gnarled `neath the earth
Spent of vigour no more to rampage.

-----

Promised Love

How warm and tender a kiss can be
When lips surrender to love divine
How I yearned for thee to be mine
As we sat beneath the Willow tree;
Dreaming forever both you and me
Thro`misty eyes we supped of wine
As love`s sweet passions entwine
Desirous dreams shall ever be free.

-----

Still Glides the Stream

Still shall the hamlets stream glide
Gurgling stream with foam of white
When I was young and wished to hide
To be at one with the country side;
Just to dream by a winding stream
To remain by my silent reflection
In shades of natures protection.
I had been there deep in my dreams

I had been there lost in my dreams
I saw my mother was sitting there
She looked sad and deep in despair
A spirit from the past so it seems
Returned from the earth to redeem
Soft breezes had caressed my hair
I awoke but she was no longer there
And again still glides the stream.

-----

What Is Love

What is this thing that they call love
That makes a heart beat twice as fast
Can it be a magic spell has been cast
From unearthly beings undreamed of;
Are we just their puppets upon a string
Playing with feelings that rest so deep,
To render us restless we cannot sleep
And to do and say the strangest things.

How when they say it is just chemistry
And that true love is really quite blind
Does it mean we are out of our mind
Our brains are not entered on registry;
So what now is this thing called love
Whatever it is the stars always shine,
When we are together love is divine
Sharing earthly passions dreamed of.

Yellow Butterfly

This morning graced the first signs of spring,
Though early, arrived with an angels sigh
From the wings of the tiny yellow butterfly
So beautiful a presence this butterfly sings;
The rarest species here on Englands shore
Brought such pleasure with beauty abound
Nature in all of her glory sent to astound,
Such pleasure I never encountered before.

Like a springtime primrose fresh and new
Joyfully free as she flutters her romance
Soft whisper of wings in her woven dance
She sips the dewdrops while all blooms grew;
And silently settles folding her satin wings
It is there she shall rest the evening long
When birds have ceased to sing their song,
For her interest follows what nature brings.

Choreographed

Life is so much like the steps of ballet
one minute your flying above cloud nine;
or alone you'll sit and wait for a sign
hoping that it shows you a bright new way
So you pick yourself up, balance the sway;
decide everything's going to be fine
from now on you follow no crooked line
and dance to your own tune without delay

Hunter-Prey

I looked for it within the social scene,
A hunter on a never-ending quest,
My prey, a place my heart could safely rest,
And fill the emptiness that lies between
The birth of life and the end in death, serene.
I looked in all the places I thought were best,
Towards the north, the south, the east and west,
But it was not in any place I had been.

I left my quest behind to live my life,
Content to dwell where poetís words decree
That love divine is always seeking me
In this dear world of hunger and warring strife
Alone but for a pen and painterís knife
My artisan seemed to be floating free
Then here I found it, the only place it be
My love, at last you come to make my life.

In Her Hands

O lady toil the Earth with care
Nurturing birth with her soil
In darkness roots began to coil
And stretch to depths that lead them there
Onwards the go to seek fresh air
To see the sky in Springtimeís foil
The gift of life from Winterís spoil
This pure delight is ours to share.

O Mother Earth who feeds the lands
With joyous love for our employ
The first Spring blooms her clear envoi
On highest mountain where she stands
To salty waves upon the sands
She grants new life and brings us joy
Each man, woman, each girl and boy
The breath of life is in her hands

Old-time Moves of No Regret

Through steely blue the spirits dance
the old-time moves of no regret
begin to mingle retrospect
inventing history of romance
to give new love a sporting chance
demanding truth of intellect
cavorting trust amid respect
as lovers share a fleeting glance.

A moment lost to longing stares
a promised kiss upon a smile
the hidden wants of visual style
that leads the knowing unawares
revealing thoughts the heart declares
the talking eyes that stay awhile
like the sun on an old sundial
for love has sworn its place is there.

-----

Weave of Fate

Beneath the cherry blossom, I believe,
I fell in love with you ere summerís sun
A love so new my heart was all to-do
A dream I thought I would never achieve.
This mystery that only fate could weave
To ease the ache of want that left me dun
Untouched was I as love my mind did shun
So pain would fade just like the autumn leave.

There was no plan to tap a ceaseless dream
Or reach the joyous heights as movies end
A sushi smile that made my iced-heart bend
In ways my thoughts forgot so it would seem
I was so tainted like pots of soured cream
And Iíd closed my heart to loveís concealed wend
An island lost so I could not defend
The grasp of love that made my senses scream.

And now I feel your arms sweetly surround
My soul within the tenderest embrace
And feel my pulse when eíer eyes see your face
While in your kiss my words are lost, dumbfound
As I fall gently to the waiting ground
To swirling joys of love your fingers trace
No time to think of elegance or grace
When lost in love I sigh Iím truly found.

-----

Worlds of Poetry

From love divine, the kiss of hell
mbraced my heart in ceaseless pain
and left me standing in the rain
to hear the tolling of the bell
the lonely sound, a deathly knell
as words reveal Iím lost, insane
to never feel the joy again
yet lips still smile to say allís well.

The shrouded mask that is my face
to cloak the pain I feel inside
nowhere to turn or just confide
yet none shall see my hiding place
the loner seeks no sweet solace
as feelings shrink to be denied
and no more tears are freely cried
the fact I cared is my disgrace.

No love shall eíer penetrate me
to make me dance to rhythmic beat
I shall not feel waves lick my feet
my eyes no longer look to see
the light that sung of liberty
denied the sun and summer heat
the loneliness seems coldly sweet
in darker worlds of poetry.

His gifts for filled and desires were renowned
He suffered in pain, now he's homeward bound;
Homeward bound, His freedom we'll sing in a hymn

Green Martians

Green Martians have landed across the street
Strange creatures from mars covered in green

Giving kind words "Happy St. Patrick's Day"

Wondering if his face will glow and delight my responder
I bent to remove rocks on path...he saw another moon rise

Indians Blazing

Indians blazing fires on fields of hay
Disrupting inhalation, taking in debris
Swarms of beeís scatter swarming me
Strong Winds swirling whisking at bay
Clouds gloomy grays encase the valley
Humans, bugs, animals crawling aimlessly
Wishing to escape homes on fire, I flee
Leaving miles torched by Indians pep rally.

It Was Grand!

They touched and kissed with their hands
As though by lips; it was grand, it was grand!
Their eyes explored all splendours in view
As though by lips, it was grand, it was grand!
Enriching thoughts restored and delightful new
They touched, kissed with eyes and hands, it was grand!
How could they live after a complete eclipse
They live forever in harmonious outstrips.

The Next Song And Dance

He held me close in loving arms
Told me he loved me, I believed it so
We talked for hours, on the enhanced patio
Delighting in each others charismatic charms
We toasted to faith, who given us another chance
We spoke like we'd know each other for years
Sharing a kiss; a kiss to relish among our souvenirs
Tranced by the glance, romance was a serene song and dance

The romantic night together at last and alone
Immediately defying what friends had recalled
We laughed, we danced, let past pass into a controlled stall
Alone, feelings shifted to a comfortable zone
Not knowing the next step, unarranged and unbeknown
On our walk on the beach, with the blanket now sprawled
Enthralled in our love where heartfelt love was installed
Making our evening a forever foundational stone

What More Could You Ask For?

My heart is soft and warm inside
Look at all the beauty I bring
I hear the humming of love songs I sing
Seeing the true lining I so desire to hide
At times the scars of things been denied
Ya see, I am a human being...
A dash of spirals, at times a ding-a-ling
Just like you, I'm a sophisticated Jekyll and Hyde

Because of You

My nights have brightened because of you
Still boring days of a more mundane task
Showing a happy-go-lucky carefree mask
With heart thumping till you come into view.
Then all is well and settled with the world
And my heart becomes light, I smile again
From the madness of doubt I emerge sane
As once again our lives become unfurled.

-----

Extremes

Oh Love, doest thou know thy brother Hate?
Nay! Please realise that he remembers thee;
For no matter how ignorant thou dost be,
His knowledge of thee could never dissipate.
And shouldst thou seek, perchance, to expiate,
Or wish to make amends for past inclemency
Whilst thou art modest, forgiving in thy decency
He was never ever known to mitigate.

-----

Give all to Love

Thereís no secret, thereís nought bizarre
Give all yourself, and loveís returned.
Do not hold back, do not be concerned
Just place your desire into lifeís jar.
Thereís no challenge, no call from afar
For true love sets its mark to all
And all lovers hearken to its call.
Give all to love and follow your star.

Tonight our love reached out so far.
Yet I am reminded there is nothing,
Nothing we cannot do with loving
For each time we love, we raise the bar.
Each time we give itís returned as par
Or better, proving loving is giving.
Love is the best of all adventuring,
Give all to love, and follow your star.

-----

Fireside Dreaming

Would'st thou nestle by my fireside,
Needs that I be your beacon in the night
Your lighthouse or just a shining light
Or would thou prefer in the dark to hide?
I offer you warmth staying by my side
Instead of that cold harsh white sight
A warmth of which will your soul ignite
As in your lovers arms you chose abide.

As we sit here let me feed thee sweetmeats,
But not sweets or food of the fattening kind.
Not of sugar nor a flour by man refined,
Nay my love I would offer you better treats.
A kiss or more from thy lips most surely beats
All that, and after one sweet kiss we'll find
Some more, and after find our love redefined
And to build love depends on what one eats.

-----

La Mer

I know I watched the sea a long time today,
Watching patterns in the swells constantly change
In doing so see the patterns in the sand rearrange
Matching each wave movement like a child at play.
Each seventh wave more powerful than the rest
Dashing then crashing down onto the dark sand
Like a conquering warrior trying to gain land
Then the white foamy retreat having tried her best.

It goes on in sunlight and all night by moonlight
This constant attack and retreat, high tide, low tide
Where the sea and the land constantly collide.
A mating ritual where two lovers must ever unite.
Sometimes with the waning moon a gentle swive
And gentle winds caress the waves onto the land.
Sometimes see the white foam crashing on the sand
As if proving to her lover, she's well and truly alive.

-----

Love Lingers

The piper plays, and then each part allots
He lingers awhile, but not reluctantly so
It is free to you and I, to come and go
In staying back we're tied in tender knots.
Feeling trembles when we kiss this way
Music has stirred the feeling in our breast
And those tender touches do all the rest
Matched with looks that bid each other to stay.

Love Never Lingered

The piper played, but was out of tune
And had a mind thinking of another thing
He misheard, instead heard other words ring.
And anger and mistrust clouded the moon
Forcing a friendship, to end so much too soon.
Bitter words and soured feelings in the breast
And angry looks and sounds did all the rest,
Thus reducing it all to just a crazy cartoon.

-----

The Mists of Time

Somewhere in the mists of time I met you
We shared wine and bread together you and me
And the songs sang will echo through eternity
And now each life I wait until our rendezvous.
Each blessed meeting this life the days are few
Sharing wine and bread and song, being happy
Confident of a love that is more than certainty
But planned by fate, getting stronger as it grew.

-----

Nuovo Viaggio

Soft winds blow o'er moonlit sheets of green
Highlighting darker paths of what was brown,
Leading from what was a familiar town,
To an unknown future, and places yet unseen.
Clouds silently manoeuvre and reset the scene
And doubt enters the mind and on the face a frown
Replaces carefree smile as rain suddenly beats down.
Swiftly removing pictures of what could have been.

What was promise now seems lost in all the rain
A feeling that hopes and dreams have washed away
All chances to start anew at the start to this day,
Creating more fear to walk on this new path again.
But come the morn, a new sight will be seen,
With once dull pastures shiny, refreshed withal
Once drought starved trees again standing tall
As strong winds blow o'er sunlit sheets of green.

-----

Photograph

I sit here and look at your photo again
Iím reminded of how my life has been
Until recent merely a poor love scene
But now its strong there is no strain
Out of madness you've made me sane
My previous life has been so mean
A brighter side through you I've seen
You have proved our loveís not in vain.

-----

Prelude to a kiss

As I look at you held warmly, safely in my arms,
I find myself looking deeply into your eyes.
Sometimes itís like looking in sea reflecting skies,
And my heart beats crazy like a street of fire alarms.
Other times like two deep dark mysterious pools.
I see your eyes close and then, even unexposed
You pull me deeper into you to a place undisclosed
Making me realise loving you creates its own rules.

Once our lips touch they create magic so benign
The dull day takes on a far, far different light,
Or the moon becomes a larger and brighter sight
And with the stars watch as our souls intertwine.
My mind spins like Iíve drunk too much wine
Then see the early sun as the morning unloads
The clouds whiten, and then the day explodes.
Nothing equals your soft lips melting on mine.

-----

Presence in my mind

You have become a presence in my mind.
I do not like it, for no longer is my mind free
Instead, my waking time is taken up with thee
My thoughts once controlled and simple kind
Now wander off in space, to leave me blind
And think of things that could pleasure be
Of the future, of love and of you and me
And the way our souls around each other wind.

It would help knowing what your intentions are
Then I could make up some kind of future plan.
Are you to be the comic, and I the straight man
And I the subject of laughter in every bar.
I would rather be picked as your guiding star
So that in time you'd climb into my sedan
We would drive off and follow our own plan
Where I drive and you lead us to lands afar.

-----

Reality

There is a silent song, soft as tear drops Slow as the rain poised at my fingertips Ready to be played in soft wordily snips In words of beauty, that my muse just pops Such as morality and sexuality Written out in verse under the same light Whose touches only come in visions at night And speaks one word to me, "Reality".

-----

Somewhere

Somewhere between not there and halfway
My life was like a parade and carried on.
Somewhere between half full and gone
There was a grey zone where I lived each day.
Somewhere we met and then I went astray
Planning a future we could live upon.
Somewhere between then and now we saw the dawn
Leaving the moon, seeing the sun leading our way.

Somewhere between not there and halfway
After the parade was stood down, I was nowhere
I had no-one for whom I should care
You left, but came back. I had to find a way
I had to find a way that would make you stay
Fate had set her challenge, I knew I had to dare
Somewhere between then and now you learned to care
Now I have you, and youíll never go away.

-----

Yesterday

Yesterday I was the sun that saw you swim nude,
Then smile at my warmth as I dried your skin.
Yesterday I teased your hair, I was a wind.
And lifted your skirts high, and your mood
Yesterday as a river I held your breasts in reflection,
You whispered secrets to the woman behind.
Yesterday I was a branch your thighs entwined
My leaves are richer having known your perfection.

-----

Zenith

A perfume splash on ivory mounds,
Or between, or there, where blush wine
And colours melt swirling shapes divine,
Creating heartbeats and throbbing pounds.
Thighs brush, whispers, a deeper voice
Stockings discard, and scented winds drift
Across shimmering pools, in passioned shift
Moon glow colours become the loving choice.

Lips shining in candle light gloss
Promising eyes, soft with capture,
Wish a lovers hand tiptoeing there,
Making goose bumps rise on ribs emboss,
Tickle belly sides, and soft spoke tips
Feather breath warmth, voiceless words
Spoken by those eyes with shining chords
Until final mews of pleasure from those lips.

Addiction

As smoke is drawn in guileless lungs, it burns
tobacco orange- additives convict;
inhaling fumes, polluting blood, constrict
resisting veins, till conscious choice adjourns.
Inside, the body changes, soon it yearns;
while restless fingers search, dry lips are licked-
it might be years before the habit's kicked.
Obsessive craving, hard to beat, returns.

-----

Bound

With threads, much stronger than a spider's web,
I'm bound. Across my chest run filaments-
blood spun from whispered sighs as love torments;
the leash is taken in on passion's ebb.
I'm given rein to ride when senses soar,
surpassing obstacles to dare the edge-
till heat is spent upon a sheltered ledge.
New yarn is twined from heartbeats in rapport.

-----

Dawn

5.30 am: on a Queensland beach
an orange dawn shakes off night's flimsy dress;
awakens dozing waves in warm caress,
envelops surf and sand, within her reach.
She leaves the ocean's bed- a naiad's breach;
he's loath to let her go, checks her progress
across the crimson sky, knows he'll possess
her once her round is full- a perfect peach.

-----

Dreaming

Night's velvet blanket covers her, enfolding
silky limbs in moonlit hues of blue.
On naked skin shine blooming drops of dew-
a promising relief now still withholding.
She rests in Morpheus' arms, prey to his moulding-
encountering voluptuous debuts.
As nibbled kisses stir, excite, imbue
defenseless flesh- high peaks are long upholding.

-----

Dusk

Dusk wears her purple negligee tonight;
she's weary from her travels, longs for bed
and for the cool touch of her lover's spread.
His western sands are bordered by surf's white,
soft waves of music welcome her, invite;
as moon's pale glow turns purple into red,
the remnants of her evening dress are shred.
In joining they fulfill sweet passion's rite.

-----

Pruning

A dissonant disturbs love's concert soon,
croaks like a frog in heat before its mate-
romantic tones turn into vile debate.
As clouds ascend, hiding the face of Moon,
pink veils withdraw, arresting lovers' swoon;
all fervour now abates- they sit up straight.
The final chord resounds, it's not too late:
before ill weed grows roots, it'd best be pruned.

-----

Tango

With measured steps and bodies taut, they dance;
impassive faces sharply turn aside
as patterns weave- blood's passion still denied.
When rhythms quicken, both performers prance,
unspoken challenges exchanged in glance.
Deliberation dripping from each stride,
feeds fires now igniting from inside.
In tango's thrall, the couple glides- entranced.

Hold Your Own

Don't ignore the music of the unknown
For if you do then it will drown you out,
Playing in your ears like a wild mans shout,
Taking your attentions with slide trombone
Into another zone without a dance,
Lost chances, to ever shifting currents
Of air, tides of despair, joys remnants
Held fast on the stays of ones boots, by chance.

-----

Honesty

Though I can see his face accurately
Where this vision comes from is just mundane,
Just as the crafter weaves his colored skeins
From cotton, silk or woolie weft, lovely
Is its nature and how this hearts purely
Devout emtion sees through all doubts pain,
Forever to be as swain for her blain
Soul that witnesses love so readily.

For she sees thee in the sunset and hills,
Amongst shadows that shade ev'ry figure,
Flower, stream or door forming crenature
And curve of branch, leaf, fabric, as eyes will,
To see your face, feel your heart beat, ne'er still,
As surely as though it were to adure
If not that the mind does play with the cure
That defines the measure this one shall fill.

-----

Illumination

Thou art my muse, my alternative me
Or perhaps just another shining star
Providing Imbas Forosnai by far
Reaching sight, only poets may with see.
Surely thine is the gift of true romance
For no less is this fire lit from within
Than by one who owns his own light therein,
And so it goes, I've struck fire more than once.

-----

Journey Into Night

From the light we once beheld life,
In warming ways wandered there for days
Delighting in dreaming rays of bright plays
Through trees in tumultuous breeze; the spaewife
Then foretold a new passage would begin,
Rife shadows falling beside oaks and feet
Where clouds gather greetings, days end to meet
As twilight descends, we walk darkly in.

-----

Sate

Should we both come to privations plate
Lest we accept the bounty love bestows
In a recipe meant to help it grow
And hold back no morsel though we would wait?
A love creates the formula of fate,
Dashes of cinnamon from the bistro
Where latte, chai tea and zinfandel flow
Into our hands and hearts fully ornate.

-----

Southern Strides

Come to the plate is Chile's free trades
As Obama bee lines to the south climes
Brazils beehive is now 5th, without limes,
Just nuts, wax and acai get diets made
In the shade, but what of new oil finds,
Could they be the next oily barons
Or will the drug cartels fuel more cron
Where rainforest used to be nature's rind?

Waiting for Summer

Viola's peep through, at first few and small,
Their tiny splashes of hue from humus
Now uncovered by snow, are so joyous
To see, after so long a wait, withal
Are only the beginning of sweet spring,
Not conceding into summers new dress
Lest we forget to woo the season less,
For pressed, brings no less waiting July's ling.

Reaching Out

I reached out for love but no one was there
My yearning and passion reigned supreme
All that was left were remnants of a dream,
With empty desire for a love not to bear
But my heart had guessed he did not care;
Blindly I reached towards hope with esteem
Searching once more for a love to redeem
Only memories shall flicker by candle flare.

Reaching out again

I tried to catch your hand but missed you.
I watched you walk away, I thought forever,
But fate has a way of making things occur
Some things that create a different point of view.
We met again, something made our love renew
And now I know that nothing could e'r deter
Me from my love, my soul love, whatsoever
We shall be together till time itself is through.

When you come into sight, late at night
I dwell in all you offer and share
Knowing and sensing you truly care
Your touching words however slight
Moves my senses, to a parallel domain
Many nights of calm romance well spent
Music played soft and eloquent
Erasing all doubts of loving again.
