Ode to Sméagol (1)

He walked the world in darkness and despair,
lost in his madness due to utmost greed.
The power of the ring he would not share
as wickedness had plagued his mind indeed.
For in his heart now grew an evil seed,
forgotten was the wee folk he had been
and from dark magic he would not be freed,
he fell into its shadow from within.
It took his life, which was beyond repair,
while Sméagol was forever in its care.

Her Dark Road (2)

Within those eyes are seen a mystery
as many hands about her wish to part
her from the secrets never meant to be,
before deceit is planted in her heart;
and darkness fills her soul n'ere to depart,
while shadows gather round her day and night
to draw her from the light that will impart
serenity in life that brings delight.
So she's a pawn now caught up in black art,
a path to walk, forever set apart.

Dear Heart (3)

Our dearest Susan has a tender heart,
a mother who's devoted to her son,
her love and wisdom to him she'll impart,
so when they are together they have fun;
I know their love shall never come undone.
She's special to her friends and family,
a gift from God, who's loved by everyone
for truly she is blessed with dignity,
in this I'm sure that we would all agree
because I know she has been good to me.

The Dance Goes On

I

I think about how much he loved to dance,
And truth be told he did it very well,
And that is why we never missed the chance
To take the floor, if even for a spell;
And we would have a ball, ‘twas clear to tell.
Those memories are precious, dear to me,
And though he is long gone they’ll always dwell
Within my heart: and I am sure that he
Is dancing still to music heavenly…
I swear at times I hear the melody.

II

‘Please dance with me,’ he’d said when we first met,
And I accepted, so we took the floor.
I believed that we would have just one set
But it soon became clear there would be more,
And so we danced until our feet were sore.
Fate’s music does not always match our song
Sometimes it interrupts with its own score,
And we have no choice but to go along.
I did not hear that final note that bore
Him away, but it cut me to the core.

III

I knew my life would never be the same,
For everything changed on that fateful day
And even as I ranted, raged and blamed
Anyone, for somebody had to pay,
The world continued on its merry way;
The sun still shone as it was wont to do,
The stars still came out every night to play,
And that old moon still emerged right on queue.
There are times when life serves us a rough game,
And if we miss a step we end up lame.

Circle of Life

Out of the darkness there is light,
Signs of hope in a saddened sky
Sparkling stars are shining bright.
Clouds, wipe teardrops from their eye,
Breezes blow with a heavenly sigh
Earth`s inhabitants remain as one,
There shall never be a sad goodbye
This unity in time, has just begun,
An eternal circle, life again shall rise
Within newborn spirits disguise.

-----

Come Dance With Me

Underneath the moon and starlight together,
Gather me in your arms that we may dance,
Lets cherish this night of passion forever
Come now draw me closer to your heart,
Dancing to the rhythm in hypnotic trance
Whisper, endearing words of deep affection
A soft gentle melody enticing romance
Nearness for us is a mutual selection,
A warm embrace with love and protection
This dance entwined, now in blissful perfection.

-----

Dance To The Four Winds

Let the winds gust forth and blow on their land
Bring forth the rains to cleanse blood of old
From ancestors, of their great Cherokee band
That they may soon rise proudly from the fold
And nurture back the corn, to a land of gold
Respecting mother nature for this chance.
Embracing with arms toward the bitter cold
With pride and dedication in their trance
To the rhythm of the great drum they chant
And dance to the four winds giving thanks.

-----

Freyja The Norse Goddess

Freyja Norse Goddess of beauty and grace,
Renowned for her power and magical balm,
Like Aphrodite the Greek born to embrace;
With a trinket of Odin adorning her arm,
A Goddess of love, with submissable charm,
Of lust and enticement, bewitching to all,
A Viking temptress, in her plight to be calm
Her lovers were chosen on beckoned call,
Luring and tempting with enchanting face.
And her body veiled beneath cobweb lace.

Harnessed by cats her chariot of olde
Soaring heavens realms where she reigns
Amidst resting souls of her warriors bold
Where their spirits of afterlife now remains,
Thus Viking blood passes through her veins
Two fine daughters from wedlock she bore
Inheriting their mothers beauty and fame,
Their father Óðr, had travelled vast shores
So alone was Freyja with heartache untold
She was said to have wept, red tears of gold.

-----

Happiness

There is yet another form of happiness.
It is when you are loved and contented,
When there is nothing in life to suppress
And both lovers have unduly consented,
Mixed feelings could be misrepresented
But if happiness is there from the start,
And together still blissfully contented,
No situation shall force true love apart
Thus happiness has become a finer art.
Kept forever embedded in their hearts.

-----

The Hunted

ero Harken to the sound of the hunters horn,
As they ride through wild country terrain,
Poor Mr fox wished he`d never been born,
Though he`s cunning when he uses his brain,
His natural, instinctive, survival yet again,
Shall not always outwit howling hounds,
Tally Ho!! they call, driving hounds insane
Poor fox concealed in his den underground
With nervous panic, not a whimper or sound
Angry hounds advanced, in leaps and bounds.

-----

Miss Adventure

I once courted a boy in the Cotswolds,
And what a pain he turned out to be,
He had begged me to wear a blindfold
But I was curious and just had to agree,
It maybe just a figment of his fantasy.
And I being naive, was I supposed to know
I completely knew he was not for me
So of course his lordship would have to go
And by this time I had more than enough.
He had only wanted to play blind mans buff.

Dance Across the Sky

I saw the silver lady rise tonight,
in shades of arcane blue I felt her grace.
She climbs across the sky to share her light
and drapes oe'r trees with filigrees of lace.
My lady moon has shown her lovely face
I sat and watched her dance across the sky
And in her dream I found a quiet space
as in her glory I can only sigh.
A magic dwells within this hallowed place,
and time now wanders in a slower pace.

Castles in the Air

Flying alone along the avenue of clouds
I welcome the silence and the solitude
The total absence of sound and crowds
So close, to heaven at this altitude
I feel a sense of awe, a change of mood
Looking up, I fly my craft along a street
First black then white, till blue is viewed
Being human, that challenge I cannot meet
Too high to far for a mere mortal feat,
I’ve not the gift of wings and none to fleet.

Angels and Gods look from their heavenly height
Smiling at a mere mortal looking up at them
Not curious just amused by that simple sight
A wish to fly they had heard man mention
That wish to fly they could never condemn
They give to birds and insects a gift rare
Who has not heard their joy of ascension?
And the joy of man in flight they are aware
Smiling sometimes at the things men dare
As they look down from their castles in the air.

Depressed

Finally the night is over and I can rest
All I do now is fight dreams and memories
Once those dreams and memories were best
But now the pain they create fills my arteries
My heart still beats adding to the catastrophe.
Why did you leave me, was I just a toy,
Was it all just another casual revelry?
When we first met I thought I was blessed
Now you’ve gone leaving me depressed.

-----

Elixir of Life

We have missed the spring and the summer
But they are times of growth until mature.
All we have is autumn and then winter
Where time will fly, of that we can be sure.
I’m convinced, time without you was poor
And in knowing you now I’ve found a wealth.
Not in gold, but in a love that will endure.
Winter will come surely, there’ll be no stealth.
Experience has taught us now we can abjure
Our beliefs with a potion called “Amore”.

-----

Early Dawn

In the early dawn of our love
you taught my heart to dance
and with blessings from above
I am praised with your glance.
To ordinary mortals this is romance
but I simply call this love heaven
I am wounded with Cupid’s lance
in feeling it I am raised above men
only seeking now ways to enhance
our love and continue this trance.

-----

Experience of Love

Our bodies and minds are conditioned by life
Open your heart before love says goodbye
Showing emotion and not be stoic in strife
To learn to love, you must first learn to cry
For too long now, my heart had been awry
Slowly through you, I'm now learning to weep
Thankfully now that love is in great supply
Not tears or sobs and nights spent without sleep
Now tears of joy as loves vigil we try
Nothing’s the limit now not even the sky.

And now it’s become time for you to cry
For too long now you have held pain inside
It’s now time for you to waive it all goodbye
Along another’s path you must learn to ride
At the same time taking on another’s stride
Now I'm here holding you close as you sob
Look in my eyes, see there is nothing denied
As anger and frustration from inside we rob
Then moving closer we feel our hearts glide
Succeeding together and alone were denied.

Goodly Thoughts

Each road in life is along a rocky path
Take each step with care in case you slip
There is not any truth of the Lord’s wrath
He like any father, your arm will grip
And help if needs be of any further trip.
Like any father he will watch you stray
Understanding curiosity’s fillip
Yet making allowances for us to play
Never feeling put out if we don’t pray.
Knowing there’s black and white and grey.

-----

Key Change

Only when you have kissed Death are you aware
Til then there was uncertainty, and ambivalence!
Seeing the reaper, sweeping you with her glare
Hearing the wailing of Death starting to prance.
Seeing her point to you and begin to advance
Clad in white gossamer with her arms extended
Calling you to her side you begin your last dance
It’s then you’ll know your life almost ended.
You wake you and your soul to life once again
Realising that your life can never be the same.

-----

Kicking the Night

Kicking the night like a can in front of me
A can, used then cast away unwanted,
But the night keeps pace to some degree
Like life and me, we learned and adjusted,
And now in camouflage I have adapted.
In poor street lights, I question my way
As I walk along the dim streets unassisted
But I still need guidance during the day.
My mind needed clearing, so I got away
To clear my thoughts that are in disarray.

-----

My Wings

My wings shall cover the tapestried earth
In addition, the shot blue silk of the sea
Flying high west seeing the sun give birth
The world so far below in my apogee
My wings ride the silken morn with glee
As I pattern the silent and sunlit sky
Under Cancer and Capricorn envy me
For I’m flying where birds can never fly
Following the sun where day doesn’t die
Waving the world below, a fond goodbye.

My wings shall cover the world so easily
Soaring high over the conquered mountain
Where cloud pennants seen to unfurl so high
Over where I now rule as its sovereign.
There is no bird the equal of an airplane
Man has improved on birds, and got it right
Making the air sometimes part of his domain
Sometimes, means its a temporary delight.
Wings quieter now sing softer songs in flight
As they descend now towards the night.

-----

Observation

If you look at a person long enough
You discover humanity through their eyes
First unyielding then no longer tough
The longer you look behind the disguise
Each time you see more pain and cries
And smiles and shrugs and cast off laughs
Fears and tears and problems hid by lies,
Exposed as though by an accountants graphs.
Now through fate we have crossed paths
Sharing emotions from experiences carafes.

-----

Sombras

As we walk, see the way our shadows hold hands,
The way they blend and merge as we wander
The sun creating images out of golden bands
Making them more real than us we wonder.
And having joined cannot be pulled asunder
The absence of body is this what reality means?
What is reality, is it all just a casual blunder
This unity of souls this apotheosis of scenes
If that is reality, what are dreams I wonder
And would those dreams cast reality away?

-----

Twilight Glimmers

Twilight glimmers with unclaimed dreams
The dawn of night promising things to come
What love is not bettered by moonbeams
And reluctant new love found easier begun?
Often loves words are smothered by the sun
Yet freely given and warmly received at night.
Shyness is a curse, nights words are easier won
Your heart will guide your tongue what’s right.
And in the moons light see what must be done
And in the years ahead what you’ve become.

You will have found that your love did ignite,
Then with each dawn side by side you will lay
Words of love no longer fearful of the light
Smiling together, united you greet the day.
Where there once was doubt, you’ll discover play.
Welcome the Sun, and not afeared to watch it go
See it come alive in its entire array
Thankful, happy, knowing that it will grow.
The gift you have is the greatest assay
In that knowledge enjoy your love soiree.

Wind in the Willow

The soft evening breeze hits the willow tree,
It bends o'er not as a servant, no way.
It's just allowing each branch to feel the breeze
Allowing the wind an easier way to play
This is how nature has begun each day
The willow feels the wind stroking her limbs
Enjoying its touch and begins a sensuous sway
And allows her emotions to slowly climb.
The wind dances increasing tempo and time
Like your lover nearing that moment sublime.

Forgotten Lives

I've hidden my bottles in the waves break
Where time stands quietly waiting to die,
As dieing may be the way we will wake
To find eternity is just the sky
And clouds are how this love shall truly fly.
You've found the hidden message still afloat
Since time passed us by this way, dieing sighs
Reincarnated souls in a note,
The remains of past lives that ache
For another sunset and loves to make.
