2007 Form Challenges
#7 Kyrielle Sonnet

Once a very popular French form dating from the middle ages. It is written in quatrains (four lines of poetry), which includes a refrain (repeat line, phrase, or word) and as is normal with French poetry it is octosyllabic (eight syllables) to make up a quatrain rhyming:
.A. b. a. B.... c. b. b. B..... d. b. d. B. ,
with each quatrain finishing with the same refrain.
A three stanza Kyrielle lends itself beautifully to a sonnet form, if the first line is carefully chosen so that it compliments the refrain and by adding that line to the refrain we have a couplet, and by adding that to the three stanzas, we have a natural sonnet

To learn to love

Bodies and minds conditioned by life
Open your heart before love says goodbye
Show your emotion, don't be stoic in strife.
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
Too long my heart has been asleep
Because of you my spirit is high
Now through you, I learn to weep
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
No longer holding feelings inside
which only you can dulcify
Choose instead this uncertain ride
To learn to love, you must learn to cry
Bodies and minds conditioned by life
To learn to love, you must learn to cry

As an alternative the rhyme scheme can also be as follows .A. a. b. B....c. c. b. B..... d. d. b. B. ,
The following is an addition to make it a double Kyrielle sonnet. The two are still linked together by the refrain and also the second last lines link to each sonnet. The first line of the sonnet couplet linking to the other sonnet. I think this makes an interesting challenge to any poet.

This is how the couplet of the previous sonnets couplet would have ended.

Now it is time for you to weep
To learn to love, I must learn to cry

#2

Now it is time for you to weep
Release all you have tried to keep
Trust in me love, I will not lie
To learn to love, I must learn to cry
I'm here besides you as you sob
Angry and frustrated, inside you rob
With trust our love cannot die
To learn to love, I must learn to cry
I look in your eyes seeing tears
Holding and kissing away your fears
Trust and love for all eternity
To learn to love, I must learn to cry
Bodies and minds conditioned by life
To learn to love, I must learn to cry

Dear Jennie

I think of you my dear Jennie,
more than I thought, I would back then
I write about you quite often
with love from within that grows free
For your guidance thank you, mommy
I could not have picked or chosen,
a kinder sweeter, great person
with love from within that grows free
Whose helped plant my roots like a tree
and sometimes I think life's taken
the one most important token
with love from within that grows free
I think of you my dear Jennie,
with love from within that grows free

Papa's Cafe

Where ever you are I will be
Just look inside and you will see
Although I shall be far away
You'll sense the aroma always
Don’t be afraid to be alone
Our time apart is the unknown
You know Ill miss you everyday
You'll taste the latte blend always
When you are sad or feeling blue
Recall these words I say to you
When you leave from papa's cafe
You'll sense the love inside always
Where ever you are I will be
Our time so short but true always.

Chilling Cold

Mirror must lie for I feel old
Weary legs trudge up endless stairs
Once in, must peel off many layers
I hate hate hate this chilling cold
I’m an autumn girl, truth be told
love the lingering warmth of fall
leaves gaily dance 'til final call
I hate hate hate this chilling cold
I yearn to be free of winter’s hold
I’d like to hibernate until spring
awaken to blooms as birds sing
I hate hate hate this chilling cold
Mirror must lie, I feel so old
I hate hate hate this chilling cold.

Autumn Shadows

A peaceful moon shines down on Earth
The year has gone there’s no turning back
Unable to hide the autumn’s leafy dearth
Lighting shadows across her track.
Winter is preparing her three month stay
Drabbing even nights brown’s and black.
But the autumn moon still holds sway
As she lights shadows across her track.
Life still holds warmth gained by day
Night soon cools, tries to steal it back
The moon resists the seasons decay
As she lights shadows across her track.
A peaceful moon shines down on Earth
Lighting shadows across her track.

Coming of Age

Those treasures carefully locked inside
An almost empty mind, human outside
Is the loss of wisdom worth the cost,
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?
See her sitting there quietly smiling still
Originally placed there, against her will
Sometimes duty can be too heavy a cost
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?
No attention span and the words are gone
Mind formatted by fate, the body lives on
There are so many things I still need to ask
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?
Those treasures carefully locked inside
What is the value of age if the mind is lost?

Heavenly Tears

What is rain but liquid sunshine,
Making life lush, and proud and tall.
Wine drops from angels as they dine
The tears of Heaven blessing us all.
Not all tears are that, some a sample
Denied too often, whilst building a wall
Built by time and parental example
Not tears of Heaven blessing us all.
Fathers make men by denying they cry
Only sissies cry, real men stand tall.
I sob and I blubber, I will not deny
And thank Heaven for blessing us all.
What is rain but liquid sunshine,
The tears of Heaven blessing us all.

-----

Hot Air

Today I watched hot air balloons
Traffic slowed at this lovely sight
Seeing six smiling coloured moons
Soaring eastward in the morning sky.
We drove on in slowed parade
Smiling as we passed them by
Envying them whilst they played
Soaring eastward in the morning sky
Into the dark of the Burnley Tunnel
Going deep instead of flying high
Losing them as we drove into hell
And they soared east in the morning sky.
Today I watched hot air balloons
Soaring eastward in the morning sky.

-----

I do not laugh

I do not laugh nor do I weep
But I live on still, or I just try
The wounds I have go far to deep
And do the best as days go by.
The words we spoke the songs we sang
The place echoes with our reverie
The old bell a time or to we rang
I remember as days go by.
And now I see another’s face
For I love her I need not try
It’s another love, it’s not replace
Memories make as days go by
I do not laugh nor do I weep
And do my best as days go by.

-----

It’s Time

The time we had I won’t forget
After all this time at last I know
I’m moving on without regret
It’s finally time to let you go
You left so soon with love in flood
But Fates black-hand changed the show
Every thing we had was oh so good
Now it’s finally time to let you go
I know you sit there watching me
With someone else I must now grow
Not judging on how it should be
‘Cause it’s finally time to let you go
The time we had I won’t forget
But it’s finally time to let you go

Kismet or is it?

Walking along life’s mysterious path
No longer wondering what is in store
Never having faced Fate’s wrath
Some find ease and want much more.
Life has paths that are ordained we take
But looking out is seen three or four
Alternative moves that they can make
Some find ease and want much more.
So a route is chosen without any strife
With ease and comfort develop a rapport
Always seeking a more luxurious life
Some find ease and want much more.
Walking along life’s mysterious path
Some find ease and want much more.

My Wings

My wings cover the tapestried earth
And the shot blue silk of the sea
Flying high see the sun give birth
The world below in my apogee
My wings will ride the silken morn
Flying where birds can never be
Under Cancer and Capricorn
The world below in my apogee
Patterning the silent and sunlit sky
Over which I rule all that I see
Cloud pennants unfurl as I fly
The world below in my apogee
My wings cover the tapestried earth
The world below in my apogee.

-----

On the Swag

The road I choose is not with you
I’m seeing now a different view
And think it’s time to shed this pack
On the swag, and off down this track.
The road I chose has many bends
I’m wondering if it ever ends
Taking trails that sometimes work back
On the swag, and off down this track.
The road I chose has many a climb
It’s easy enough if you take your time
The wind in yer face and sun at ‘back
On the swag, and off down this track.
The road I choose is not with you
On the swag, and off down this track.

-----

Perplexity

When I talk to you the words come easy
Yet inside the turmoil the excitement
Each syllable comes slipping out so freely.
And my words cause you no torment?
I hope my heart guides my tongue right
So that you know what is truly meant
So that you surrender to me tonight
And my words cause you no torment?
My mind willing to speak so lovingly
Will you miss my love, my true intent?
And treat my suit accordingly
When my words mean you no torment?
When I talk to you the words come easy
And my words mean you no torment?

Rien de Neuf

The moon sits there in all her glory
Never tiring of this consistent view
Watching lovers create their new story
Smiling because there is nothing new.
What is new to them is not to her
She shares love with another two
And still smiles and is full of care
Smiling because there is nothing new.
The stars will wink and smile with her
United lovers now one not two
Because they love and also care
Smiling because there is nothing new.
The moon sits there in all her glory
Smiling because there is nothing new.

Silent Tears

My lover is silent when she speaks
Her eyes say all telling of her plans.
Muted gifts from heavens peaks
Her words of love are with her hands.
My lover listens with sparkling eyes
Which reply to me in volumes
Sometimes mouthing her replies
Her words of love are with her hands.
My lover’s tears are silent gems
Seldom now are they sadness cries
But happy ones from where love stems
My lover listens with sparkling eyes
My lover is silent when she speaks
Her words of love are with her hands.

-----

Silent Tears II

My lovers touch means all to me
They are the words that tell me all
And more because she cannot see
Who needs sight to know the truth?
My love is silent when she looks at me
But sees more than those with sight
Her hands are extensions of her soul
Which doesn’t need sight to know the truth
My lover doesn’t have sparkling eyes
There is no reflection from within
But tears will flow just as sincere
Because she really knows the truth!
My lovers touch means all to me
Who needs sight to know the truth?

The time we’re in

We speak from half a world around
For a short time, we are so close again
United by just voice and sound
How strange it is the time we’re in.
Yet is our love so very strange
We are together are we not?
Our lives and times we rearrange
How strange it is the time we’re in.
We know, we share, we love, each night
Or is it day? I do not know.
In days long gone to loves we wrote
How strange it is the time we’re in.
In days long gone to loves we wrote
How strange it is the time we’re in.

2.

In days long gone to loves we wrote
And time went so slow until the day
The postman’s whistle heralded a note
It’s better now the time we’re in.
We read and treasured every word
Wrote a response and held our breath
Time would drag till again we heard
Its much quicker now the time we’re in.
Temptation ever would be loves bane
For whist they wait ‘twas easy to sin
But what’s so different is the same
It’s much easier now the time we’re in.
We speak from half a world around
It's much easier now the time we're in.

These Hands

These hands have not had a manicure
They were they never soft like you
Your safety my love I will ensure.
With these hands you can feel secure
How much do I love to touch you
And please you so love will endure
A simple touch, is this the key?
With these hands you can feel secure
How much with you do I love to play
And pleasure my life’s amour
Love will light up the dullest day
With these hands you can feel secure
Love will light up the dullest day
With these hands you can feel secure.

Construction IX

Bare hands are reaching from grey shrouds,
titanium skin reflects Sun’s rays
as at the feet of piled up clouds
her soul is offered to his blaze.
On concrete feet, with ribs of steel
her body’s raised to brave time’s plays;
with head thrown back in mute appeal
her soul is offered to his blaze.
Her roots seek traces of lost blood
as tendrils glide through spiralled maze;
descending deep in ancient mud
her soul is offered to his blaze.
Bare hands are reaching from grey shrouds-
her soul is offered to his blaze.

-----

Construction X

As concrete flows in fat gray streams,
it suffocates my outbound dreams.
Condemned to die inside this swamp,
tall trees are waving- death redeems.
Highrises, raising wide steel beams
are choking roots of wood- it screams;
as saws grip trunks, prepared to chomp,
tall trees are bending- death redeems.
Forever changed by man-made schemes,
my window’s view breaks up its theme.
New shops are opened with great pomp-
tall trees are falling- death redeems.
As concrete flows in fat gray streams,
tall trees are dying- death redeems?

Dhyãna -Yoga XIV

Enveloped by Sun's healing hands,
I open heart and soul- connect;
relinguish grip of life's demands-
in meditation I reflect.
Like floating dandelion seeds,
I see my drifting thoughts collect-
temptation lessens, then recedes.
In meditation I reflect.
I hear the morning song of birds,
yet neither follow, nor reject,
serenity exceeds all words;
in meditation I reflect.
Enveloped by Sun's healing hands
in meditation- I reflect.

Dreaming II

The doona’s snug up to my ears,
between the blinds I see Moon’s face
smile down on me, rub out my fears-
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.
I’m rocked on clouds that travel south,
swift airwaves carry us through space;
I taste the sweetness of your mouth
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.
In lilac veils Dawn greets the day,
night disappears without a trace.
My eyes are kissed by Sun’s first rays,
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.
The doona’s snug up to my ears,
enfolding me in dream’s embrace.

-----

Gallery

My inner eye watches a screen;
in spirals images go round,
fast changing, no break in between-
in stepping back I find my ground.
Visions on display alluring,
pull me towards pools of rainbowed sound;
unborn wishes are maturing,
in stepping back I hold my ground.
I see dogs and fishes, flowers,
a gaping pea-pod looks profound;
Sun and Moon unfold their powers,
in stepping back I guard my ground.
My inner eye watches a screen,
in stepping back I touch my ground.

May

A chorus-line of slim young trees
is swaying on May's heady beat;
thin branches flutter leaves in breeze,
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.
Among high treetops birds seek mates,
with puffed up chests bold males compete
as lady turns her head and waits;
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.
Her choice depends on song and nest;
encouragement is in her tweet,
inspiring him to build his best-
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.
A chorus-line of slim young trees-
vibrations thrill through steadfast feet.

-----

Neptune’s tears

With angry tears night’s velvet’s ripped;
as wings of feeble men are clipped,
blue burning bolts of light are thrown-
hot blood is turning into stone.
Cold rain is slashing down, it whips
on bowing heads of men and ships;
below the gale you hear their moan-
hot blood is turning into stone.
High waves rush forward, lashing shores
while Neptune’s voice thunders and roars;
false tears are drowned as masks are blown-
hot blood is turning into stone.
With angry tears night’s velvet’s ripped,
hot blood is turning into stone.

-----

Rain

Grey sheets of rain obscure my view
since Sun played truant, stealing heat;
my summer frocks wait for their cue-
hide memories of sunlit streets.
Six weeks of drought came to an end,
parched throats of trees drink to replete-
their crowns, bowed low as rain descends,
hide memories of sunlit streets.
Fast flowing rivers took roads’ place,
no bikes in sight, they can’t compete
as wider arms of cars’ embrace,
hide memories of sunlit streets.
Grey sheets of rain obscure my view,
hide memories of sunlit streets.

-----

Surya Namaskar-Yoga XIII

In raising arms up to the Sun
I stretch my spine- feel bones align.
Then bending to inverted Vee,
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.
My body follows age-old rites,
each posture brings a deeper peace;
in rhythm with each move I see
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.
In yielding to each ãsana,
I find relief in centered breath.
As muscles stretch, my mind’s set free-
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.
In raising arms up to the Sun,
my drifting thoughts find rest in Thee.

-----

Trust

In raging storms strong trees stay put
as leaves are chased in hot pursuit.
Tall slender stems bow with each gust,
while weaker ones break down to dust.
Each root sends suckers in the soil
to grip the earth in tendrilled coils.
Undaunted trees sway with the thrust
while weaker ones break down to dust.
Well hidden in dark, deeper layers
life’s fluid runs in streams of prayers.
Each budded leaf unfolds in trust,
while weaker ones break down to dust.
In raging storms strong trees stay put,
while weaker ones break down to dust.

-----

Unconsummated Love

A pale faced Moon, in day’s disguise,
attracts far reaching rays of Sun;
as heat enfolds her, she’s his prize-
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.
Her lover left with fond goodbyes,
their passion vanished ere begun;
her blooming heralds his demise,
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.
In blackest mourning Moon now cries,
without his warmth she feels undone.
A veil of shooting stars apprise-
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.
A pale faced moon, in days disguise
will soon be dreaming pearls of stars.

-----

Yoga XII

Deep in my belly dreams a snake-
in Pranayama she can wake.
I close my eyes and cross my legs,
as breath is forming perfect eggs.
Inhaling air along my spine,
expanding vertebrae align;
each measured step removes old dregs,
as breath is forming perfect eggs.
Exhaling flows from crown of head,
then runs from throat to breast instead
. Each pause in breathing’s marked by pegs-
as breath is forming perfect eggs.
Deep in my belly dreams a snake,
as breath is forming perfect eggs.

Your Voice VIII

As brown vibrations rock my soul,
long drought ploughs chasms in my skin;
warm thrills echo your voice within-
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.
Each whispered word, in gentle toll
brings harmony to discords torn,
withdraws fanged venom from each thorn;
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.
My blood flows in an offered bowl;
from opened vein blooms roses’ sigh
in velvet petals- rapture’s nigh;
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.
As brown vibrations rock my soul,
bare tears once hidden, are consoled.

Endorse Me With Love

Within the silent soft refrain
We’re trapped inside our mindless thoughts
Reflecting answers once again
Of wonders of past cruel words brought
String no more, our hearts bear the sore
Bring back and arise loving thoughts
As intended writing love more
Of wonders we both loved and sought
Rough winds have shaken buds untrimmed
Winter’s storm has last far to long
And often making lights grow dim
Endorse us with loving soft songs
Within the silent soft refrain
Endorse me with loving soft songs

For Lovers

The luster in your eyes aglow
One sultry look, the candle melts
your love quickens the touch is felt
Like the glow of candles, love shows
With words of love to move and grow
His touch, her quiver enticed more
Each movement deepens your rapport
Like the glow of candles, love shows
Peacefully your hearts beat slow
Your eyes, your face, your bodies rest
Held in loving arms, breast to chest
Like the glow of candles, love shows
The luster in your eyes aglow
Like the glow of candles, love shows

*Heavenly Rain Drops*

Rolling, twinkling rain drops come
To drench and soak away earths dust
It’s voice at times sings full of robust
Sparkling rain, heavenly beating drum
Natures beauty is back time has come
To smell the freshened, fragrant breeze
From drenched, dripping eucalyptus trees
Sparkling rain, heavenly tenor drum
In the valley of whatever may come
The rain pours down striking the road
Like dancing Indians this story’s told
Sparkling rain, heavenly beating drum
Rolling, twinkling rain drops come
Whispering rain, heavens beating drum

You don’t have to be so up tight
As you go along, alone each night
No matter what road you travel upon
The thoughts of your friends will linger on
Everything you hear, everything you see
Rejoice, feast the atmosphere there be
Those fouled up days withered and gone
New thoughts, new friends to thrive upon
Blazing new paths on your journey alone
Sad times, bad times, but most best be throne
Farewell my friend until the ending dawns
New thoughts of your own compassion lingers on
No matter what road you travel upon
New thoughts, new friends to thrive upon

By day the touch, by night love grows
Feel the blood take it’s natural course
Like the warmth of the rivers source
In poetry’s sky, the twinkling eye
Will glow and amuse with surprise
Love gives his best loving perforce
Like the warmth of the rivers source
Warmer days and summers cool soft nights
Enchanting time, sweet love high heights
Love we indulge with touch on course
Like the warmth of the rivers source
Nurtured in a sequence that flows
Like the warmth of a rivers source

Thoughts of loving you…priceless

Thoughts serenely sweet express
So soft, so dear so eloquent
I’ll tell of days and nights goodness spent
Thoughts of loving you…priceless
A mind at peace where love be caressed
A heavenly paradise for you and me
A glimpse at sweet love, there we be
Thoughts of loving you… priceless
All temptations eyed, we must confess
Within a pleasant laughter shows
Days and nights warmth satisfaction bestowed
Thoughts of loving you… priceless
Thoughts serenely and sweetly expressed
Thoughts of loving you… priceless

Priceless moments spent at night times progress
Under a net of Golden winking stars to thrill
The reason firm, enchanting strength and skill
Thoughts of loving you…priceless
Lounging by pool and colorful oleanders dressed
Mesmerized by the lull surrounding us
Swimming, kissing, feeling our love rush
Thoughts of loving you…priceless
Moments to reminisce how sweet love fluoresces
Many years we wanting, and patiently waited
Harmoniously we weep joyously for love’s our fate
Thoughts of loving you…priceless
Thoughts serenely and sweetly expressed
Thoughts of loving you…priceless

Where The Hell Is My Twinkling Star?

I looked for the wandering sky
Covered in gray and fortified
Alone seeking one twinkling star
Alone I sat the star was far
I felt the tears moisten my skin
His harsh words dampened within
I’ll stand my distances from his mars
Alone I sat the star was far
I conquered deaths and added power
Time elapse and white clouds tower
Scars gone tear drops laden afar
Alone I sat the stars not far
I looked at the wandering sky
No more alone the stars not far

Aberrations Tears

When someone says not to worry
Then gets you into a knarry*
Situation, in temptations,
They put you in aberrations.
Never knowing whether you can trust
Again, no true friends would bedust
You in such contrived station,
You are put in aberrations.
There can be no peace, only war,
With those who use and then ignore
Your lack of rapport, frustrations,
They put you in aberrations.
When someone says not to worry
They put you in aberrations.

Earths Tears

She grieves for her children, yet not
Enough to stop quaking in spots,
Breathing fires in other places,
Knowing death but giving aces.
She cries for want of thirsty trees
Though lightening causes sights to see,
Some storms are honeycomb traces,
Knowing death but giving aces.
Of all kinds, be they animal
Or fields of flowers beautiful,
Put to shame mans sorry pieces,
Knowing death but giving aces.
She grieves for her children, yet not,
Knowing death but giving aces.

Grounds

Cafe grounds are dawns happy friend
To waken us from dreams sure end,
Some to scare us, others joyous,
Awakening hours lent to us.
Love grounds meet dawns quiet song
Sung in natures chorus, we long
To hear birds cheer melodious,
Awakening hours lent to us.
Weep grounds make midnight our hour
For tears brought in lovings power
To be let go by furious
Awakening hours lent to us.
Cafe grounds are dawns happy friend
Awakening hours lent to us.

Love's Tears

I wonder where the romance went
You used to care, now just lament
Good times that never came along,
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.
Wish there was a way to create
Another life, not desecrate
But consecrate love so strong,
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.
It's never been as it should be
We've wandered a desert corbe*
Trying to straighten what is wrong,
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.
I wonder where the romance went
Bad times killed lovers true blue song.

Pot Bound

Oh these roots are strangling me
As they wind and twist back unfree,
No room to grow, or so it seems,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.
My roots curl into themselves now,
No hope of spreading under bough
Of waving leaf or broken schemes,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.
Just once I'd like to see the sun
Beside a stream that slowly runs,
Under a bridge of oaken beams,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.
Oh these roots are strangling me,
Hemmed in by Terra cotta dreams.

Securly held, my love is won.

Sonnet Sequence
Mirror of Senses

Sight: the first sense:

Your reflection in the window
I wonder is it you that I see?
Each time we pass I look at it
I only see what you permit.
What lurks behind the smile
I see and me you so beguile?
Each time we meet do you commit
I only see what you permit.
You turn to me, two more mirrors
Do your eyes hide your sorrows?
My inquisition they do not admit
I only see what you permit.
Your reflection in the window
I only see what you permit.

Sound: the second sense:

Your reflection in the window
The depth of your love I wonder
It does not speak will not admit
It only says what you permit.
It turns to me, still with a smile
No sound from your image to beguile
No vows of love will it commit
It only says what you permit.
If only that image could be heard
If only three exquisite words
Could be heard to come from it
I only hear what you permit?
Your reflection in the window
I only hear what you permit.

Smell: the third sense:

Your reflection in the window
Sweet, more fragrant than any bluet
Has no scent, where is the odour?
What is the fragrance you permit?
Clean, showered and freshly soaped
The tangy bouquet where is it?
This reflection doesn't bring me hope
What is the fragrance you permit?
This glass image has no essence
There is no loves pungency in it
Which can compare to your presence
What is the fragrance you permit?
Your reflection in the window
What is the fragrance you permit?

Taste: the fourth sense:

Your reflection in the window
Will my tongue savour every bit
What flavour does it endow
What is the taste that you permit?
There is not the mouth watering
I can't explore the tasty split
Lip smacking tangy appetiser.
What is the taste that you permit?
The saltiness there is none
There's no finer meal I must admit
Flavoured loves juices are gone
What is the taste that you permit?
Your reflection in the window
What is the taste that you permit?

Touch: the fifth sense:

Your reflection in the window
Why is it not possible to touch it?
How can I make its heart grow?
What may I touch, that you permit?
This impostor’s image in the mirror
But not your love that special vite
Holds your shape and your form
What may I touch, that you permit?
How well I know your softness
Trembling flesh willing to submit
Your warm wet lips so soft to kiss
What may I touch, that you permit?
Your reflection in the window
What may I touch, that you permit?

Soul: the sixth sense:

Your reflection in the window
The love light that your soul emits?
Are you Juliet and I your Romeo
How may I know what you permit?
What lurks behind your smile
Mona Lisa looking so enigmatic
Is it me you wish to beguile?
How may I know what you permit?
You turn to me, two more mirrors
Is it love for me you must admit
Must you forever hide your sorrows
How may I know what you permit?
Your reflection in the window
How may I know what you permit?
